Avalon is located only a mile from my workplace so I decided to give them a try. I've heard great things about them from a few friends too. My favorite part about my visit here were that I was a walk-in and they were able to accommodate me right away. The host/woman at the desk was friendly and had me pick out my nail colors. I selected a dark blue and glitter (galaxy, ya know?!) and had a seat. The nail technician (I want to say her name was Sarah) wasn't very talkative and got to work immediately. My other favorite thing about this visit is that she was quick! I loved being able to walk through the doors, get my nails done and leave in 30 minutes. So awesome. My nails look great too! My only complaint is that the nail technicians work space was super dirty. It had dust particles all over it which was making my hands itchy. It just felt dirty. Next time, if this happens, I'll be sure to speak up and ask her to wipe the space first. I was pleased with my $30 bill, which after a tip was $36. That's almost $10 less than I was paying at my former nail salon.

I was asked several times about adding art or more to the color I picked and declined it once was pushed again and declined it again and said just purple please. We had conversation and I thought I had a nice experience until I was checked out. I was told my total was 92.00!!!! Even with the small print of the jelly adding 10 the maximum I should have been charged would be 75. False advertised prices and hard plushy sales techniques won't earn you getting to keep me as a customer. Which really stinks because the process and massage was pretty nice. Never again!

The color options provided do not match the actual colors, they say that this is because the colors they give you to chose from are gel and if you chose non gel it is "slightly" different. No, I wanted a very neutral low key mauve and walked out with Barbie neon pink toenails which is very much not my style. It is actually embarrassing. Three days later all my nails have 50% chipped/peeling. Pedicure? They mildly exfoliate, no real work done there. Though it is this way many places, I really wish the techicians would just stop pretending like they understand anything you say. Every single time, I end up with some add on that I did not want, but go along with because there are zero communication skills other than front desk. Oh, and I asked to have my toenails cut and they were barely cut, I guess so that I have to come back next week. But, I will not be coming back ever.
