My FIL brought us here and can I tell you, 10000% I will be going back!! Not only was everything we ordered delicious, but the service was outstanding and the restaurant is so cute inside! As a family it's hard to find easy going sit down restaurants and this is now a go to for me. For drinks we got the Bee Keeper, the Perfect Pear, Blackberry Old Fashioned and Rooster Mule. The bee keeper was a LITTLE sweet for me, but anything with honey is a little sweeter than my taste. All of them were very well done and I would absolutely order again. Food wise we had the steak bites which was MORE than enough for a main, calamari fries, rooster salad with tuna, sausage and mushroom pizza and a kids pepperoni pizza. The steak bites were well seasoned, the sauces on the side were delicious, and the toast was tasty as well. The salad was ENORMOUS and definitely worth the price! The pizzas were good too, I'm not a huge pizza girl but I would definitely eat those again. We decided to try Rooster Creek Tavern on our way to the airport--OMG what an excellent decision! It was a whole vibe from start to finish. My daughter ordered the Tuna Poke--oh my... that's all I have to say! The presentation was absolutely stunning, and in her words, it tasted like five-star dining. My mom went with the BLTA and a side salad, which was just as delicious. I had the classic BLT with Parmesan garlic fries--everything was bursting with flavor, and the bacon was perfectly crispy (my favorite part!). FOOD: The food was mid at best. The pizza had potential but needed more sauce. The nachos were so dry. The chicken sandwich was okay. The bread on the sandwich was toasted too well that it was hard to bite into. There was also a piece of hair on our nachos. I know it's gross but honestly it happens despite having hair nets, it just happens. The price was decent and reasonable though. Maybe we just came on a bad day. SERVICE: Our server seemed like she was having a bad day too. No smiles throughout the dining experience. It always looked like she was annoyed and mad every time she came around. That part we appreciate at least she was coming back around to check on us. The manager or owner that came by to apologize about the hair was very sweet and like I said, it happens. No big deal (for me). They took it back and offered a substitute or another nachos or just take it out of our bill (mind you there was still a whole stack of the nachos left, we were probably 4-5 bites in), we chose to just take it out of our bill. I thought that was good service that they were able to address the issue and provide a solution. AMBIANCE: The patio outside is very enjoyable. I loved that it had a shade and a fence around it rather than being it completely open. They have inside and outside seatings, your preference. It can get pretty crowded and noise levels can get loud depending on your choice of seating. But it's a cute little area in Old Arroyo Grande. It's got its own charm and vibe. I honestly might try this place again one more time. I feel like they have potential to be better. I don't know if it is the roosters, the outdoor patio, or the old brick building, but something about Rooster Creek makes me feel at home. The casual ambience, the gentle ocean breezes that reach inland, and the friendly service all add up to a good time. Add some good grill food and you are set for a fun time. We arrived early and were able to park in back of the restaurant. We had our pick of outdoor tables, and sat along the walkway to the creek. Since we usually sit at a high table at the end of the patio, I had never noticed that there is a tv for sports viewing at the end of the outdoor dining area. I ordered my standby Sauvignon Blanc to accompany a grilled salmon salad. My husband got his favorite burger with a side of cole slaw. We were glad we were seated by the walkway since a friend stopped by and we chatted while we waited for our food. The salmon salad has a sweet side that I enjoy, with lots of strawberries and candied nuts to add flavor. We sat under the canvas awnings, enjoying the shady atmosphere and the distant crowing of the roosters who scooted along the path to the creek. read more

Love this restaurant. You can eat inside or outside which is nice. It's in the middle of the valley, lot of restaurants and stores that you can go to. Parking lot in the back, and there's the famous historic swinging bridge. I had pacific salmon, it comes with a good portion of salmon, steamed rice and chiliflake broccolini. My husband got steak and chips, the truffle fries was really good, and the sauce!! We had the soup of the day, Italian sausage with kale and garlic bread. Another dining experience at Rooster Creek. If has been awhile since our last visit. We called ahead ...no wait and upon arrival, we were seated at a table on the outside patio. The ambiance was casual and the restaurant had a nice "buzz" going on, as apparently other patrons expectations were being met. The nice weather made patio dining desirable and gave us a nice view. Our Server for this experience, Jeni Joe, held her own as far as her Customer Service. The highlight here was that the food was really spot on. Our 4 top table order consisted of Drinks first...a Cali Squeeze - 5/5 ( very nice and refreshing), a Mai Tai - 5/5 and a Beer. Appetizer: Nachos w/Steak - 5/5 (really great nachos, w/plenty of toppings for the chips), a Rooster Burger - 5/5, the Tuna Poke w/Side Salad - 4/5, a Cobb Salad w/Chicken - 5/5 and a Beet Salad w/ extra Goat Cheese - 5/5 (flavor alert...yummy). All dishes served really "hit the spot" as did the food presented for our previous visit. Consistently good food is a pretty good reason to give this restaurant a try for yourself. Located in downtown Arroyo Grande, Rooster Creek is place is such a vibe - I can't believe I waited so long to make it here! They have an extensive amount of TVs located inside and outside, perfect for catching a game with friends. Their outdoor patio is expansive and just lovely; we love dining out here for dinner! She reported that it was overcooked and she did not enjoy it. The lesson she took is: don't order fish from a restaurant that's mostly known for other things. The ambience of this restaurant is fine. It has a nice outdoor patio and it's located in a very cute area of town. There are many little shops and restaurants nearby. The service was fine, but the person who ordered the fish requested the sauce on the side, and it came with the sauce on it. The waitress apologized and comped her a glass of wine. That was nice, but this person ended up having to wait until the rest of us were almost finished eating when she got her fish. So it was a good time for four of the five people and not so good for the fifth person who ordered the fish. I would probably go back. read more

