This is such a delicious spot for Thai food. We stopped by for an early dinner after an afternoon hike at Rocky Mountain National Park. We were in the mood for some warm, savory Thai food and this is the place to get it! Parking was pretty easy as they have a few spots neighboring the restaurant. We were quickly seated and our server was very prompt with waters and taking our order. I decided on the Tom yum soup with a mild spice level while J opted for the Pad Kee Mao with a high spice level. The soup was delicious and warm - helpful as I was getting over a cold and I found the spice level very manageable. The mushroom and shrimp were well cooked, plentiful and delicious. I had a good chunk of the pad kee mao as well - I loved the spice level here too. Just the right level to get your eyes watering but not out of control. The savory sauce was amazing and the noodles and chicken were very well cooked. We were one of a couple tables as we entered, but a few more joined while we were there. The sitting area is spacious and I could tell it might get busy later in the evening. All the staff were very helpful, prompt, and kind. Service was great along with the ambiance. Waiters were always checking in and making sure our water jug was filled. Resturant wise -everyone was watching the World Cup on the TV and getting along with each other which is nice to see sometimes. With that said, in terms of food, my Pad Thai Hot, fell pretty short from general expectations. Discussing spice levels, the hot was mild at best, but I digress and won't dock points for that since I am from out of state so maybe I should have just gotten the thai spice instead. Taste profile, I will have to say, I have never had a pad thai with strong soy sauce profiles before. It was pretty overpowering. While I will say that it was not disgusting since I am from an Asian background so that is generally in our cuisine, it was not what I was expecting from my many thai experiences. Other downsides may be the limited parking, but generally for a thai place I would leave it around an average point since nothing was bad in particular. read more

I am so happy with our takeout from Estes Thai! I'd love to return in-person and try something different, because we loved everything! It definitely lives up to those good reviews. I just ordered something simple, the orange chicken and white rice. The orange chicken tasted fresh, was still crispy outside (perfect breading) and tender inside, even when covered with the sauce. Note that the orange chicken does come with white rice. I ordered extra not knowing. The egg rolls are also yummy! Small, but you get so many of them. Brought my friends here because I missed it. It was just as good as I remembered. We split a chicken noodle between two people and got an appetizer because we didn't want leftovers and it was the perfect amount of food. Lunch time mid-week and we were craving Thai food. Ordered Pad See Ew tofu and Pad Thai pork. The Pad See Ew tofu was great with the tofu cut into 3/4 cubes and caramelized and nice touch for tofu. Pad Thai with pork was also better than average, with the noodles cooked to the right texture. Service was fast, noise levels were low and the restrooms were very clean and comfortable. When I saw the great reviews at the restaurant I assumed it would be good for Thai food in a small mountain town. Well, I was very mistaken. The food was great for any town. I'm from Vegas and we actually have some amazing Thai food so my standards are pretty high and Estes Thai met all of them! The restaurant was really busy but we got in just in time to grab one of their last tables. The service was really friendly but they are definitely busy and sometimes need to be flagged down. Papaya salad (5/5): the papaya salad was great and not too sweet. The medium spice level definitely had a kick and balanced the dish perfectly Beef Larb (5/5): I was surprised at how great this dish came out since that's not always the case. Only thing I wish was different was they didn't serve it with any cabbage Yellow curry (5/5): I got this spicy as I usually order a 5/5 spicy at my local Thai restaurant but this was actually spicier. I think there was less coconut milk than what I'm used but I really enjoyed it that way. Shrimp Fried Rice (5/5): super flavorful and delicious. Definitely one of the better fried rice dishes I've had Pad see ew (3/5): this was the only dish that was a bit subpar for me. We did add it on in the middle of our meal so they may have felt rushed to get it out to us. It was a lot sweeter than we normally like it and the broccoli was barely cooked. But we mixed up the dish more and the sweetness did mix in better Overall, this was such a pleasant surprise and I urge anyone in the area to check it out! read more

