Let me say this....if you aren't trying to work then don't. It was about 7ish and the open sign wasn't even on. We walked in and the smell of old grease just made my eyes burned. King Kong has gone in the ditch with quality and availability. They overly saturated in so many areas and the product and name is suffering. They were out of almost everything. On a Saturday night one of the screens weren't working no welcoming staff nothing. They were laying in the booth on the phone. They couldn't make anything most of everything was listed as out. My Thai tea was sooo overly sweet and heavy on the milk. After visiting KPop Korean bbq, we noticed that there was a boba tea place nearby. We decided to give it a try. I gave them 3.5 stars due to the following: 1. Location: it's a good location for the south side of town. 2. Parking: plenty of parking. it's in a huge shopping center with a few restaurants and retail stores. Nail salon, Thai restaurant, Korean bbq, etc. 3. Setting: it's a cute store with 3-4 sitting tables. Restrooms are clean. 4. Customer service: the staff was friendly and patience when we went. 5. Price: the boba tea were reasonable priced at roughly $4-5 per tea depending on the size. 6. Offerings: this is where the stars fell for me. The boba tea itself was good. Wasn't too sweet, so I was able to finish my whole cup, but they were pretty cheap on toppings. I'm used to the bigger chunks of herbal jelly at other boba tea shops, so the smaller size at King Kong was a bit disappointing. I thought my cup had an uneven distribution of tea to toppings. My friends thought so also. Overall, I do enjoy the taste of the tea, but do wish they ample up the topping amounts a bit. Kudos for having brewed green and black teas by itself. My boba place here in Warner Robins pre-mix the milk and tea so you can't get a simple jasmine green tea with boba. I mostly go for fruit teas but I found that their flavors consists of a combination of at least 2 fruit flavors. So if you want a simple mango green tea or strawberry green tea, you're out of luck. Yea, I tried but they said they couldn't do it. I ordered mine with 25% sugar and regular ice but I didn't know regular meant a cup full of ice! Maybe I'll opt for less ice next time.Their store also have a variety of asian snack for sale. I'll try their food options next time I visit. This place is below the standard for boba. The place itself is very clean and they even supply board games to play with. Unfortunately, that's the best I can say. I ordered a chocolate milkshake (they were out of strawberry) and it was horrible. It tasted like school chocolate milk, nothing like you would expect from any other establishment with milkshakes. Their packaged snacks are cool and not things you can get every place. Their cooked foods are pretty small and expensive in my opinion. We ordered the calamari and it was the tiniest portion I've ever seen - enough for just one person. The pictures are pretty misleading of the food options. I've tried it twice and both times the drink tastes burnt.. it's extremely bitter and just isn't up to par with their other locations. A super clean yet cute spot! They have lots of variety of drinks and food including boba tea and sugar cane drinks! I love that all the boba teas are made from non diary milk! Definitely a plus! My by far fave is the sugarcane kiwi and strawberry is by far the sweetest yet yummiest thing that I have tried so far! Honestly very surprised with the amount of low star reviews. This place has the best Boba in Mcdonough. It isn't made with powders, they use tea bases. You can adjust the sweetness and ice levels to your liking as well. There are plenty of topping options and flavors. Usually I have to drive up to Doraville to get Boba that fits my taste but King Kong has what I want (just waiting on that tiramisu cream ;)) Also their snacks are delicious. This place is super cute inside. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately they were out of black milk tea. I should have ordered a size medium instead of a large (my fault entirely, I was super hungry at the time). The prices are very decent for the portion. A bit too sweet for my taste even after asking for no sweetener. They also got my order wrong, I ordered a green Bubble tea and they gave me a jasmine bubble tea. Came in as we waited for our table at Kpop BBQ for small eats and a milk tea. I ordered the house egg rolls & taro milk tea, my partner order the calamari. The calamari was advertised with two sauces and lemon. However, it only came with one of the sauces and no lemon. When asked if they had lemon we were told no. My milk tea was a complete flop I tasted more tea than taro there was no balance. I've never experienced such a dissatisfying taste with milk tea. I asked if I could get a remake and got one. Went in with my boyfriend and we were the only ones there. I ordered the matcha green tea milk tea. After we came in and placed our order four sets of people came in and were placing their orders. I heard the girl making the teas call out my drink and so I got up expecting my drink. She gave my drink to a girl that had walked in and placed an order minutes after me. I wasn't going to make a big deal because the next drink would be mine and I thought maybe we ordered the same thing. I got the next drink that came out and it was a jasmine green milk tea. We asked about the drink that I ordered and explained to her that I got drink number 337 and she told me that the jasmine green tea was the same thing. They put order receipts on the cup and the drink I received was number 307. The drink was okay. It wasn't what I ordered and I was lied to about my drink due to the fact that the girl probably didn't want to admit that she game someone else my drink. They should get people's names upon order that way there is no mix up with orders. read more
