Hard useless bread. No one is eating that crap.

These fries do not belong at a fish market. You went from bad to worse. Please go back to crinkle fries. Now I'm going to have to ask what type of fries you have before I place my order. IRRITATED!!

We were going to a concert around the Kia Forum last Monday and needed a quick bite to eat--preferably something flavorful but light enough so that we weren't feeling too sluggish before the performance. I found Big Fish Market on a whim when searching for places nearby. This place apparently gets very crowded for people picking up takeout orders, which is understandable since it looks like it hasn't been renovated in a while and there is only enough space for some grocery items on shelves and the countertop windows to order food and then retrieve the ready meals. They also offer extra tartar sauce! We ended up ordering grilled tilapia, grilled shrimp, garlic butter rice, and hush puppies. The fish is PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned with enough char and heartiness; it was out first time trying hush puppies as well, but they were very herbal and well-fried, perfect with the tartar sauce. I'm not in the area often, so I don't think I would come back frequently, but it's amazing if you work nearby or live there!

The food is amazing literally put me to sleep right after I ate it . I wasn't waiting for my food that long so the service was pretty good. Ambiance isn't the best but it's a market you get your food and go.

Big Market in Inglewood serves up some serious flavor--don't let the name fool you, this spot has a hidden gem of a seafood kitchen. I ordered the catfish and fried shrimp, and both were *fire*. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp 10/10, and the shrimp were plump, juicy, and just as impressive. Their homemade tartar sauce deserves a shoutout--tangy, creamy, and clearly made with love. The only downside? It'll run you an extra $3, which feels a little steep for a condiment. Still, it elevates the meal. They have signs posted saying you can't wait inside the restaurant (feels like a leftover COVID policy), but nobody really seems to follow it or enforce it. Either way, food this good is worth the minor weirdness. If you're in Inglewood and craving some solid Southern-style seafood, Big Market is definitely worth the stop.

The food is good. I wanted some fried whiting, and my wife wanted fried shrimp. I ordered a pound of whiting, which was chopped and fried, along with a 15-piece medium shrimp plate with one side. The fish had a nice crispy coating, and the shrimp had the same flavorful breading. We paid over $30 for our meal. The Big Fish is primarily a takeout restaurant. While the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is bland and unappealing. Parking is minimal but free. I'll definitely be going back when I have a craving for fried lake trout, also known as whiting. #KeepGoingOAM

Good food, but the garlic rice is useless. Perhaps if the rice was paired with the beans. But definitely eating the rice alone is merely blah.

This is red snapper and medium shrimp with fries. Didn't think of taking a picture until half way through eating it.

From the outside, Big Fish looks like it's in the process of being repaired -- particularly the window, which seems to be undergoing some work. Despite that, it gives off the vibe of a staple in the community. I called in my order ahead of time and was told it would be ready in about 45 minutes to an hour. When I arrived, the food was already prepared, which was great. However, there was a 15-minute wait just to pay for my order. That part of the experience could definitely be improved. On a positive note, once I reached the register, the staff was very friendly and helpful. As for the food, I ordered a 4-piece red snapper with a 15-piece medium shrimp and fries. The red snapper was seasoned well, and the fry had a nice crunch, but the inside of the fish was unfortunately dry. The medium shrimp were really good -- flavorful and cooked well. The fries were okay, though a change of oil and slightly less time in the fryer would likely make a big difference. All in all, this place was okay. I'd eat here again. If I return, I'll probably go for the medium or jumbo shrimp and definitely try the garlic rolls next time

Whiting filet definitely not fried crispy, and looking a little pale, but overall still good.

When we cracked the legs open, there was a thick, rubbery, shell-like layer wrapped around the meat. We assumed we had overcooked it, accepted our $350 lesson, and took it on the chin. Against my better judgment, I returned and spent nearly $385 on 2 five-pound bags of king crab and a bag of shrimp. The shrimp were fine. The crab? Same problem. Initially, I steamed a few legs for about 10 minutes and thought, "Okay, maybe I overcooked it again." Thankfully, I had only removed what I planned to eat and kept the remaining legs frozen. Today, I decided to test that theory. I removed three legs, steamed them for 5 minutes.... Literally set my timer for 5 minutes and what do you know, same exact result. As the pictures show, this is not the crab's normal thin membrane. The hard outer shell literally separates from a second, soft shell underneath it, leaving very little edible meat. I paid for king crab, not an expensive scavenger hunt for actual crab meat. At these prices, customers should not be sold poor quality, double-shelled crab legs. After spending more than $700 here across 2 visits and having the same issue each time, I'm officially done conducting experiments. This market has had multiple opportunities, and unfortunately, the crab failed every time. 3rd time's a charm because there definitely won't be a 4th

First off, parking is rough. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with several other businesses sharing the same lot, so finding a space can be a challenge. Sometimes it's easier to park down the street and walk over. This also isn't really a sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal kind of place. It's more of a grab-your-food-and-go spot. The reason I'm starting to feel differently is because the last few visits haven't been as consistent as they used to be. I remember seeing the owner around much more often, and the food quality seemed better. Lately, the fries have been darker, the fish portions sometimes feel a little small for the price, and it occasionally seems like the frying oil isn't being changed as often as it should be. The service is okay, but it's not always the friendliest. One thing I've noticed is that when I ask for the fresh house-made hot sauce instead of the prepackaged packets, it sometimes feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff, especially one guy in particular. Maybe that's not the intention, but it can come across that way. That said, I keep coming back for a reason. The fish still has great flavor, and I enjoy several of the sides. The mac and cheese is probably my favorite, the collard greens are solid, and the fries are satisfying when they're fresh. I'm hoping this place can get back to the consistency that made me a regular in the first place.
