The joys of the desert with dessert. Cactus and Chocolate!

To the joys of chocolate! Have you ever wondered how your chocolate was made? Shall we come and explore the chocolate process? Again, to the joys of chocolate. Let the heart sing loud. All those wonderful machines are making chocolates in oh so many flavors. Where shall we start? When an individual walks in the door you are offered a piece of chocolate. Wow! So many great things happen here. As we made our way to watch and explore the chocolate process a wonderful employee named George assured that my chocolates are the best in every aspect. We can even see it ! Now that we have been talking about chocolate, let's just try it. Ethel's is the best in all things. The inside cafe makes one of the greatest hot chocolates that you have ever tasted. You can purchase just one chocolate, but that's not any fun! A few for here ! Then the box to go! The various flavors are over the top. You get to pick the box flavors too. Or pick one they have pre packaged already . Either way it's "da best!" Come and get lost, no funny jokes here just some chocolate and love. Find your happy and let the good individuals be your guide to success and h

The Cactus Gardens are amazing the botanical gardens are so well maintained. What an incredible experience loved looking at all the gardens benches everywhere to pause and relax enjoy the beautiful peaceful gardens. We did the chocolate tour afterwards so delicious really fun to watch them make the candy. Godiva has always been my favorite but the chocolates here were better. Everyone who worded there was welcoming friendly. The gift shop was great and the cafe Jill in the gift shop was so kind. Wonderful place to spend some time the vibe inside is so great. And there is no charge open daily 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Absolutely beautiful experience...enjoy.

For Valentine's Day and for mine and my LTP's birthday this year (our birthdays are just six days apart from each other), my parents decided to book a wine and chocolate pairing with us at Ethel M. My parents did this with my best friend's mom and stepdad during the holidays and they enjoyed it so much that they wanted to do it again. They didn't have any tasting openings on the 14th and after the 16th, so we booked for the 13th and considered this an early Valentine's Day/birthday gathering. We got there early (where we sampled some delicious milk and dark chocolates upon entering by a welcoming receptionist named Lawrence) and hung around the lounge area until it was time to go inside the tasting room. Before the tasting began, we watched a short video of how Ethel M got started, what to expect during, and the introduction of chocolatier Mark Mackey. Our tasting host was Alan, who slipped in some jokes here and there during to keep all of us entertained. We were given five different wines and five different chocolates to try out, which included a taste/texture guide and an aroma/flavor wheel. Chocolates included were Bananas Foster, Peanut Butter, Guajillo Pecan Caramel Rupture, Blood Orange, and Kona Espresso. My favorite of them all was the peanut butter; when tasting this with the wine, it was exactly like I was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My best friend's mom's idea was to take half a bite of a chocolate and then take the rest home for later; my mom suggested this to us but I ended up finishing it all (except for the Guajillo one, my least favorite). As a thank you for partaking in the tasting, we were offered a 15% discount for Ethel M's entire store and free access to the botanical garden display. I learned this trip that the botanical garden is only decorated semi-annually; Valentine's Day and Christmas. Having lived in Henderson since 2000, I think this was only my third time visiting Ethel M and the botanical garden. The walkthrough was short, but all the lights and decorations all around made it even better! Oh yeah, and we took some chocolates home too using our discount cards. We couldn't forget that! One coincidence happened here and we didn't know about it until the next day. It turns out, my former coworker's daughter was in the same tasting class as us and we didn't even recognize it until she saw my photos on my IG. How crazy! Anyway, the tasting was a new and interesting experience. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely recommend it! Also visit the botanical garden at night if you want to see all the lights!

YES to this place! For the chocolate store: Love their high quality chocolates, service is always so friendly, and you can really buy a box of whatever you want here. Prices do seem high for chocolate but let me tell you it is very high quality and worth it. I love the liquor filled chocolates and their best-seller lemon cream chocolate bar is very good too. We bought a big variety box of chocolates are the holiday and everything in it was good. When you walk around this store depending on the time of day, you can see chocolate being made and get one free sample. Fun. The Cactus Garden: During Christmas time it charges a small amount but is well worth it. So beautiful and glowing! A must do Christmas attraction! I heard they may do lights or something festive for Valentine's or a few other times a year but I do not know if that is true or know much about it. During the rest of the year it's free to walk through. Even though there are not regularly lights there, it's still beautiful and more appropriate for a day-time visit. A fun outing.

