Double Smash w/ Truffle Cheese Fries
    Karena S.

Was visiting a few friends and I stumbled upon the Wednesday $9 double smash burger with fries that the restaurant had promoting. We decided to give it a try since it was such a steal. We walked into the restaurant and stood there for about 5 minutes until someone greeted us. There were a few staff members that were serving food to other customers and just stared at us without acknowledgment. We kinda just stood there and stared back at them hoping they would seat us. We were finally greeted after another party came in and held the front door open since there wasn't much room to wait. Our server was great! He was extremely attentive to us and gave us great options for appetizers and drinks. I ordered the $9 deal and was able to upgrade the regular fries to truffle cheese fries for only $3. The burger was juicy and saucy and the fries were crispy and had a great truffle taste. I would go back again but maybe only take-out.

I love Eureka! We eat there a lot! I always enjoy this seared salmon with the exception of this particular meal. It was seared so lightly that the middle was completely pink/raw and a little too lightly cooked for my liking so I didn't try it. Usually, the seared salmon is cooked to perfection not too much not too little, but it is cooked thoroughly all the way through. Everyone has an off day or an off night, super busy, overwhelmed and overworked, so I didn't really see the point in making a big deal about it. Had salmon been cooked as usual? I have ZERO doubt I would've loved this combo as much as, or more, than the salmon, fingerling potatoes and seared green beans. Which is my usual go to at eureka & it's delish! (Do wish they'd bring bk the mashed potato option tho!) comfort food always trumps fancy fingerlings for me.

The Al Pastor Fish Tacos were a good, light, yet hearty dish to pick.

Gotta come back and try the burger options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe was cool here and you can see this is a hotspot on Saturday nights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All of the photos looked good but what I saw. The vibe was cool, staff could've a little more attentive, but it was late and they were pretty busy. But I still tipped solid.

Solid choice for lunch or dinner. We popped in early afternoon on a Wednesday and were seated almost right away. The hostess and server were friendly and attentive. The tomato soup and grilled cheese was delicious - the soup was really thick and good for dipping. The southwest salad was filling even without protein. Highly recommend.

We needed a place to watch our WNBA Champion Las Vegas Aces play basketball while we were in SLO. We walked downtown and walked right into this great place. We decided to sit at the bar so we could have a good seat for the game. The bartender was so nice and made sure all the TV's had our game on. This restaurant is a nice size and has a great location on the corner of Churro Street. Patio seating allows for one to people watch and enjoy the fresh air. A great menu including shareable plates, burgers, handhelds, knife and fork, salads, desserts and sides. They also have a HH during the week. I enjoyed a nice, cold beer and my daughter had a mimosa. My husband was leaving us after the game to drive home so he just had a coke. I decided to order the Fish and Chips and so we could share it. The Fish and Chips were served with smashed potatoes and the mahi mahi was just so fresh. My daughter went with the All World Breakfast Burrito minus the bacon since she is a vegetarian. We both really enjoyed our meals. Parking is a challenge and on the street or you can drive to locate public parking in a lot. We walk to downtown as much as possible to avoid the hassle. The vibe here is so relaxed and we had good service. I will definitely return here next time I am here in SLO as I saw some other interesting food I would like to try on the menu.

Great burgers, great staff and great drinks! I had been passing by this place for years and so glad I went in and tried it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a perfect spot for a lunch with a friend or dinner with coworkers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend trying a burger and cocktail.

We ate lunch at the Eureka! in SLO. Everything about the meal was great, from start to finish. We were seated near the window and the street view was lively... Lots of people watching, which is always fun. Hubs wanted a beer, but wasn't sure of which type he would like. Our server asked him a few questions and offered a recommendation for the Andersonville Boont Amber. He ordered it and loved it! Great recommendation! I ordered a diet Coke and the server also made sure my glass was always full... Refill after refill. Thank you! After considering the menu, I ordered the American and hubs ordered the wagyu Burger. Both were delivered as ordered and were delicious. Our server returned to check on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and asked if we would like to order dessert. As soon as we were done with our meal, our plates were cleared and the check was brought in an unhurried fashion, but also quickly. We appreciated that. We were in and out in under an hour and never felt rushed. We would return to Eureka! again. The server tipped us off to join the rewards club and we would get 15% off our bill the next time we came in. Which we will do next time we are in slo.

