Hopping between wineries in Paso Robles, needed to find a place for a quick bite during lunch time before heading to the next tasting appointment. Recommended by Maury of Caliza winery ( a very good winery in Paso ), we went to this Italian Deli. Ordered 2 sandwiches and 1 flat bread to share. They were all delicious, especially the flat bread. All the breads of the sandwiches were crunchy, toasted just right. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely come again and try other dishes!

This is the big crowd joining eating besides us. We loved our meals and desserts.

We loved everything we are just want everyone to come out and taste it for yourselves. Even the desserts

You must stop in Etto Pastificio when in Paso Robles. It's kinda a checklist item, to be frank. If you arrive there early enough from out-of-town or want to sample their pasta first hand, then try out Etto Pasta Bar which seems to be connected to the market. I didn't get to eat there when we visited, but my friends did, and they swore by it. However, it seems like the other local restaurants that we ate at might be sourcing their pasta from this market as well because the freshness of the pasta we had could not be beat. I imagined what being in Italy would be like since I've never been yet. I also love how things are organized in this market. You can purchase dry or freshly made pasta in their refrigerator. They are labeled if you're an amateur eater like me. They also offer various sauces that you can use from tomato based, cream based, pesto, etc. with fresh produce you can add to enhance the flavors of whatever you plan to cook. This store is especially great if you're renting an AirBnB and want to take a break from eating out. Even if you want to buy some olives or make your own charcuterie board, you can definitely find your essential items here. We wanted to keep our Paso Robles experience going so thank goodness we had a cooler to transport our fresh pasta, cheeses, and pasta sauce in to enjoy that evening. It was so worth it since finding fresh pasta in Los Angeles is hard to find. Thank you Etto Pastificio for your offerings. You just raised the bar for me on what an ultimate pasta dining experience should be like.

Fresh pastas and sauces to go!

The Etto retail shop, adjacent to Etto restaurant, carries a nice assortment of fresh pastas, homemade sauces, olive oil, and pretty much all you'd need for a pasta dinner. Clean and well merchandised, this is a great way to take home some of Etto's staple food items.

When you're married to an Italian, and one who loves to cook, a shop like Etto Pastificio is a MUST! My hubby and I were visiting Paso Robles for a few days and made a point to visit this awesome Italian specialty shop/pasta factory/market. We were instantly transported to Italia, and missing the culture and amazing food there! Well fear not, because between the fresh pastas, sauces, San Marzano tomatoes, olive oils, wine, desserts, and more, we could at least eat like we were back in the beautiful country! Etto is more than a pasta factory (which is what "Pastificio" means in Italian for those that don't know). They have countless quality items, both imported from Italy and locally produced, to make some incredibly authentic and delicious Italian meals for yourself or tutta la famiglia (all of the family)! The selection is vast, and the customer service is friendly and welcoming. They pride themselves on bringing the best of pasta to CA using the highest quality ingredients, and the best Italian craft pasta technique and style (a little fact I read on their website). Etto is also family-owned which makes it all the more inviting to shop and eat here. Mangia bene (eat well)!

Came across this gem of a place and I love that you can find so many delicious and FRESH items here! Produce right as soon as you walk in, fresh pasta that is refrigerated and ready for you to take home and eat for lunch or dinner, bread available for purchase (ready to eat!!) and cheese and meats available to go with whatever you decide to eat for the evening. It's pretty small in there, but large enough to find some treats and get whatever your Italian (or not) heart desires!

    Sign out front...ramen too!

This is a very cool and inspiring Italian product store located in the Tin Alley development. It has all types of pasta, sauces, spreads and treats; unique and interesting. Having read about their pasta I purchased several boxes plus a bag, but yet to try them. They are available in a variety of sizes from small to humungous bags. They also had a very intriguing pistachio spread that I can't wait to try out. They have a woman walking about answering questions she said the spread is good on biscotti and other sweet desserts. It's a nice store and well worth the stop.