Happened to be visiting Vegas for work and wanted to do something to pass some time before the work week started but wanted an experience off the strip. I just happened to be a few minutes away from the Ethel M Chocolates factory/flagship store so I decided to go check it out. It was a Sunday afternoon and upon entry, there weren't many customers. I was approached by an employee who walked me through the options of experiences for the location and it just so happened their next chocolate tasting experience was happening within the next 15 minutes. I decided, why not, when in Vegas. The next thing you know, I'm sitting in the tasting room alone with the guide, Mindy, who was beyond amazing. You can tell she loves passing on the history of Ethel M and loves interacting with people. Talk about a great personalized experience! Anyway, the tasting was a lot of fun and very informative. It is a blind tasting, meaning they don't tell you (at first) what you are eating and really try to work with you to guess. They do ask if you have any dietary/allergy restrictions prior to the experience too. And because you attend, you get a percentage off in the gift store. I enjoyed the tasting experience so much that I decided to buy a few chocolates to bring home to my husband so he could try and guess some of the chocolates I tasted. The room itself is secluded from the main part of the store so you can focus on the presentation. It's a great time! I don't think you'll regret the experience should you choose to do it! If I remember right, I believe I paid about $25. This was the tasting without the wine add on (I was driving and second, I'm not a fan of wine).

When it's time to really make someone's day, go with Ethel M. This facility is immaculate and the service personnel are outstanding. The chocolates are unrivaled. Just bring your wallet. The best is never cheap.

The annual cactus garden holiday lights is nice. The entry fee is reasonable. The parking is challenging. There was a line formed and it took about 20 minutes to get to the security check point. You read that correctly. There is a security check in. They check purses and use metal detector wands. Did not expect that. There was then another line to stand in to pay to enter the garden. We decided to just go into the building. We got a couple of free pieces of candies. The hot chocolate was overpriced IMO and too sweet. Overall, it was still a nice experience.

We had a very fun and enjoyable "chocolate and wine tasting" experience and then enjoyed a free visit to their Christmas lights in the cactus garden. For the tasting, the wine selection is actually better than the chocolates. I know chocolate flavor and tasting are highly personal and intricate. However, it will be better if cocoa percentage is higher and they don't just give in to sugar. The garden during the holiday season is so beautiful to visit. It's decorated with 1 million lights and they designed it very well. Many photo ops corners and Santa was even there! The service for the tasting and all around are friendly and positive. I won't mind coming back again next year for the holiday lights!

Visited the Ethel M Chocolates Cactus Garden holiday event and it was absolutely magical. The atmosphere was festive, cozy, and perfectly done for the holiday season The hot chocolate was amazing--rich, warm, and exactly what you want while walking through the lights. Santa was there handing out free chocolates, which was such a fun and generous touch, especially for families. Between the beautiful cactus garden lights, the sweet treats, and the overall vibe, this is a must-do holiday experience in Las Vegas. Perfect way to get into the holiday spirit

    Wine and Chocolate pairing
    Alison M.

My friend and I finally pulled the trigger on booking the wine and chocolate experience and wow, very pleasantly surprised! The wines and chocolates were perfectly paired and presented. Our host Aida was fantastic! She is knowledgeable, friendly, answered all our questions, was passionate about what she does and I think she enjoyed the experience as much as we did! We will definitely be checking the website for future events. I must also mention how wonderful the staff was in the shop. Who doesn't buy chocolate when they are at a chocolate factory? Tammy Jo was wonderful! Thank you all so much!

