Hubby and I waiting for our food outside enjoying the sun
    Ariana W.

I used to live in LA and now live in Sacramento. My hubby and I came to LA on vacay and I knew this was one of the spots I wanted to take him to and it was just like I remembered. The fish was fresh, seasoned, and overall delicious. I had the red snapper and hubby had the catfish nuggets and hush puppies. The wait was about 25-30 minutes as they cook everything fresh and it was totally worth the wait. We let the trunk down in the jeep and soaked up the LA sun outside while we waited for our food. We drove from Etna's to Mid Wilshire and the food was still hot and fresh when we arrived to the hotel to eat. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good fried fish.

Came to this location for a friend. Haven't ate from this location personally but based off the feelings of a friend of mine, it must be pretty good. Not too much to say except that the food looks pretty good. It's time for a personal experience of my own. It all depends on what they fry the fish in.

First off YES YOU CAN USE EBT!!!!! You buy , they Fry!!!! Secondly the food is cool to order so it's FRESH!!!! I ordered the 4pc fish 8 medium shrimp with 2 sides for $18. This place was a slight bit more expensive than imperial fish but it was easier to get in and out. The food was fresh, hot, crispy and just good!!! Unfortunately they don't have package Louisiana hot sauce they give you some jalapeño sauce so bring your own hot sauce if you're an hot lover like me!!!! Overall I will definitely continue to come to this place!!! I ordered the red snapper fyi

Supposedly 4 pieces of fish, watery macaroni salad, typical Ore Ida fries, the best thing they got going is there Fried Shrimp.

I'm going to keep it real, I only come to this fish market because of convenience, and the food itself. The fish and shrimp is always tasty but I always end up having to take out bones from my red snapper. I get the 4Pc fish and 8pc shrimp for $12.99, they do not give you whole pieces of fish instead it seems like they take 2 fish and cut them in half and sale it for 4, it's a ripoff. The customer service is bad, it's ran by an Asian with black employees, so being in the community that it's in, the lady doesn't seem to care if people return or not. Online it says they close at 8, when they actually close at 7:30, I placed my order over the phone you can barely understand her broken English. When I arrived as soon as I walked through the door she yells "we're closed!" She didn't bother to see if we were there for pick up and even if we weren't she could have been more nice about it and said "Hello, sorry to inform you that we're closed" As far as the place itself the walls are covered in dirt and typical Michael Jackson posters, there's dead flies in there fish tank, you can tell they haven't scrubbed down anything and it makes me concerned for the kitchen. The fish case is broke down and decaying with giant holes, and as a stereotypical Asian they were playing Michael Jackson music. Before I left because my food wasn't ready wait times can take up to 20 minutes, several customers kept coming back in with complaints about their food, one primarily complaining about the whole entire order was messed up because of lack of communication, and she was unhappy with the portion of fish and I don't blame her. If you can drive an extra mile to get to a better fish spot I would highly recommend you do so, this establishment does not care about its guests.

This is some of the best fried fish in LA. I was born and raised in South Los Angeles. Like a lot if African Americans we've always purchased fried fish on Fridays. So, needless to say I've tried a plethora of fish markets and this is one of the best. Like most fish markets this one is packed in Friday evenings, so it's always best to phone your order in before coming. If you spend $15 or more you receive a free hefty order of French fries. My only problem with this establishment is the ascetics. The inside looks pretty neat up and rundown and could use a good deep cleaning. It's not to the point where I wouldn't eat there but appearance is everything. They could also use some more side items. In my opinion it lacks some cleanliness but all in all its a great place to grab some fish if you're in the area. Call ahead first!!!!!

I'm really starting to have mixed feelings about this place. I've been coming here for about two…read moreyears now since it's right down the street from my job at SoFi Stadium. First off, parking is rough. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with several other businesses sharing the same lot, so finding a space can be a challenge. Sometimes it's easier to park down the street and walk over. This also isn't really a sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal kind of place. It's more of a grab-your-food-and-go spot. The reason I'm starting to feel differently is because the last few visits haven't been as consistent as they used to be. I remember seeing the owner around much more often, and the food quality seemed better. Lately, the fries have been darker, the fish portions sometimes feel a little small for the price, and it occasionally seems like the frying oil isn't being changed as often as it should be. The service is okay, but it's not always the friendliest. One thing I've noticed is that when I ask for the fresh house-made hot sauce instead of the prepackaged packets, it sometimes feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff, especially one guy in particular. Maybe that's not the intention, but it can come across that way. That said, I keep coming back for a reason. The fish still has great flavor, and I enjoy several of the sides. The mac and cheese is probably my favorite, the collard greens are solid, and the fries are satisfying when they're fresh. I'm hoping this place can get back to the consistency that made me a regular in the first place.