What's da matter u? Why u not shop here yet? Having grown up with Italians in Brooklyn, this place is a must for fresh Pasta & more. Since I have been busy, going all over the county as a MRC Volunteer giving out vitally needed vaccines, I look for almost any excuse to stop by both here & nearby Negranti's, one for my Pasta/Meatball fix, & the other for my Sheepsmilk Ice-cream addiction. The owner, Brian, and the other ladies who work here are quite nice & very helpful with tips. I needed to double check the proper way to cook fresh Pasta just to confirm what I read & did on my own. If you do not do it right, you will end up with a sticky starchy overdone mess. Brief guide to Pasta cooking: 0- Take Pasta out of fridge to warm to room temp. ideally. 1- Use ample water & do not place too much cold pasta in the water. 2- Water should be at a rolling boil & not overly cooled by cold pasta. 3- Cook fresh pasta for only 4 minutes or so, while stirring. 4- Drain & immediate put into pan with your choice of sauce. 5- Add some extras like chopped veggies/herbs & more garlic/cheese. 6- Plate it & add their meatballs or choice of sausage. My fav sauce type: Various amounts of butter, heavy cream, tons of garlic, onion, fresh ground fine pepper, Applewood/Alderwood smoked salt, Parma cheese, touch of lemon/ EVOO, Options: Shitake Mushrooms [or powder], White Anchovies, Red/Yellow peppers. Of course, Etto has a whole bunch of other stuff that will go with your meals, such as wine, anchovies, veggies, canned, or bottled dried goods. They have been doing a good job with being COVID-safe & please follow the stores safety guidelines, since some of the staff need to be extra-careful. Please respect that no matter what you believe. Also just down the block in Tin City there is a fine local Award winning EVOO Olive place that grows their olives in nearby Creston. Whatever you do, do not add oil to your boiling pasta, since it then blocks the uptake of sauce. The only other Italian Deli style places in SLO county that I am aware of, is at Guiseppe's Express or De Palos in Pismo Beach. GE has great NYC Pizza by the slice or whole pie, & some nice Deli items, but do not make fresh pasta. DP has quite a few ready made Italian dishes & soups for take out, and makes some nice sandwiches, but again, do not make fresh pasta. While some may think that they are getting fresh pasta or raviolis at some area supermarkets or TJ's, they are not. It is far from fresh and is merely un-dried pasta. While may be better than dried, it is generally too chewy & does not have the tender mouth feel of Etto's fine pasta. WARNING: Etto's Fresh Pasta is HABIT forming! Thanks Brian & crew!

I noticed that the restaurant closed at 4. And we got there to order our food to go at 3:10. I wasn't going to be that person who sat down and made the servers wait for us to leave. We go upfront, and there was an older woman who was on the phone taking an order, looked at us and continued with the phone call. She sounded like she may had been struggling with getting the order placed and figuring out the systems. We waited, no problem. Then I believe one of the other hostess or possibly the bartender came to take our order, had great recommendations, took my info and told us 10-15. Perfect. We then come back, and now the lady who was on the phone, messed up someone's order and didn't give him his change back and was struggling again. Then asked us "what we are here for" and "is this for catering or what". We said we placed the order in the restaurant, and told her my name. She then can't understand who took our order and how they placed it and it would've been nice to know that we didn't call but that we had placed in person.... Again... she looked at us before. As she gives us our bag of food, she blaming us for not telling her we placed the order in person. I would've liked to go back the next day because the food was good but I seriously didn't have the patience to deal with her attitude. The other servers were sweet. Besides her, the food was absolutely delicious. I would HIGHLY recommend the Mighty Cap Mushroom pasta. It was very creamy & had the right amount of mushrooms. My sister tried the Cacio de Pepe and it was very delicious and if you like pepper, that's your pasta! We also tried the eggplant parm and the portion was small but worth it for getting to try it. It was very tasty! Last taste was the beef bolognese. Sooo goood. The food spoke for itself. Delicious.

I was sadly disappointed with this one. The amount of bread that was on it was a lot. Usually most places that make Italians with hoagies, will go ahead and remove some of the bread so that it has enough space for the meat and everything else. This one was probably 2/3 bread, the rest was the actual accoutrements. I was not a fan of the muffaletta. But that's on me because I'm not a muffaletta fan. First went outside after ordering, but it was quite windy chilly so went back inside:) Had checked out the menu ahead of time, so ordering was easy. Tall young man was super friendly. Even brought out the food to the table when ready. - Fish n Chips = was so crispy and fresh, absolutely delicious and kid ate it up. plenty of fries too that we all could share - Fish tacos = got one grilled, one fried. Of course fried tastes better, but grilled was great as well. Covered in cabbage and special sauce. The sauce was excellent and addictive, easily defeated all the cabbage. And the fresh fish pieces in these were huge/thick, just awesome. The salsa that came on the side I guess is for the tortilla chips, since the taco had that special sauce on it, so no need salsa on it to detract from the special sauce. The tortilla chips seemed to be fresh cut and fried in house, was so crunchy good, especially when get a chip with a bit of salt on it. - Salmon salad = this was fantastic as well. Generous salmon pieces and the balsamic glaze was perfect with salmon and salad. I guess 2 of the salmon pieces were the skin, which was the best part! Such a delicous way to get your omega 3!!! With so many places to try, sadly only got to eat here once, but it was up there as a memorable meal, A+! And allows for you to walk off your fullness at TJ afterward, just perfect.