Free sample of 1 dark or milk chocolate candy upon arrival. Dark is 65% Self guided tour through windows of the factory. We see mostly robots processing the goods, a tech person does walk around to check on the machines. At the end of the line, Lucy and Ethel picks out the rejects ;) All tours ends at a gift shop. I ordered a Mexican Hot Chocolate which is made to order so it is not fast food I watched her cook the milk, add the spices and chocolate. Upon exiting the building, see get to walk through the well manicured cactus garden. What a pleasant experience.

I love going to Ethel M Chocolates Factory & Flagship store. It is always amazing. I was actually gifted a small box of cacti in 2010 that used to be sold in their store. Most of them lived over a decade. I still have one alive from that box, now 15 years old and still thriving. Sadly, they don't sell those boxes anymore. Anyway, there is now a Tasting Room experience. There is still a free self-guided tour that comes with a free milk or dark chocolate. There's a small restaurant that had ice cream, milkshakes, cupcakes (we got 2 delicious red velvet cupcakes - yummy stuff, highly recommend!!), candied oranges, and chocolate covered marshmallows. There's are 2 truffle counters that have a variety of individual chocolates including plain, caramel, nut, creamy truffle, crispy, and liquers. There's an array of chocolate goodness- truffle boxes, chocolate bars in a variety of flavors - we got milk chocolate & caramel bars. They also had gourmet cocoa tins. As lovely as the inside & all of the chocolate divinity that is on offer - the outside is a treat for the soul - an incredible cactus garden that is free to walk through. We were there on a windy day when rain was forecast (but didn't come down while we were there), and so the path was nearly empty. There was only one other couple walking the paths. We walked, we gawked, we took selfies & many photos, and we sat on a bench and just hung out for awhile - it was an amazing experience!!! Highly recommend!! The lights for Christmas were being strung, but weren't lit yet & the garden was all the more enchanting without the Christmas lights. I loved every minute there! If you haven't gone or haven't been there in a while - I cannot recommend the experience of the cactus garden highly enough!!!!!!!

Every visit to Ethel M's feels like a treat. My most recent visit on 10/2 felt no different. We were on a mission, to help my husband find some nice treats for his colleagues for an upcoming work trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly employee offering us a taste of either their milk or dark chocolate. Is there a better way to be welcomed than to be offered free chocolate? I don't think so. In addition to buying some treats for the hubby's colleagues, we left with some of our own - a red velvet cupcake (discounted to $2 which was an hour before the store closed for the evening) and 3 of their chocolates from their fall collection - Milk Chocolate Red Velvet Truffle, White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice, and Milk Chocolate Cinnamon Apple Caramel - all delicious and perfectly evocative of fall. A few years ago, we tried their chocolate tasting experience too, which was fun, yummy, and educational too, so I'd encourage anyone interested in that to give it a go. This place is great for chocolate lovers, a fun place to bring out-of-town guests, kids, people who like cactus - a general crowd pleaser. 10/10 recommend!

The wings were a surprise hit though. My friend who recommended the place said we had to try them. But who orders wings at a Mediterranean restaurant?? Well, I do now. They are crispy and juicy. Our server was telling us they are fried, grilled, fried, grilled, and then fried again. Whatever they do, I approve. The girl who took our order was so friendly and helpful with recommendations and information. She stopped by to check on us multiple times, even though this is an order-at-the- counter restaurant. She even managed to talk us into dessert. If I have a complaint, it is that they don't have a lot in terms of drinks. The refresher was delicious, but they only have canned sodas (coke, diet, and sprite). Luckily, Abby offered us some waters which helped us stay hydrated as we ate. Overall, I highly recommend Theo's.