Was here for a celebration. My daughter and I split the crispy, roasted Brussel Sprouts, which were yummy! They had a slight kick (spicy), and they disappeared pretty quickly. We also both got the Southwestern Salad which was delish. My daughter had the Ranch dressing which came with it, and I asked for a clear vinaigrette, that was excellent. I got the Mimosa Flight, which did not disappoint. Our server, Rick, was super friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only negative thing I can say, is that the bathrooms need a deep clean. They are NOT up to standard in an eatery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They could use a bathroom remodel as well, though that's not the responsibility of the restaurant. Other than that, it was a good experience!

We've been wanting to try Eureka! out in our area but hadn't had the chance, so when we spotted one on our trip to SLO we stopped in for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is chill, and the staff were all very personable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The starters were quite small, but tasted amazing. Especially the brussel sprouts. Our mains were portioned well, and everything tasted really good. Prices were reasonable at best, but it's 2026, I don't think we're finding many deals anymore.

I could literally eat everything on the menu. This place is soooo good and the desserts are even better!! The service is great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's a super fun spot with it being in downtown and in the middle of the night life.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I opted to do a trio with the bahn mi, tip o' Argentina, and the garlic fries. The food was good I forgot to take a picture! The tip o' Argentina was solid with the garlic aioli and the chimmichurri perfectly complimenting the steak and the lettuce and tomato adding a little bit of freshness. The buns they use for all of their sliders are soft, slightly sweet, and don't fall apart while you're eating. The Bahn Mi was even better. I love pork but was a little skeptical about pulled pork on a slider riffing on the flavors of a bahn mi. To my surprise and delight, it tasted just like grilled Vietnamese pork, which was perfectly complimented by the fresh and pickled veggies and surprisingly hot jalapeño. Finally, I got the garlic fries which were a massive portion, crisp, and very garlicky. Everything was good and with such a large and customizable menu, I'd definitely return if I was in the area again. I also want to give a shout out to the bartender, Kelsey. I sat at the bar and her service was attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We got the opportunity to chat for a bit and I loved her vibe, so definitely consider sitting at the bar if you're dining solo or with a friend.

I don't know if it was because of the soccer game or if it's always this busy, but that's usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, our party of six was seated almost immediately. The menu was excellent--not one of those places with ten pages of random items. It was well thought out and made it easy to choose. My wife and I both ordered the jalapeño burger (I can't remember the official name) with a side of tater tots. My son ordered the tuna, my daughter had the chicken tenders, and my nephew and niece both went with the barbecue burger. The food came out surprisingly fast, and then it was time to eat. Wow. This was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. My wife would not stop talking about hers. Her exact words were, "This burger tastes beefy." I'm still not exactly sure what that means, but judging by how fast she finished it, I'd say she absolutely loved it. To top it all off, our amazing waitress surprised my wife with a complimentary cookie sundae for her birthday. I really wish I had caught her name. She had curly hair and glasses, and she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I was not impressed with their margarita flight but who cares, it was about the food. If you're looking for an incredible burger, great service, and a fun atmosphere in San Luis Obispo, Finney's Crafthouse is definitely worth the visit. Before even getting the drink, I got the check and closed out since I was waiting for a table. After waiting a couple of minutes, I finally got a table so I decided to close out while my drink was still getting prepared. When it came out, I took it to my table but it was not good. I told the waitress that it wasn't good and ordered a different drink and she delivered it but didn't tell me that I was going to get charged for it (and that was after I had asked if I was getting charged for it). After I told the waitress, she said she had to talk to her manager and luckily they took it off the bill. In terms of the food, it was okay. The lights were really dim so I felt as if I was eating in the dark.