I am a big Thai food lover. Haven't really been able to find a good Thai place other than my favorite in PhX, AZ, however this is an incredible Thai place. Prices are normal, size of portion is somewhat decent, and the flavor and spice is on point. I got the beef drunken noodle and the noodles were so fresh, the beef was good. Good I guess What I got the yellow curry and also the Thai Fried rice both with tofu. The curry was a little flavorless, maybe I need to ask for spicier.. the potatoes were a little undercooked as well, would've been better a bit cooked. The fried rice was good. We stopped here after a long day in the park and we were hungry. We ordered food for carry out and it was ready in about 15 minutes and we went back to our hotel and ate it. It was very good and hot when we got back to the room. The prices are a little high and the portions are smaller than our local place but that is probably just the area. We had a wonderful experience at Estes Thai. We came in on a Thursday around 6:30 and didn't have to wait. Our server was with us shortly and was very friendly. We ordered chicken pineapple fried rice, shrimp pad Thai, and spicy fried rice. It's more of a laid back atmosphere and prices are very affordable, but the food is delicious. The shrimp pad Thai was the best I've ever had. Overall would highly recommend! read more

Yum! Nice and spicy on all of the dishes we ordered. For starters we had a chicken larb salad and the fried shrimp. The larb was delicious and one of the better ones I've had in recent memory. The fresh mint was fantastic and added another level of flavor to the dish. The fried shrimp were not my favorite. It had a piece of chicken wrapped around the shrimp that was almost like jerky. I think it was fried for too long??? My main meal of spicy shrimp fried rice was a huge success. Perfectly cooked shrimp and seasoned rice were on point. It also had some green peppers and fresh basil in it. I really enjoyed it. The service was ok and so were the prices. Starving after a morning of hiking, my family and I visited Estes Thai to fill our bellies. We were quickly seated and our order was promptly taken. We ordered the Tom Yum Goong soup, Green Curry with Shrimp and Pad Thai with Shrimp. Every dish was well balanced. I liked that they used a variety of spices and chilies to create a balanced taste in the Green Curry. The Pad Thai also had a great flavor with a small smell of the char from a hot wok. Ordered Tom yom soup with chicken, beef with broccoli, and drunken noodles with chicken (mild/medium spice) to go. Took about 15 min for the order to be ready as they stated. The soup was ok flavor but the chicken was a little too chewy. The beef with broccoli was way overcooked (both meat and veg) and the sauce was brown and very watery. GF said it looked liked dark dishwater. The drunken noodles had a nice level of spice and flavor but I feel they only gave me 2/3 of my order as the rest of the takeout container was stuffed with lettuce and a tomato slice (see pic). Went in around 5pm on a Friday night and there was 6-7 cars parked and eating in. Tried this place due to the reviews but was disappointed on the quality of the food. read more

I had drunken noodles - should've got with shrimp or tofu. Chicken was drier but still decent. If you can't handle spicy food, don't get it. Otherwise it was SO good!! Also ordered thai tea, delicious!! But you have to be a fan of thai tea in the first place Friends got the rice and epic pad thai. Everyone basically finished their plates cleaned. This is an excellent option for family dinners, as evidenced by the half dozen other families with little ones under the age of 5 at 5:30 pm. The satay chicken with a side of rice is great for kids. For adults, I have had the spicy basil, Tom yum soup, and spicy noodles. They were all excellent, although I would say that the pork in the spicy basil was a bit dry, probably from being overcooked. The restaurant was good for conversation even with a bunch of kids around because they were all busy enjoying their food. Excellent option for dinner in Estes Park. It also is at the beginning of Main Street, so you don't have to fight construction traffic if you're on the Lake Estes side of downtown already. read more

4.5 stars. I'll bump this review up to 5 stars the next time I come here when I can actually taste my food. Estes Thai does NOT mess around with spice. I got Drunken Noodles with medium-hot spice, and I've literally never tasted anything THAT intense in my life. Broke my rule of getting medium only. I was sweaty, dizzy, and VERY alive. I cried at one point. Next time, let's NOT be that bold with spice level. The Thai Iced Coffee helped minimally. I feel like there needs to be some sort of warning. The flavor of the dish itself was excellent, though. Service was good. Wait staff checked on me multiple times to make sure I wasn't dead, encouraging me to keep going. They had faith. Absolutely loved this place. I don't think this place gets enough credit. It's very authentic and the service is amazing. For my app I got spring rolls which came with this honey sauce, I have never tried it before until now and omg! It made a whole difference in the taste of those spring rolls and it was a good difference. I loved how it went so well the sweetness w the spring rolls. For my main dish I had chicken fried rice that was mouth watering!!! And the portions were enough for a couple of people. I will definitely be back to try more of their items on their menu Another thing I liked is their menu wasn't over whelming w a million different food items on the menu.
