Yesterday my family & I decided to give Etouffee Shaking Crab, the ambiance was nice nothing too fancy/ special. Restrooms were slightly clean, toilet paper was on the floor. They need to be more clean & be consistent cleaning the restrooms. My brother & I shared a bag, we got headless & peeled shrimp the shrimp didn't taste as fresh. There was some that tased even cold. We added Sausage & potato's both were good, sausages were kinda hard to bite into. And the potatoes were slightly hard. We got the lemon pepper flavor and it DID NOT taste like lemon pepper, at all! I was so excited to try it! Forsure was disappointing. The mild wasn't spicy, the sauce itself isn't all that it was very oily which kinda disgusted me and was unappetizing. The rice was okay, kinda hard and the sauce from the shrimp didn't make it any better. They do give out gloves which is perfect! Customer service was excellent! The young girl that sat us /server was friendly, very talkative & knew the menu! The owner ( I believe ) was very humble, he was quick to get us everything we needed. Okay, so I was a little nervous with the 3 star rating. However, I'm always down to give a place a chance. Turns out, this place is pretty great. I ordered the seafood fried rice, and it reminded me of the fried rice at benihanas. I was immediately excited and wanted to est the entire plate, but we had ordered a bunch of other appetizers to try a little bit of everything, so I had to save it. The fries that came with the sauce they provided was delicious AF. It was an orange looking sauce, maybe Cajun. The fried shrimp and garlic bread were pretty good. I would say 3 out 5 for those two because there could have been more flavor in both. We are definitely coming back here, especially for that fried rice and those french fries. read more

Tried this place three times, the first time was actually decent when they first opened. They gave a full pound of shrimp and the sauce was great. We thought we had found the newest best place for shrimp boil. However, the second time we came the shrimp was subpar, the sauce was watered down and each bag we ordered had barely got 8-9 shrimp in our "pound" of shrimp. We thought it was an off day. Finally came back to give it another shot, and it was so mediocre. Shrimp were tiny and overcooked and again we didn't get the amount that looked anywhere near a pound. This place's boil didn't look like that. No fresh garlic pieces in it or anything. The scallops themselves though were good and enjoyed it. My husband got the seafood platter with a chicken app & the soju. He loved the fact they had the soju and a variety of flavors. He loved his food as well and didn't realize his big the platter was, so of course we took it home and saved room for the popcorn at the movies. He said his food was still good, I tasted his fries and those were very delicious but I can't eat much anyway because of my surgery. But it was still good. I grew up in Orange County and I remember the first time I tried boiling crab. The shrimp, seasoning, crabs even the rice. This place literally took me back to when I first ate at boiling crab. Everything was so delicious and fresh I was so happy with combo 2! The shrimp was definitely bigger than served at places like kickin crab and the sauce/seasoning was much better than places like Blazin crab. The reviews that are quite critical are a bit much. However we did get great service on a Monday afternoon with just 2 servers working. The fries was one of my most favorite items and the seasoning was delicious. Went there for lunch today and really nice inside and great service. We decorate red to be messy and got the 1lb headless shrimp with two corn and three potatoes in garlic butter sauce. They even gave us crab bibs to keep clothes clean and plastic gloves but they were kinda small. We decided to just slightly pour it onto the table which was lined with thick butcher paper so we could save sauce n the bag for dipping. Shrimp and veggies were really hot and tasty. It was a fun lunch peeling the shrimp and dipping not the sauce! It was plenty for the two of us for lunch and we will be back. How to say this. For it to be my first time to any type of spot like this was amazing. To begin the service. The girl I didn't catch her name was awesome. She joked with us she challenged us in a way to try something new in a very funny and respectful manner and let me say this. She was right. She was great with our party and to my kids. She made us laugh she made us enjoy our evening and made my son's bday one to remember. Thank you to our server. The gentlemen was also kind and generous with how he serviced us. It was my son's bday and when we asked if they sang happy bday he said yes in a sense. I'm not sure but my son had said no because he was being a tough lil boy. Just turned 10 today. NEW MANAGEMENT SKIMPS & GASLIT ME. I went in for some fish n chips. Several times in the past, I upgraded my fries to their Bang Bang Crawfish fries. I asked for it again and the new manager told me they didn't do that. I told him they definitely did as it was something I've regularly ordered. He told me it has never been done. I told him I had shared photos of the meals on social media to my thousands of followers and brought business to the restaurant. I ate less than half of the meal. My total was $34.15. The service was good and the waitress did profusely apologize and stated that the prep chef had called out today so they were rushing. The appetizer Cajun wings are very crispy, but lacked any Cajun taste. That's ok because we smothered the wings in the sauce we got for the seafood. This really wasn't good, and I do not recommend coming here. I placed a takeout order over the phone, and everything is fine, service was fine. Takeout on a Monday late afternoon, it seemed slow for them, as there wasn't any dine-in customers. Got home and was excited to eat, I ordered a House Style 1 lb of shrimp with sausage and potatoes, some rice on the side and cajun fries. Fries I tried first, it tasted stale and seasoning just didn't hit, I've had better but I wouldn't hate it. I took out the bag of shrimp. Immediately I could see that it was oily, VERY oily and it separated from the sauce, so you could clearly see the how much oil there was. I made my plate of shrimp, sausage, and potato, and I immediately felt that the shrimp was hard, possibly overcooked. I licked the oil on my finger to give it a taste, and it was one of the worst things I've ever tasted in my life. It was bitter, obviously rancid and old and I could not go on to eat any of my food. I opened a shrimp head, and tried to take a nibble of the meat but the horrible taste was there and the meat was not soft at all, I couldn't eat it. It wasn't edible and frankly pretty unsafe to eat. I didn't eat any of the food in my bag and put it all back to return it to their store in which I kindly asked for a refund and they also kindly gave me back the money. So I had no issues with the service. I get it, why would I get takeout cajun shrimp on a Monday afternoon in Redlands, however this is a new restaurant and if they can't serve fresh food on a Monday, it shows how poorly this food business is run. With this experience and taste, I wouldn't go back here again, and I don't recommend anyone to go here. Seek to spend your money on cajun shrimp elsewhere. This is Asian Cajun!? Like the Chinese food version of Joe's Crab Shack... WTF were they thinking??? The dining room is nicely designed, comfortable, and clean, and the server was friendly and helpful. That's where the shine rubs off... It's very clear that this business was not started to provide great food and a great experience; it was started to a make great profit... and it reeks of that business plan everywhere. Let me explain... There is no cohesiveness to the menu, ambiance, or flavors. Dua Lipa on the radio, tennis on big screens, an attempt at some cajun styled seafood (but with low quality seafood), some artificially flavored Korean wine coolers advertised on the walls (for $12/bottle), and Vietnamese coffee (probably the one menu item the owner is actually proud of and would actually eat). Every little thing is up-charged. You order your boil plain with sauce on the side... That's an extra $3 for a side of sauce! That's profit over purpose folks... (BTW, the sauce was grainy because it was essentially a commercial spice mix dumped in some melted margarine). Here's another example: garlic bread is $7 for 3 small pieces. It's bread, garlic salt, and butter (but they don't even use real butter because that would cost a few pennies more). So it costs $2.33 for each little slice of bread (think size of a cell phone) that they coat with garlicky margarine and toast on a panini press (might just be a delux special edition George Foreman grill)... that's dorm room food! Most places would give this to you for free when you sit down, but it's not about elevating your experience here remember? The priority is ALL about elevating their profit. The only purpose here is profit. There's no pride in the food. And there is no point in eating here again. (There was no point in eating here to begin with. Total disappointment.) read more