Now I worked in restaurants, both casual and fine dining for years. I know you don't stroll into a restaurant at 9:45, 9:50 when they close at 10. Have I had customers do it? Of course, but I don't do it. I also knew exactly what I wanted to order because I looked up the menu in advance. All ratings below are averaged (from me and my bf): salmon bisque // 9.25 // very yummy and unique. my bf didn't think he'd like it -- he usually dislikes seafood -- but it was great!! creamy, clear salmon taste but no unpleasant fishy/ocean taste that a lot of seafood has. i've never had this anywhere else, props to the chef! thai green curry // 8.5 // my bf says it's a 9. it's good but i feel like it was not my fave, it's lowkey your good, standard green curry that you can get at any thai place duck breast (curry) // 8.75 // very delicious and unique, i'd rate the curry, rice, and duck breast as 9/10, the duck breast itself was a 10/10. the curry was creamy, and they were all delicious and fragrant, pairing well together. however, the mushrooms, carrots, and other veggies it came with are too sweet. they seem like they're glazed with a sauce that has too much sugar. the black rice was surprisingly very filling strawberry matcha trifle // 8 // yummy, nothing majorly wrong with it. reminds me of a strawberry matcha latte. matcha whipped cream was a nice, unique touch i haven't really seen elsewhere despite it not sounding difficult to make. i'd order it again but i feel like it's on the sweeter side, so you can't eat too much of it.

Food: started off with the brussel sprouts and man, those were so so good. Brussel sprouts, goat cheese, pancetta, etc. you get what I'm saying. Flash fried perfectly. We had the salmon bisque and Soup De Novo, which was a vegetable curry soup. These both could have essentially been meals. The salmon bisque was absolutely loaded with salmon. From what I heard about it, it tasted amazing. (I don't eat salmon). The vegetable curry soup was very flavorful and blended smoothly. If you ordered rice on the side, it would have been just like an entire meal. Tikki Masala Chicken - man, that airline chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender, great flavor, no a single thing wrong with it. The rice and vegetables were fantastic, especially the carrots. I don't know why they seemed extra good, but they were. 2 orders of the Ribeye. Once cooked medium and mine, cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, when mine came out, I immediately could tell that it was nowhere near cooked right. It was actually well done. When the waiter came back, I said "I'm sorry to have to do this..." and before I could finish he said "oh yea, that's definitely not medium rare, let me have the kitchen refire that for you". I dislike sending food back, but when you're spending $58 on a ribeye dinner, it HAS to be correct. (Note- the manager remedied the issue quick..came to the table, offered soup, bread, etc, which I had already eaten soup, so he comped 50% off the steak. Nice gesture!) The rest of the vegetables paired with the ribeye were very good. If someone told you the white bean puree was mashed potatoes, most people would believe it. Very creamy and delicious. The Italian salsa verde on top was also very fulfilling. Overall the dinner was very good.

KV Lemon Poppyseed Waffle ($15) with real maple syrup, Carnitas Scramble ($16) bowl with three eggs, salsa and feta, Bonetti Bowl ($17) of potato hash and sausage saute topped with 2 eggs, bacon strips, and chipotle aioli and, Biscuits & Gravy ($14) topped with country sausage gravy, 2 over medium eggs and two bacon. Getting the idea? Wife loves lemons and her love was reinforced with the waffle and I just loved the biscuits and gravy, with the sausage dominant. Both breakfasts were loaded with flavor and the freshly brewed coffees topped it all off. We ate inside, as it was chilly outdoors, but there are tables outside on a patio and deck. We will seek Kitchen and Vine out for a return meal and our guess is that the lunches will be just as good as their friendly service. Yum.

1865 is one of our favorite "nice" night out restaurants. It's not a t-shirt kind of place, and the…read moreambiance is a bit more upscale. I love the prime rib on weekends, and the prime rib sandwich other days of the week. It's always cooked perfectly, super tender and seasoned just right. My vegetarian wife enjoys either the elote dip appetizer or the taquito appetizer. Both are almost meal size, and honestly, her hankering for them is often our reason for eating out here. Service is always quick, efficient, and friendly. We've never had to send a plate back! It's also a great place to bring guests from out of town. They have a full bar, but we don't drink. Bathrooms are always clean.

Driving is a few minutes and walking is probably a good half hour or so depending on how fast you walk. It's located on the other end of downtown but still on the Main Street. The property itself was massive. We checked it out for a drink which they had a really nice patio. Hi top seating as well as tables. Also some of the seating had fire pits for the nice chilly night. Inside was pretty massive as well with main and up stairs seating. I believe it's also a full restaurant but we only utilized it for drinks before dinner. Menu wish did looked good but we only stick to a cocktail and some beer. Service was great and the staffs were friendly. It's was still a little early so the place wasn't that busy. Just from the cocktails, it was great. The property was nice and pretty massive. Location is quieter but still brought in a good amount of foot traffic. Now that we've been here, we know there's a place we can stop by for a meal and drink whenever we stay down in the area again.
