Total Reverse Catfish - in the best way. As a lifelong Valley girl, I'm going to be completely honest: I wasn't expecting much from this shopping strip location. I thought it'd be a tiny hole-in-the-wall, but **Main Kitchen** completely blew me away. It's actually a huge, vibrant corner space (looks like 3 to 6 combined spots) covered in colorful paintings. The atmosphere is immaculate. Plus, as an elder Millennial girly, the playlist was hitting *so* right--it was 9:00 AM and we were jamming to music straight off my own Spotify Wrapped. The food is a total "reverse catfish" because it is way more visually stunning and delicious than the website photos let on. It just seemed like a lot of the things were housemade, and you can really taste the quality in everything: * **Chicken & Waffles:** They didn't have any bone-in chicken today, so they actually served me the boneless chicken breast (which I think originally goes with the chicken and pancakes). But honestly? If you can substitute it for the boneless breast, DO IT. Way better, no messing around with bones, and hello, protein goals! It's a perfectly flattened, crispy chicken breast served over a waffle sprinkled with bacon bits. They added a little drizzle of maple syrup and what seemed to have a little bit of a thing like peach bits--I'm not 100% sure because I didn't give it enough time to sit on the plate to find out, I was just eating it all! It was so delicious. * **Tiramisu French Toast:** My friend and I literally had to pause and give it a moment of silence. We were just in absolute awe. * **Chilaquiles:** My friend is a total chilaquiles connoisseur, and she declared theirs the *best she has ever had*. To top it all off, the service was fantastic. Our server, Donovan, was so attentive and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed--we just really appreciated his great service! I believe this is a woman-owned small business, and the owner herself was actually the chef cooking for the morning! It is the ultimate spot for a Sunday morning brunch meetup or a big group. 5 out of 5 stars--I already can't wait to go back. Go visit Main Kitchen!

If you love Main Kitchen Bar & Grill, you will absolutely love having them cater your next event! Recently I attended a party where the food was catered by MKBG, and it was outstanding. The deli sandwiches, pesto chicken panini, and vegetarian wraps were all incredibly fresh and generously filled with high quality meats, cheeses, and perfectly baked bread. Each sandwich had its own unique dressing, which elevated the flavors to another level: bold, well balanced and anythng but ordinary. The potato salad and mac n' cheese salad were creamy, rich and full of flavor, making them the perfect savory side dishes that trully complemented the meal. The fresh fruit and salad platters were impressive on their own: vibrant, crisp and prepared with top quality ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. MKBG catering is delicious, satisfying and a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Highly recommended for any event!

I've been to Main Kitchen many times, and it never ceases to impress! I love trying new things on the menu, and I've honestly never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. Today, I decided to try the Cuban, and it was absolutely delicious! I brought a friend with me this time, and it was great to share one of my favorite spots with her. It's exciting to see this place getting busier and busier, all thanks to word-of-mouth. It's always a good sign when more people discover a gem like Main Kitchen! Our server, Amanda, was fantastic--super sweet and attentive. Her friendly service made our experience even better! Kudos to Deb in the kitchen I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. If you haven't been here yet, you definitely should! See you soon, Main Kitchen!

Steak and Eggs Breakfast with Extra crispy Home-Fried Potatoes Steak was good but which they had an a1 steak sauce or another one

I got the steak breakfast with extra crispy potatoes. The steak was cooked medium. Everything was good. I just wish they had A1 steak sauce or a specific homemade steak sauce for the steak. We went around 11 and the Ambience was good not packed. The service was okay but I understand there were maybe 2 parties bigger than our 3.

5/5 this place. The steak was cooked and seasoned well. It was delicious and easy to slice. Even the fries was seasoned good. I'm impressed with this place they keep it good including the staff service. Inside is still clean and well lighted. They did a good job keeping the place with good food and service.

