A really nice ambience for a hotel restaurant. Part of the AMEX Platinum rewards for staying here, we were able to use our credit for wine here and also put towards breakfast. Service was good, and food was pricey but was a large portion and had a great view of DC.

The food at Estuary was definitely a high class experience. The food is fresh and nicely displayed, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is classy and luxurious. For dinner we tried the Virginia T-bone for two with au jus, golden potatoes, and grilled asparagus, which was delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rate, the potatoes were crispy and lightly seasoned, along with the asparagus. We even tried two different desserts to complete our meal. We had the apricot cake, which was an experience of tart and sweet. Then we tried the black sesame creme brûlée with strawberries which were a nice addition to finish our meals. This restaurant has a great view of City Center and is very vibrant and luxurious. There is a full bar and is located on the 3rd floor of the Conrad Hotel. It definitely is an exquisite dining experience.

Beautiful ambience and delicious food. Be sure to order before 10pm unless you're only interested in their late night bites. Friendly and accommodating staff with superb service. The ambience is perfect for a date night or business meeting! A must try on the menu are the oysters and steak. I'll be back for both Tik Tok: @jasephsfavs

Estuary has such a beautiful modern space with great views and natural lighting during the day. I visited for a private brunch for a special occasion and the experience was great from start to finish. The private room had its own bar tender and access to the beautiful balcony. The mimosas and bubbles were flowing! The first course of the meal was a yogurt parfait with vanilla Greek yogurt, berries and granola. So yummy and super sweet. The next course has options for crabcake benedict, omelet or avocado toast all served with a side of crispy potatoes. Most of us had the crabcake and were satisfied. What an overall lovely private dining experience.

Every time I come to the Conrad, this restaurant does not disappoint. I love to order the Night Monument Walk - a rum heavy cocktail. I'm not even much of a rum drinker, but this drink sips more like an old fashioned (just a bit sweeter). The ambiance is on point, the energy is lively, and the staff is very attentive. I will be excited to come back next time. Hope this helps!

Gorgeous place. Incredible food and service. I enjoyed the field greens salad to start and had the sea scallops entree. Phenomenal!! Bar service is amazing as well. Kudos to the team!

    1. Always go at Night. 2. Ask for Table 106. 3. Ask for Lauren I loved my first time here! Attended an event at The Conrad and then popped into Estuary. The views of the city were absolutely beautiful from our table. Seeing all the lights sparkle against the night sky felt magical. Inside was serene with just the low hum of diners enjoying their meals. The food was 10/10. Whatever that Pesto/Sauce is that's served with the crab cakes is Delicious! Our waitress Lauren was phenomenal. Very attentive, checked on our food and kept our glasses full. I can't wait to come back!

I just went to the bar for drinks so this will be strictly for the bar. The drinks were reasonably priced and it came with a complementary individual snacks. I ordered the espresso martini which did not have any cream liquor in it, which is fine because I drink my coffee black. The service was top notch from the time I walked through the glass doors on the bottom level. I was greeted by every single step ever I came in contact with and definitely made to feel welcome..

Estuary is an upscale restaurant in the Conrad hotel. We came for a family brunch on a Saturday. There's a beautiful dining room with a lot of natural light. We walked past the bar, which looked very cool! The service was fine throughout the experience. The food and drinks were very good. I had a delicious oat milk latte. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich ($24). If you want to add avocado to the sandwich, is costs $7 extra! That seemed outrageous to me, and I did not order the avocado for that reason. The crispy breakfast potatoes were awesome. I think the food is good but not worth the high ticket prices. I would value the breakfast sandwich and potatoes at $16-18 max vs $24, but I think you are mainly paying for the high class dining experience. I think this ended up being fancier than we were expecting, and that was fine. I probably wouldn't do a random brunch here again, but I'd come back for some special occasion.

The Conrad Hotel is home of Estuary. Almost 6 years old and I've never left a review. City Center is literally behind the hotel and if you're out shopping, sure there are plenty of great restaurants to dine at but Estuary is a hidden gem nestled inside this gorgeous hotel in walking distance. Upon entry of the hotel you proceed to the right and take the elevator up to the restaurant. You'll be greeted with city views and architecture that is amazing. Ambiance is giving modern, upscale luxury. Estuary is my go-to with my girls if we are out shopping. They have couch seats which are comfortable after walking around in heels at CC. Plus they valet and it's easier to just park here, shop, and eat. Saturday Date Night, he picked this place, and luckily it was restaurant week! He's not a fan of restaurant week, but he agreed! Let's Get Into It! Appetizer: Maryland Blue Crab Cake - Delicious - A must try! Main Entree: Grilled New York Strip - Delicious Chesapeake Rockfish - Delicious Old Bay Fries - LOVED them! Dessert: Chocolate Bar and Mango Sorbet - LOVED! Drinks: My Favorite - City Center Clouds They change their drink menu and also their regular menu from what I remember the dozen times I've come. 4 stars because bar service is never consistent. Some bar tenders give you bar snacks and others don't. We had to ask for them on our recent visit on 2/1 when patrons near us were provided with them without asking. If I come sit down, it should be an immediate smile, hello, placement of menu, placement of bar snack and then a conversation. Some bar tenders are not friendly. I'm in your home, make me feel welcome. Make me want to spend money. Pre- Occupied and short in conversation is off putting. Service for the most part is great! Fine Dining- YES! Ladies you can go dressed up or down and will fit in. A win for me and once service becomes consistent, it will be a 5 star for me!

