Red Snapper Dinner
Eatstatus G.

Imperial isn't about fresh catch or fancy plating -- it's Southern fried seafood, plain and simple. The fish is crispy, the shrimp hits the spot, and the portions are satisfactory (not huge, not skimpy). Prices are fair, and it's exactly the kind of food you crave when only fried will do. That said, timing matters. This is a "swing by for lunch or an early dinner" kind of spot. After 5:30pm? Let's just say your fish won't be the only thing fried.

The food is mediocre. The fries were too tasteless and crunchy to enjoy. The breading on the fish is delicious, but mine was cooked too hard. The service was competent and helpful. It's a you buy we fry kind of place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has about five seats to sit and wait for your fish to get done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Fish and shrimp combo with fries. Seasoned and cooked perfectly!

I live very close to this place and have always been curious about trying it. Was a little hesitant due to the craziness surrounding the restaurant, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. We ordered a fish (filet sole) and shrimp combo with French fries. The seasoning on the fish and shrimp was delicious. It was a good as it could possibly be and was cooked perfectly. The fries were seasoned well and also cooked perfectly. The young lady working the front was very friendly and gave us a good recommendation. The only thing I'm upset about was that I waited so long to try this place. I will definitely be coming back any time I'm in the mood for some good fried fish. This place is a must try.

I've been coming to Imperial Fish Market for years, and it's time I share how amazing this place truly is. It's the definition of all things good in the neighborhood! The fish is always fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Despite the staff changes over the years, the consistency in recipes is impressive and keeps me coming back. Located next to a liquor store in a small lot, the setup is simple. You walk in, place your order--whether for lunch or dinner, no difference on when you can order a dinner or lunch, the only difference is the portion size. My go-to is the red snapper dinner with fries, but I also enjoy the combo of red snapper and shrimp without fries. The staff are friendly and efficient, making the quick service and easy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although there are a few chairs for waiting, this is a to go establishment[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . I'll keep returning as long as the food stays bomb.

I come here a lot !!! The fish is well seasoned especially the catfish. Lately I been hooked to the sanddab though. Food is always hot and is only made when you order. They will not have food just waiting around .. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is usually very crowded later in the day and mostly on weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's not too much space for parking though but you will get a parking spot [[HIGHLIGHT]]They got a new sign with good lighting!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Can't find another spot like this one anywhere. I've been going here since I was a kid and it's always on point.

This place is a hood staple. Good food but wish they gave you more for your buck. It's alittle skimpy.

Best fried fish in the city. I'll drive the 15 miles to get their catfish dinners, even if they're just warm by the time I get home

I get the family pack (20 pcs of fish & 20 shrimp) The shrimp is always fire! I'd go for the shrimp by its self that's how good it is.

The fried shrimp is fire. I always get fries as my side. They're pretty solid. Usually a long wait, call in ahead of time if you can.

Great fresh fish selection, they fry and season to your taste. They accept phone orders,…read more professional and friendly staff

I'm really starting to have mixed feelings about this place. I've been coming here for about two…read moreyears now since it's right down the street from my job at SoFi Stadium. First off, parking is rough. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with several other businesses sharing the same lot, so finding a space can be a challenge. Sometimes it's easier to park down the street and walk over. This also isn't really a sit-down-and-enjoy-your-meal kind of place. It's more of a grab-your-food-and-go spot. The reason I'm starting to feel differently is because the last few visits haven't been as consistent as they used to be. I remember seeing the owner around much more often, and the food quality seemed better. Lately, the fries have been darker, the fish portions sometimes feel a little small for the price, and it occasionally seems like the frying oil isn't being changed as often as it should be. The service is okay, but it's not always the friendliest. One thing I've noticed is that when I ask for the fresh house-made hot sauce instead of the prepackaged packets, it sometimes feels like I'm inconveniencing the staff, especially one guy in particular. Maybe that's not the intention, but it can come across that way. That said, I keep coming back for a reason. The fish still has great flavor, and I enjoy several of the sides. The mac and cheese is probably my favorite, the collard greens are solid, and the fries are satisfying when they're fresh. I'm hoping this place can get back to the consistency that made me a regular in the first place.
