We could not get a reservation here for this past Saturday so we arrived at opening around 5:30. We were able to get a table but were told that we could only have it till 7. Which is pretty reasonable to me. From beginning to end service was perfection. The complimentary focaccia and olive tapenade is absolutely to die for. I will be thinking about his for years to come. We ordered the Pappardelle alla San Pietro- so good, generous amount of shrimp Linguine ai muscoli di mare e porri- made perfectly not too greasy Special of the Day pasta - cannot remember the name but my daughter did not love it, it was definitely a different flavor than anything we have ever had, and I'm glad she tried something new. I only remember that it had saffron, sausage and asparagus. The restaurant itself is pretty small but comfortable, warm and clean. A great overall experience and worth stopping by.

If you're searching for the best Italian restaurant ever, this place absolutely delivers--at both their San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles locations. Impressively, the quality and flavor are equally exceptional no matter which one you visit. The Paso Robles spot has a slightly more intimate feel, with the kitchen in full view of the dining room, adding a warm, inviting touch and a bit of culinary theater to the experience. I ordered the evening's seafood linguine special in a tomato cream sauce, and it was truly out of this world. Perfectly cooked pasta, fresh, tender seafood, and a rich, balanced sauce that brought everything together beautifully. Every bite felt indulgent without being heavy. What truly elevated the entire experience, though, was the exceptional service. The staff paid such close attention to every detail--from thoughtful menu recommendations to perfectly timed courses and genuine check-ins that never felt intrusive. You could tell they took pride in creating a seamless, memorable dining experience. From ambiance to flawless execution, this restaurant nails it. Easily one of those places you keep thinking about long after the meal is over.

Wow! Staying on the coast but came in for wine tasting. We wanted italian and my Yelp friends flagged this place first. So right! Small shotgun dining room with grill in the back. Nice windows outside Our server was excellent. Having lunch so the wife got the Caesar salad with anchovies. She loved it. I got Tortelloni di zucca alla salvia e mascarpone. Homemade tortelloni stuffed with pumpkin and ricotta cheese in a sage and mascarpone cheese sauce topped with toasted walnuts. Yummmmm They started us with fresh bread and olive tapenade. So delicious. So sorry I don't live here. We had another winery to go to so had a cup of coffee. So good. Excellent place!! I am ready to go back.

    Pappardelle with shrimp. Delish!

This was our second visit, and I would definitely return! Our server was lovely, and service is very attentive. They are waking by nonchalantly and ensuring you have what you need. My water glass never got the half way mark. The food is delish. Love the olive tampenade served with the bread. Hubby's steak was cooked a little unevenly, but he devoured it. (My sample bite was great!) Loved the veg that came with it, and he loved his mashed potatoes. I had the papparadelle with shrimp. The sauce was divine, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp were great. The restaurant is small and it can feel a little claustrophobic at times. Several servers bumped into my chair a few times trying to get around. And the front house stuff got a little over anxious to speed our departure, even though hubby was finishing his wine. Those two issues knock them down to 4 stars. The food and servers are top notch, and for that, I'm a fan!!

Solid italian food ! Locals love it. Recommend. Gets crowded even on weekdays so make a reservation. We are celebrating a monthlong birthday -bread and olive tapanade delicious -Insalata tricolore : fresh ; waiter plated it for two - Tortelloni alla Piemontese -veal stuffed tortelloni ( this is a softer suppler pasta than tortellini ) Delicious filling snd beautiful tomato sauce with mushrooms . Shareable if you had a salad . Waiter plated it for 2 - Pollo scamiciato alla Vinaggia - we shared and waiter plated it separately for 2 : thank you - Tirimisu : thick shaved chocolate atop! Creamy Marscapone is abundant. Less rum soaked sponge cake than most... but enjoyed this version also - we enjoyed 2 glasses of house wine - not many pics we were hungry and chatted a lot

Service. Atmosphere. Drinks. And let's talk about the food. Amazing and authentic A must try in Paso.

Ordered pumpkin potato gnocchi and orichetta pasta with tomato sauce. Both dishes are pretty good. The bread came with olive spread, love it!! Waiter is knowledgeable and can help make decision between tortellini and gnocchi. The place oozes comfort, and Tuesday lunch crowd is a bit thin at 11:40am. We came here for dinner last night and it was packed with a few people waiting listed. We didn't have dinner here. Went to the Alchemist instead.

    Penne arrabbiata (quite hot!)
    Leyla H.