Inside the amazing Conrad Hotel, Estuary is an upscale restaurant that's a little eclectic with standard tables along with couch and high back chair dining options. The contemporary flow matches the hotel perfectly. We started at the bar which is definitely a vibe all on its own. It sits in the middle of the restaurant and is massive. Once it was time to eat, we were seated at a traditional table, which was fine with me, because the cool looking dining options also comes with doing a lot of bending down.. I'm good on that..LOL! Without knowing, Estuary was participating in Restaurant Week, which hasn't been my thing for a few years now. Normally, they just don't offer what I want. Surprisingly enough, they had pretty decent options but the catch is, if one person ordered from the restaurant week menu, you both have to order from it. I went with the NY Strip and she picked the Rockfish. Both were very very good. For appetizers, we both got the crab cake, which were delicious! Our individual sized desserts were also good. Service was great and if the regular menu had a few more options, I would put Estuary in my regular dining rotation, so may I suggest adding lamb chops and charbroiled oysters.. hey, just a suggestion..LOL Valet is extremely reasonable $14, which CANNOT be beat, especially at a DC 5 Star Hotel. Estuary is a 4.5 star experience, hopefully someday Yelp will give us the .5 option, because Estuary is definitely better than a 4! :)

I had a great meal at Estuary. I was staying in the Conrad and decided to try their restaurant. Given that the Conrad is a 5 star hotel, Estuary was full of beautiful art and high quality decor. My review of food and drink is as follows: -Conrad Martini (4.5/5; im not the biggest Martini person but this was quite nice - very good. A nice twist on a martini. I really enjoyed the dried raspberry along the glass and little bits of olive oil on top -rappahannock oyster trio (4/5) - a nice taste of various oyster preparations. Honestly, the typical, simple oyster was my favorite. Very fresh. The charbroiled oysters were tasty but had a bit too much buffalo sauce for my taste. The breadcrumbs were delicious though! -mid Atlantic tile fish (4.5/5)- really delicious. The grits were well cooked and seasoned and the peas were a nice touch of freshness and texture. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Nice and moist and flaky and I loved the tomato medley (though I wish there was more in the dish) and the spring radish/other herb was pretty bitter so I wish there was a bit less of it or it was more finely cut. A little bit of pickled veggie could have been a nice tough. It was a really great dish overall though and I would highly recommend. Overall, I had a great meal and I will definitely come back the next time I'm in DC.

Stopped by Estuary after a partner reception for a drink and some light snacks, and I'm glad I did. It's a beautiful space with a great atmosphere. It's perfect for a late night drink or two with friends. The bar itself is really lovely and the whole vibe makes it an easy spot to have fun with. I only tried drinks and a few small bites this time but I definitely plan to come back for dinner. This could definitely be a regular stop.

Each of these sorts of restaurants has a place in the spectrum. Our waiter - Keith or Kevin - I'm so sorry but I cannot remember his name - was GREAT! The three cocktails we tried--the frose, le jardin, and the clouseau--were all stunners. And of course the bread deserves another special mention, *especially* the room temperature butter. Thank you for not serving hard as hell butter! We shared the warm shrimp salad to start, and for $31, we were expecting more than a few avocado slices and 4 shrimp on it, but c'est la vie. The dressing was incredible, and the greens were crunchy. That's actually the only dish of the night that we thought was unfairly overpriced. One of us ordered the burger and the other got the rabbit pappardelle--you've got to get rabbit when you see it on a menu, which isn't often enough! There was a good amount of super tender meat and the pasta was perfectly al dente, all in a lightly stunning sauce. Chef's kiss. The burger was, no surprise, another triumph. There was juicy meat, bun integrity, and all the right accouterment notes. The fries are standard. Our daughter got their mac-n-cheese, which is probably just the gratin dish renamed. It was OK. We kind of got out of control for dessert and ordered the pot de creme, the cookie dough ice cream, and the profiteroles. Honestly, these were all good, but nothing that stood out as exemplary as with the savory stuff. Our only major complaint was the service. It was really spotty and while there was a very, very long gap in between when we got our water and then put in our drinks, but our mains came out almost directly after the salad. And the guy was just not very hospitable. Not necessarily a "bad" experience...it just could have been a lot better. It's a lovely thing to wander through before heading in to eat just a few feet away. The setting itself doesn't feel like Washington at all. With the charming little patio and relaxed vibe, you could imagine you're in another country, and it strikes a wonderful balance between easygoing and sophisticated. Little touches go a long way for me, and they nailed them here: silverware with the lovely illusion of polished silver and elevated stemware that added an extra bit of vibe to the whole experience. The staff were wonderfully accommodating from the start: everything was still soaked from the heavy rain the night before, but they went out of their way to set us up in a lovely shaded spot so we'd stay cool and comfortable. That same care showed up in a much bigger way later, when one of our party passed out from a health issue unrelated to the meal, and the team handled it with calm, attentiveness, and real heart. Now, the food. The brunch menu hits all the classics, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict with fun variations featuring crab and smoked fish, all the good stuff. I settled on the lobster roll, which was incredibly good, served with Old Bay fries that came out perfectly hot and crisp, exactly the way fries should always arrive, with ketchup on the side. We also tried the tuna tartare and the buffalo oysters, which were a blast: fried oysters with a blue cheese dressing and hot sauce, served in the cutest presentation in shells on smooth lake pebbles. On the drinks side, I had a "Bloody Margaret," a gin-based riff on a Bloody Mary, and it was wonderfully spicy, just the way I like it. The cocktail list overall is playful and worth exploring. Oysters are clearly one of their fortes. They focus on Virginia oysters, so it's a single variety, but they do a lot with it across a range of preparations. There's also a fun Virginia peanut-centric theme running through the menu.
