I had a couple of unscheduled hours waiting for movers to show up and when I say my nails were awful, I mean I tried to scoop my hair into a ponytail and my hands got stuck. They fit me in and I'm so glad. I look like I have human fingers again instead of bird of pray claws. And for my birthday I got their upgraded pedi too -- I think they call it the Indulgent version -- and you have got to try it. It was more like a spa massage and skin treatment where they did your toenails too. This was nothing like the half-hass punch & shove you get at most places. It was about 20 minutes of really nice muscle & lymphatic therapy and it fixed a lot of things in my life for at least two that long. Everything seemed clean and I liked that it wasn't loud -- I don't mind talking, but it was pretty heavenly to just be tended to with no distractions or demands. Came in on a Thursday for my Saturday wedding manicure and pedicure with my mother. I had called ahead a few weeks before and made the appointment for a gel manicure and a regular pedi for both of us, I specifically noted I wanted soft gel. Easy enough to make the appointment. We started with pedicures. I had chipped a bit of a toenail earlier that week moving wedding boxes. Very little effort was put into shaping nails and the pedicure was VERY rushed, looked kind of sloppy. Fine, it's okay, no one will really see my toes. I mention again I want soft gel for my mani, the tech then argued with me argument that I had not specified this when I called, which I had (in fact I did not make an appointment at a different salon because they did not offer it). She seemed annoyed. We next move to the manicure. I asked for a soft gel, chrome nail, oval shaped. Again, VERY rushed, nails were all different lengths and slightly different shapes. It was clear my technician was not interested in taking her time on this. Usually, I wouldn't make a huge stink but I had told here these were for my wedding on Saturday. Her next customer checked in mid manicure and she seems far more interested in servicing her. After she finishes her pretty shotty work, she gets up and moves to attend to the next customer. I've had a lot of gel manicures in my life and they ALWAYS ask to wash after finishing the gel, she did not, again more interested in finishing the service. I had to ask my mother's nail tech to remove the left over gel she left on my skin. At this point she yelled across the salon that I just needed to wash my hands to get the chrome off. Even the other technician tried to reassure her it was polish all over my fingers. Fast forward to the next day, Friday which was my rehearsal dinner. I am already noticing chipping on my nails and need to use clear polish to help get me through the event. Saturday (day 2) immediately after the reception, I had an entire nail pop off. Highlight, my mother's nail tech was extremely sweet and tried to make the situation better. My mom's nails looked great. Salon was extremely clean and sanitary. Overall, service was super disappointing and I regret spending upwards of $100 dollars on nails that didn't last. read more

This is a painful one to write because this place came highly recommended and has great reviews. I wanted to love them. I intended to get a fill but they suggested it may be worth doing a new set bcs they use different products and there mag be adherence problems. Cool! It was probably time. I get gel nails - always have. I was questioned three times on if I was sure they were gel. Yes. I'm sure. But thanks. The tech asked me about poly gel and said it would be better for the first time. You're the expert! Knock yourself out. It may have been Gelish but I'm not 100% sure on brand. Anyway ... They have diagrams at each station showing the different shapes so they clearly know what the shapes are. I asked for square. They were very rounded at the corners and oddly shaped (sort of a Gumby type shape on a few of them). Okay I'm not In love with he shape but it's okay. It's only two weeks and I'll survive. I can clarify more next time. No biggie. But after a week and a half an entire mail popped off. Gone! A brand new set and one popped off. Seemed like a fluke bcs it was my car seat latch thumb so I let it go. A week later I lost a ring finger nail out of nowhere. It wasn't loose - but it just popped off. Absolute insanity! So I went back to my old place. From just the file to remove the polish the gel was peeling off and it was clear I needed a new set. Without even trying, tips broke off bcs they were so thin. I even broke one off myself. Pros: It's appointment only! Lovely to walk in and know you're not sitting around or being shuffled between. Real plus for me! It's so clean! Never seen any nail place cleaner than this. It's decorated well and really just a soothing environment. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe poly gel doesn't agree with my hands. Maybe they just aren't good with gel nails. I don't know. But I'm out another $70 and two hours of my time less three weeks later getting a new set. read more

I always check Yelp and look for at least 4 's before I consider paying for a service or food. Essence is rated 4 1/2. I called and made an appointment for the next morning. I arrived 5 minutes before they were open and went on in. I was greeted by Liz my technician, very sweet and polite. Pedicure and leg massage was fantastic! I also had a gel manicure, it was very good as well. The Spa itself was clean, smelled yummy, not an odor of acrylic like many have, and the soft soothing music made it very pleasant and relaxing. This is a fairly new nail spa. They opened August 2021. It's a great location and easy to park. The shop is beautiful and the equipment nice. The staff are very nice and offer water or soda as you get your nails done. It's a very relaxing environment. I got a pedicure and my nails done and they did a great job! Will come back!! read more