I just found a little gem in Canoga Park called Main Kitchen--and I can't believe it's so close! If you're in the West Valley and want a cozy, impressive breakfast or lunch spot that will have you coming back again and again, you've got to try it. They have two locations, but the one on De Soto is perfect for large groups. It's a small business, and I love supporting them--especially since it's Black-owned, which is a big accomplishment in the Valley. The pancakes are delicious. They have side mini pancakes that are about the size of your palm and the entree pancakes are HUGE and delicious. The catfish and grits sent me back home to Ohio and Texas. Yes the grits are smooth. The servers are nice and attentive. Of course it's a small business and there has never been a crowd when I come - which is a surprise based on how good it is. If you need it (hint hint), they have wine, mimosas, bottomless mimosas, beer etc. I have not been here for lunch but I will try it soon. So glad I found MAIN KITCHEN nearby.

Walked in for mid-morning breakfast. There was R&B playing at a decent sound. Friendly service. Rapid table service. We order the steak and eggs. I cannot emphasize on how good this combination is. From the steaks down to the potatoes. 10/10. The potatoes were not your stale over cooked potatoes at other breakfast spots. Super fresh and perfectly season. The mini pancakes were drizzled with powdered sugar. Definitely a hit. If you're not a sweet tooth the powder sugar is just enough. I poured syrup over one of the minis and I think it was delicious. One thing I can say beyond the ambience being super chill, is that food is fresh and delicious.

I recently stumbled upon Main Kitchen Bar and Grill for breakfast--and what an incredible find it was! Tucked away in a plaza I often drive past, this restaurant is a true hidden gem. While the exterior might be unassuming, stepping inside is a delight. The space is bright and inviting, boasting an open-concept design, beautiful art displays, and a genuinely cool, welcoming atmosphere. The background music was perfectly chosen, setting a wonderful tone for the meal. The warm hospitality started immediately; every staff member, including our wonderful server, Savannah, greeted us with a genuine smile. The menu offers a fantastic variety, but the food itself was the true highlight. We shared three items, and everything was executed flawlessly: * Belgian Waffles: Simply perfect. They maintained an incredible crunch, had the ideal level of sweetness without extra syrup, and were truly loaded with fresh bananas and berries. * Spinach, Queso Fresco, and Mashed Avocado: A perfectly balanced and fresh combination. * Chimichurri Steak Quesadilla: Absolutely heavenly. A special shout-out must go to their side of potatoes--they were the most perfectly formed and flavored potatoes I have ever had! We loved the food so much we immediately ordered another side of potatoes and another round of waffles. The service from our server, Savannah, was A++++. Her attentiveness elevated the whole experience. I am already planning my next visit and will be enthusiastically recommending Main Kitchen Bar and Grill to everyone!

This time was at the relaxing back patio upstairs. They have a big menu with a lot of good items. We decided on vodka pasta, charred octopus and beet salad as appetizers. For mains we had chef's special prime rib and whole branzino, also truffle fries as side. For desserts we had tiramisu and sorbet. They make very good Vesper martinis here, the mocktail I tried wasn't great though. The service was excellent and very fast. Keep in mind that the food is more of Middle East Mediterranean flavor than Mediterranean European flavor. This place has become our go-to restaurant whenever we are in this area!

Opted for the latter to celebrate my sister's birthday. They had some giant fans but they weren't doing much help. We put some drinks in and got 2 ridiculously expensive tiny hamachi crudo plates. Then all of a sudden the fans stopped working. Our waiter informed us that there was no power in the entire restaurant inside or out. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldnt places like these have back-up generators just in case? Shortly thereafter he came and told us LADWP would arrive in 1 hour which literally means 2 to 3 hours minimum so instead of having our dinner for breakfast we asked to close out our bill (which should have been comped but they did not even deduct anything for the tremendous inconvenience), after just two plates of Hamachi Crudo and four drinks. The bill was presented to me and I figured there's no way all of this costs $240 I said I want to see an itemized receipt they came back with a $160 bill so more shady shit thrown to the shade. Very grudgingly paid but just wanted to get the fuck out of there we went to Il Fornaio nearby and had a lovely meal and service, to salvage my poor sister's birthday. Needless to say but I will, the easiest one and done in my life and I've had quite a bit if you read my reviews. Inexcusable ridiculousness and zero compensation. It was complete chaos as people were canceling left and right and more people were flooding in as the reservations backed up I hope God helped them through the night. It's one thing to lose power unfortunate yes, but to not have a backup generator and then not even take care/compensate your customers is an abysmal excuse for management and a restaurant.
