Carne Asada tacos, too? Oh, yeah....
    Lynnette M.

Wow. Gorgeous assortment of Mexican sweetbreads in clean, easily-accessible plexiglass cases. But wait, there's more ... Come early for house-made atole, champurrado, and oatmeal, made just right and not too sweet. Also available and made to order are all of your favorite south of the border breakfast and lunchtime favorites: breakfast burritos (de chorizo, pollo, asada, al pastor); and tacos (de carne asada were fabulous), enchiladas, tamales, quesadillas.... My, oh my. Pricing for all this goodness is mind-boggling: two carne asada tacos with all the fixings, two LARGE atoles, and three beautiful sweet breads for only $12???? Wow. Oh, yeah, we unreservedly recommend this friendly, bountiful establishment. We've been back again and again!

Yum does not describe this place. I swear I heard angels sing when we walked in the door. This is definitely an old fashioned, family run Mexican bakery. Don't expect "fancy". The traditional cases along the wall of seductive smelling, freshly baked mexican pan dulces are fondly nostalgic and most definitely mouth watering. This is the divine stuff the nuns were selling for a fundraiser in front of San Miguel Mission that day in March. http://www.yelp.com/biz/san-miguel-arcangel-mission-san-miguel I have been trying to hunt them down ever since. Sigh. At last!

The tamales we ordered for Christmas were delicious. They also let us pick up our order a day earlier than scheduled.

The place is real clean, the people are friendly and their food is more than on point. Whoever their cooks are, they make that food with love. Their sign said they have menudo on Saturdays and Sundays. I woke up this morning craving menudo so I decided to go back. Got me a Menudo to go and ate some when I got home. Talk about some DELICIOUS menudo with all the fixings - cilantro, onions, lemon, chili and oregano. It has to have been one of the best I've ever had. Tasted like better than home. Fresh, delicious, not greasy and LOTS of good flavor in that soup. I totally recommend this place.

The food was outstanding, the prices were very reasonable, and the service couldn't have been friendlier. We ordered three breakfast burritos--one with each type of meat--and every single one was delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all packed with flavor. The salsa was fresh, spicy, and had just the right amount of kick. We also picked up a Mexican pastry, which was the perfect way to finish breakfast. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly...even if they were Dodgers fans! As a loyal San Diego Padres fan, I had to give them a little grief, but they took it in stride and made us feel right at home. It's refreshing to find a place that serves high-quality food without charging outrageous prices. If you're in Paso Robles and looking for a great breakfast, this bakery should absolutely be on your list. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in town.

I could barely see the pastries in the case. No worries though, I saw what I came in for. Purchased a French baguette for $3.70. Beyond amazed at the price. Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

They had the crunchy, flaky outside while being soft and buttery inside. This is now my favorite place to get a croissant. Tried the ham and cheese today and it was good and still flaky, even after being heated. I've had their plain ones too. Next time, I'll try their almond ones. That seems popular and everyone sitting near me, was eating the almond one.