There's plenty of parking, however the lot can get pretty packed during peak hours. Inside is a cute little shop with soft background music. They offer a variety of cake flavors, and their cakes come in four sizes: full-sized bundt cakes (8-inch and 10-inch), individual bundtlets, and small bite-sized bundtinis by the dozen. They have Signature Assortment bundtinis that's ready to grab and go. It includes chococolate chocolate chip, lemon, red velvet, and white chocolate raspberry. There's Seasonal Assortment bundtinis with flavors like confetti, strawberries & cream, oreo cookies & cream, and whatever the current seasonal flavor is (such as Biscoff Cookie Butter). Plus, you can request for bundtini decorations. They even sell adorable merchandise and party supplies. I found some home and kitchen goods like mugs, tumblers, dish towel, and table runners, as well as wine glass, decorative platter, trinket tray, and beer can glass. If hosting a special celebration, there's party decor for helium balloons, banners, birthday crowns, cake stand, cake piñata, and mini vases. I wanted to try a carrot cake bundtini, but since they only sell them by the dozen as a custom assortment and made to order, it will take about 15 to 20 minutes to make. Instead, I ordered one bundlet Carrot Cake ($5.50). The cake was incredibly moist, and made with real carrots and pineapple, topped with a lovely cream cheese frosting, it's delightful and not overly sweet. Service from Christian and Evelyn is very kind, welcoming, courteous, helpful, friendly, and pleasant!

Banana Prepared with Nutella Bundtlet: Nothing Bundt Cakes (NBC) has become one of my favorite…read moreguilty pleasures. I especially enjoy their individual sized "Bundtlets". One of their recent "popup" flavors for late spring was the brand-new Banana Prepared with Nutella available from 5/18-5/31/26 (extended at some locations). Opening the container, the cake itself had a yellow/golden color and a sweet aroma with hints of chocolate, hazelnut, and cream cheese. The official description was listed as "A banana cake filled with NUTELLA® and crowned with our signature cream cheese frosting, drizzled with NUTELLA® and adorned with a banana chip". As usual, the texture was superb, with one of the best aspects of their cakes being the exceptional moistness of them. As for the flavor of the cake, just like the previously released Banana Pudding cake, my taste buds only got a vanilla/generically sweet flavor from the cake. Trust me, from a guy that makes banana bread and pancakes, NBC's offering has zero banana flavor. While disappointing, I expected this because of my past experience. I still purchased this as I just wanted a Nutella Bundtlet. I've also come to an understanding with NBC's definition of "filled" regarding their Bundtlets, like my lowered expectations for the banana flavor, I knew what I was getting. Yes, technically the center is filled, but it is by no means stuffed with Nutella. I only got one big bite out of the center, but man was it worth it. Especially when combined with the dollop of cream cheese frosting. The amount of Nutella drizzled on the surface of the cake was much more adequate than the filling and provided plenty of chocolate hazelnut flavor. Lastly, the banana chip did not really contribute anything other than aesthetics as it's too small and gets overpowered by everything else going on. In short, this is Doughboy approved as a Nutella cake, but avoid if you're hoping for banana flavor or expect it to have a core completely stuffed with Nutella. Yelp! review #20 of 2026 Online order April 04…read more I stopped by the 85°C Bakery Cafe in Henderson (673 N Stephanie St) to pick up a birthday cake for a friend, and it also served a dual purpose for a class assignment on experiencing Filipino food. We ordered the Ube Cake online, and the slice hit the spot perfectly. The cake looked beautiful - nice tall layers of soft, moist purple ube sponge cake with thick white cream filling, a creamy yellow custard-style center, and finished with whipped cream on top. The ube flavor was well-balanced: that signature nutty, earthy sweetness without being overly sweet. I've had great home-cooked Filipino ube desserts before. While this is clearly a fusion bakery version, it still captured the comforting, celebratory vibe that ube brings to Filipino tables. It reminded me of the festive sweets you'd find at family gatherings or parties back in my wifes home country. The online ordering was convenient, but the pickup instructions could have been better. The pickup area is on the same side as the drink pickup, which caused a little confusion during a busy time. Service was otherwise fast and friendly, the bakery was clean and well-stocked, and prices are reasonable for the portion size. If you're in the Henderson/Las Vegas area and looking for a quick ube fix or any of their other Asian- and Filipino-inspired pastries, this spot is worth a stop. The ube cake was definitely the highlight for me. Would definitely grab another slice next time I'm craving something purple and delicious!
