Great option for dining in Estes Park. The restaurant was relatively quiet when we arrived at 5 pm, but it was rapidly filling up by 6 pm. Some of the menu options like the Bulgogi and the Vietnamese Noodle Bowl aren't quite what you would expect from a restaurant specializing in that specific cuisine. So we were a little disappointed by these items for that reason. If they had been called something else, it might improve the experience. With that said, both the Bulgogi and the Noodle Bowl were very good. I would order them again, knowing now what to expect. The all-day happy hour menu included 2-for1 Estes Park Gold beer, some sake, and wine. I've been here a couple of times, so in general, I would recommend Cafe Pho Thai. read more

Chicken in the pho was overcooked and was equivalent to chicken shards with no seasoning. Food is just blah. Noodles used for the pho are extremely overcooked where it is just mushy. Pho broth was pretty good. Service is not that great. Asked for a $20 to be broken down for a tip. Waitress gave two $10 bills. I asked for smaller bills and she said they didn't have any which is surprising and looked a little annoyed. So I have only the ability to give a $10 or $20 tip. When customers ask for change in a service industry, it should be common practice to get smaller bills because it only benefits you. read more

Visited this spot in the evening after a day at the Rocky Mtns. Many places in Estes Park aren't open late but thankfully this place didn't close until 9. We came around 7:45pm for a dinner after sunset. It wasnt busy on a week night and service was pretty fast. They had a variety of Asian cuisines, some were good and some just did not meet expectations. I usually am wary of pan-Asian restaurants because the quality usually isn't as great since they don't have a focus. We got a papaya salad as a starter. This was excellent! The sauce was flavor packed and it was a generous portion. A very refreshing portion. My entree was less impressive. I chose the traditional thai fried rice and I wasn't a fan. It had red onion and tomatoes - ingredients I've never seen in thai fried rice. It was also pretty bland. It could benefit from soy sauce, oyster sauce, thai basil, and thai chilis - ingredients usually found in thai cuisine. I also thought the protein portion was lacking, it only had little bits of chicken mixed in throughout the rice. My partner got the ginger chicken and enjoyed it. I would love to give this place four or five stars but i kind of noticed something strange the past couple times i have come and eaten here. The first time i ate here was alone probably a year ago now i always order the same thing chicken pad thai i figured the portion sizes were on the smaller size regardless of what size you ordered, (typically i order the larger size) but one time i cane with my parents and brother and ordered the same thing this time it came with significantly more chicken and more noodles! I thought this was a mistake. Icame back recently hoping for the same large protion size as when i went with my family and nope back to the same small portions regardless of if i had ordered dinners sized meal. My family and I came to this restaurant in honor of our dad after his recent passing (as he loved Vietnamese food). We were so overly disappointed! The food took forever to come out, they messed up two of our orders, we were there for way longer than we wanted to be and our water cups and pitchers sat empty the whole time we were there, my brother ordered a soda and it was never even offered to be refilled. The food didn't have much flavor, some of our food was cold (including our Pho/soup) and was SO overly priced for what we had. We go to Thai and Vietnamese restaurants all the time and this was for sure the worst tasting I've had. And to top it all off our waitress, Sabita, was very rude to us, barley came up to check on us (even though the restaurant had only two other tables full); and she even argued with two of my sisters over their messed up orders, when they were already having a bad day about our dads passing.... They showed me their menu and I asked if they had something with rice paper wrapping filled with lots of veggies (I couldn't remember what they would actually be called). I was shown a place on the menu to look, there was a "veggie" option. I asked to confirm if this was an item wrapped in rice paper as I didn't see it in the description. I was told "yes." They were then very accommodating to let me ask for veggies and tofu to be in the roll. They told me it would be a 20 min wait. However, when I returned, picked up my order and went to my car only to discover I had received sushi rolls. I went back in to ask if I had been given the wrong order. I was told that I had ordered off the sushi menu and the veggies were still wrapped in rice so I should be satisfied. This place has been a hit with our friends for a long time. I enjoyed it once while my wife was away, she's not a fan of Thai. The location will tell you the story of how good it is. Because it's hard to find for tourists totally off the beaten path. Our friends can't say enough about it. We experienced great service. Good presentation very hot and freshly made Thai. Even my wife liked it. She doesn't like eating at a place that uses curry and comes out smelling like it. She was able to have her dish without curry and was very pleased. Great appetizers. Surprisingly good Thai in Estes park! We stopped here for late lunch and got Thai tea, vitenamese coffee. Thai tea was good. For apps, my brother got the spring roll and he was happy. We got the drunken noodles - personally I really liked it. Just perfect amount of spice. We also got the panang thai curry, kong kha soup and thai basil fried rice. I think my least fav was the thai rice, I could smell too much of the fish sauce. The curry was not bad, slightly spicy but tasted great. This is truly a hidden gem!!!!! If you don't know the area-with the abundance of construction that is going on, sadly, you really may not find it or find a way to it. I was very lucky and was riding with someone that is very astute directionally, and after a couple times, trying to figure out how to get in the one-way area to pick up our order he was able to figure it out !!! In the meanwhile, I had actually called in the order because it was a special order, and I wanted to make sure that I could speak with someone to explain exactly what type of pho we wanted. It was going to be about 20 minutes before it was ready and after looking at the directions and realizing we had to drive through a heavy construction area, we were glad it was going to take that long!!! It took us a good, 25 minutes to be able to route ourselves to stop at the restaurant in the midst of the construction mess. I stood for a couple of minutes at the cash register, and a server approached and asked me if I had placed to go order which I confirmed. I told her about the order and she said that she had been back in the kitchen and she thought it was ready, but that she was not the one that took the order so she would locate that person and let him know , I was here to pick it up. He actually walked up right about that time so she gave him the money and told him who I was and he went back toward the kitchen to check the order. He was also very busy assisting other customers, delivering food, and seating two new tables of customers too. He stopped by and advised me that the order was not ready yet and it would be a few minutes . I understand that he has no control over that but I have to say that I was surprised. I waited about 10 minutes and he delivered the pho-he double checked to ensure we did not want any of the offered condiments. The chicken pho with noodle was delicious and just what the doctor ordered. Really amazing to have such a good Vietnamese experience in such a tiny town as Estes Park. We were in Estes Park on a chilly windy day & pho sounded soooo good. Per the usual, I scoped out a spot on Yelp & we tried it out! It was on the back side of the main thoroughfare in town with lots of free public parking. It smelled delicious & it was quite busy at 2:30p on a Saturday! The credit card machine was down but they didn't tell us until we were ready for the check, so that wasn't good.. we scrounged up cash instead of having them write our card info down. The fried spring rolls came out quickly & they were the best part of our meal :) loved the freshness and sweet/spicy sauce. Joey ordered the meatball & beef pho, and I ordered the drunken noodles. The pho broth was pretty good, but the meatballs were way bizarre- almost a little too soft & not quite beef/pork tasting :( idk what it was but they were off! The drunken noodles were just okay, the noodles weren't the wide rice noodles but more like al dente fettuccine- and the medium spice was so bland.