We arrived shortly after 5 o'clock and there was a 25 minute wait for the two of us and all of the bar seats were full. We ordered their basic burger and a pepperoni pizza to share. The burgers are half pound and come with your choice of a side. We chose regular french fries. The burger was cooked perfectly to medium well as we had ordered it. Juicy and tender. Comes on a brioche bun with the usual accoutrements of lettuce tomato and dill pickles. No dressing on the bun so be sure to ask for what you like. The pizza was thin crust and chewy with a crispy edge, We ordered extra cheese and I'm glad we did. The wait staff was really busy but our server, Summer, was friendly and gave us our time. That's fine, and we left a smaller tip of $3, since the service was poor. Later found the server charged our card $37 in tip to themselves after we left. When we arrived last Sunday as a 5 top just after 1pm, we chose to sit outside, and we were told by by the middle aged hostess with a grating obviously fake vocal fry voice, the tables had to be re configured to avoid blocking the aisle due fire restrictions, since my son and daughter in law had their newborn in tow. All the tables on the patio were butted up on the short side to the building or along the patio railing, leaving a clear unobstructed down the patio. So, what did they do? Turn one table sideways, in the middle of the pathway, creating a 'juke' in waitstaff's path down the patio, forcing everyone to walk around the table. To make masters worse they placed my newborn grandson and the end on the table. The tri tip spicy sandwich was not. If you're considering something to get for lunch, please kindly put your phone down (unless you need the GPS to get there) and get moving. Rooster Creek Tavern is a MUST in the 5 cities. The restaurant is bustling and American modern feeling. Indoor seating, bar top, and covered patio dining are available. It's not uncommon for this place to have a wait, but it never feels like a long time. No booths, all tables which means they can accommodate a party of any size! Every server I've had has been incredible kind, chatty (but jot too much) open to customizations and have incredible recommendations. This visit, I ordered a Diet Coke (I usually order an Aperol Spritz because they're so good here) and they served it with lime (the way it should be served!!! Haha). My usual order is the pastrami sandwich, this time I ordered the special, a steak sandwich. Even the sides are to die for. Another gem located in the village of Arroyo Grande. We ended up eating here twice during our stay in the area. The first night we were seated out on the patio which was lovely, and the second night we were inside near the bar, and both were cool. The interior is really nice and has an electric vibe, the patio is quiet and peaceful. The service was great both nights, and the servers friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was delicious. The first night, Mr. B had the tuna tartare appetizer as we were eating late and didn't want anything heavy. He absolutely loved the dish, so much so, he ordered it the second night along with a cup of the clam chowder which looked thick and creamy and he devoured it. I shared the nachos with my aunt the first night and they were really good. The second night I had the mac and cheese. The pasta was al dente, and the cheese sauce, gooey, creamy and the cheese stretched which is the sign of a great cheese sauce. It was delicious and the toasted bread crumbs on top added a nice crunchy element to the dish. Highly recommend Rooster Creek. Again, another restaurant in the village and parking can be hard, but both nights we lucked out. So give it a go, you won't be disappointed. read more

Has a tavern style setting with few TVs showing sports. For cocktail, ordered Some Like It Hot, which was spicy, refreshing, and sweet. Has tequila, lime, pineapple, jalapeño, cilantro, and agave. It's almost like pineapple salsa in a cocktail form. My wife and I both enjoyed this drink. Rooster Burger was massive. Not surprising given the burgers here come with 1/2 lb. chuck patty. The patty itself could've used more seasoning but the combination of bacon and blue cheese crumbles gave it a good overall taste. Got 'Chili Flake' broccolini as the choice of side, which was good. My wife ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which was excellent. It didn't look like a pie; more like a deconstructed pie. Had pretty standard ingredients like peas, onions, and carrots, but was well executed. Service was little slow but friendly. read more

Located in the heart of Arroyo Grande next to Centennial Park is this tavern with grand & weighted portions and strong drinks. I strolled in mid Wednesday afternoon with a few friends and we got a low top table for four towards the back of the restaurant. . It was busy for lunch but slowed down right around 2:30pm. Lydia, our server, was accommodating, knowledgeable, courteous and overall professional. We started with a few drinks. Initially, I ordered the 1944 mai tai which was way too strong for me, but the bartender got it right with a blackberry mojito. For food, I got the tuna poke which was light and flavorful. My friend ordered the Mac and cheese entree which was steamily creamy and came with breadcrumbs. I crashed my diet for a forkful bite and although it lacked a little salt it was worth it. . They also have a cute patio space and parking in Centennial Park's lot. It definitely has a tavern feel with a dark rustic decor theme, with pockets of light from the outdoors. Decided to go to rooster Creek for a girls luncheon and to celebrate a couple of birthdays. It was great we found parking in the back as a lot of places these days you can't find parking. Three of us ended up having different pizzas. Mine was a pepperoni and it was excellent. The crust was just right. Most of us had iced tea. The two girls celebrating their birthdays, received a piece of cake and we all shared. Our server was Lydia. She was excellent.