It was clear this place was loved by locals. The restaurant was packed by around 5:30pm on a weekday. We tried the penne arrabbiata (spicy indeed!) and linguine muscoli which were both delicious. The lattughette novel salad (baby lettuce, which was basically mixed greens from a grocery bag) was underwhelming. It did have some fennel as a garnish on the top, but based on the overall menu, ambiance and class of the restaurant, I was expecting a more creative and crafted salad, not something I'd get at a diner. I'd recommend you try another salad not this one, unless you really love a basic mixed greens. In the couple hours we observed our surroundings, it seemed like the servers knew some of the people who were probably locals, as they spoke and chatted with them in a more friendly manner. The service we got as a tourist couple was pretty basic. I'd still recommend this place.

Service was excellent! I made a rezy for 930pm and the restaurant staff called to let me know that kitchen closes at 930. We had the seafood linguini pasta - the seafood was fresh and tasty, the linguini was lack sufficient flavor. We had the chocolate souffle - it was nicely plated but the taste was underwhelming. Chocolate did not run. Fancy interior and upscale vibes.

My party of 4 didn't have reservations but we were fortunate to have seating at the bar on a busy Sunday evening. The best food we ate was the homemade bread with olive tapenade. Sadly all of the meals were a miss. I started with the soup of the day, cream of cauliflower. This probably was good until it was watered it down. That's my guess, anyway. I chose the linguine with seafood as my entree. Unfortunately the order got put in incorrectly and I received the wrong entree. This happens, I understand! And my entree was generously comped. However the scallops had no sear, the sauce had no depth and I had asked for no shrimp and sure enough, I was staring at shrimp. I tried the tortiglioni del bun gustaio which is pasta with braised eggplant and the eggplant was waaay undercooked. The other meals were not memorable. The bartender was super busy that evening and over worked.

Tiramisu. Don't look like much, but it was fantastic!
    Rudy D.

Liked it so much last year, I'm back for more. I can say the one thing I'm not thrilled about is the space. I really didn't notice last time, but if you are a party of two, one will be sitting on the bench while the other will be in a chair. Server was on it. Explained the special in which we partook. The pasta we split was Carbonara with seafood. Cooked well. Didn't really catch any bacon. Seafood was likely previously frozen. Also ordered the veal chop. Very tender, but lacked flavor. Wasn't what I was expecting. Drinks were fantastic!

The inside is tasteful and fun.
    Dare H.

Whoa. I ate here 4 hours ago and am still full. The bread and tapenade kept coming, eventually and literally feeding a small family. But we wanted more and this cute spot did not disappoint. I got the homemade veal, spinach, cheese pasta, and it was Amazing. My family got shrimp pasta and loved it. The restaurant itself is authentic, but not pretentious, friendly, but not fake. The experience was outstanding and you should come here.

One of our favorite restaurants in Paso. Probably our favorite one since this is a place we frequent every time we are in town! Their outside patio is dog friendly and their food does not disappoint ! Their espresso martinis are espresso forward and packs a punch! We get the angnolotti with saffron every time we come and we always try various dishes. Service is great and pastas are made fresh !

My wife found this place on our most recent visit to Paso Robles - Good eyes!…read more We dropped in on a Tuesday night - we came in after a group of 6 were seated, and were seated within a few minutes. The place was really busy. I could see several flat screen TVs over the bar playing the World Cup, and the bar was slammed. We dithered over the menu - they provided a drink menu and a food menu. I ended up ordering a Trio - which was comprised of a Spicy Tuna sandwich, a Baja Burger (which was also spicy) and their Garlic Fries, which were served with a dish of a very spicy garlic aioli sauce that my wife and I shared. My wife ordered a Duo with a Vacation Mode sandwich which featured pesto chicken, hummus, olive tappanade, and garlic aioli. She really liked her sandwich. She paired that (Duo you get 2) with a California Cowboy Cobb salad, which as you can see in the photos, was quite large. The food was served hot and fresh - the fries were very nice shoestring type, and were cooked properly. I have had "spicy" Tuna sandwiches before - this was the first one which was really spicy - it was perfect. A nice slab of seared tuna as well. The burger was just plain good. They call the burgers "sliders" because they are around 3 inches in diameter. If you have a larger appetite, figure it out. The drinks were good - I ordered the Old Fashioned (if you don't know what that is, try one) and my wife ordered the more exotic Beauty School Dropout, which had Crowbar Pink Gin, Elderflower liquer, lavender and honey syrup, lemon AND lime juice which was served in a chilled cut glass coup glass. Yes, I know I used "glass twice". It was very tangy and refreshing. The place has large doors which were open with seating both inside and outside. There were larger tables for larger groups. Take a minute to go over the menu, or you might miss the slider of your dreams.
