I used to live in LA and now live in Sacramento. My hubby and I came to LA on vacay and I knew this was one of the spots I wanted to take him to and it was just like I remembered. The fish was fresh, seasoned, and overall delicious. I had the red snapper and hubby had the catfish nuggets and hush puppies. The wait was about 25-30 minutes as they cook everything fresh and it was totally worth the wait. We let the trunk down in the jeep and soaked up the LA sun outside while we waited for our food. We drove from Etna's to Mid Wilshire and the food was still hot and fresh when we arrived to the hotel to eat. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good fried fish. read more

Never again! I ordered 2 sole fish dinners with fries and macaroni salad and a fish and shrimp dinner, the shrimp and fish only came with itty bitty shrimp NO FISH. The fish was tasteless fries tasted freezer burnt and the macaroni salad was nasty. Don't waste your $$$$ read more

My food was hot and crispy , condiments were given but I'm partial to Louisiana hot sauce so bring your own or buy some ! My chips weren't as crunchy as I wanted them to be but they were still very good ( I do not prefer krinkle cuts ) but I will eat them . I'm going to keep it real, I only come to this fish market because of convenience, and the food itself. The fish and shrimp is always tasty but I always end up having to take out bones from my red snapper. I get the 4Pc fish and 8pc shrimp for $12.99, they do not give you whole pieces of fish instead it seems like they take 2 fish and cut them in half and sale it for 4, it's a ripoff. The customer service is bad, it's ran by an Asian with black employees, so being in the community that it's in, the lady doesn't seem to care if people return or not. Online it says they close at 8, when they actually close at 7:30, I placed my order over the phone you can barely understand her broken English. When I arrived as soon as I walked through the door she yells "we're closed!" She didn't bother to see if we were there for pick up and even if we weren't she could have been more nice about it and said "Hello, sorry to inform you that we're closed" As far as the place itself the walls are covered in dirt and typical Michael Jackson posters, there's dead flies in there fish tank, you can tell they haven't scrubbed down anything and it makes me concerned for the kitchen. The fish case is broke down and decaying with giant holes, and as a stereotypical Asian they were playing Michael Jackson music. Before I left because my food wasn't ready wait times can take up to 20 minutes, several customers kept coming back in with complaints about their food, one primarily complaining about the whole entire order was messed up because of lack of communication, and she was unhappy with the portion of fish and I don't blame her. I came to this place because my mother and stepdad raved about the fish at this place. I stopped on my way home to pick up some fish for dinner. The place was clean. I had ordered 2 combo meals. One was 3pcs filet of sole w/3 jumbo shrimp with fries and coleslaw and the other combo was 3pcs catfish filet w/3 jumbo shrimp with fries and potato salad. The cook advised that he was out of coleslaw after he started cooking the fish so I got double fries..no biggie .The food smelled good but the taste was not good. the fish had no seasoning and tasted bland. The fish looked like he did a flash fry. It looked and tasted like he had mixed old fries and frozen fries together and cooked them. The amount of seasoning salt the cook put on the fries he should of put some on the fish. Some of the fries tasted like they were barely cooked and others were burnt and tasted old. The potato salad was a waste. the only thing going for them was it was clean. I will not be going back to this hot mess again read more
