UPDATED to 5 stars: the assistant manager contacted me, and took care of this issue completely. It appears that I was in contact with the wrong people (not willing to help). Management at the Naperville location prides themselves on customer service, you can see that tenfold. So thankful to feel comfortable to go back to this location and see Melania again! THANK YOU! I am so sad to have to write this review. I had been going to this EWC for quite awhile, I saw Melania almost every time - she is fantastic. One night, I was scrambling as I had forgot to schedule a wax before leaving for my vacation the next day. I walked into the Naperville location and was able to be fit in for an eyebrow wax. I came out with completely messed up eyebrows. See pictures for what my eyebrows normally look like with Melania vs. what my eyebrows looked like after this random waxer did them. Needless to say, I called and complained - wanting to make sure that this didn't happen to anyone else. I was told that there was nothing they could do and didn't even get an apology. Nothing. Obviously I was upset at this point, so I may have been agitated on the phone, but I let it go. The next week I get a phone call because it was my third "no-show" for my eyebrow wax - weird, because I had just got them done. I explained to the customer service rep that I didn't schedule that appointment, and we hung up. Three weeks later, I go to schedule an appointment with my new location (Naperville East) and I get told that my account is now restricted. So my account is now restricted after my falsified no-show and I won't be able to make an appointment (only waluntil OCTOBER! I have been trying to get in contact with corporate, as this is completely ridiculous, but I haven't received any word back. Just do not waste your time with this location. This location initially gave customers 10% off to leave a positive review. I fell for it but little did I know that they probably had to do this because of negative reviews. I have been a customer at this center for several years and faithfully renewed my wax pass annually! unfortunately will not be returning. My wax service has been canceled twice with in a 3 day span. I had an event to go to and it was important for me to get my planned services and now I am left with zero options. Not only did I think it would be ok as long as I got in immediately today, I am once again being canceled on the day of. I wasn't even given a same day appointment option for the inconvenience. I was told I could come up to the center for 2 separate appointment times. Who has time to do that on a Saturday? The other option was choose another day. Well seeing as my event is today, This isn't helping either. Not only until I wrote an email to the owner/manager did I get a call back now offering me a new appointment ASAP for all of my services and $10 off. Why wasn't I initially offered this option? This is how you would think they'd treat loyal customers! I kindly declined the offer and took my business to another franchise who scheduled me within 2 hours notice. Now that's service. I have referred so many people to this particular location and will definitely be informing them to switch immediately because clearly your services are undependable. I have been going to Tiffany for over 2 years and give her FIVE STARS EVERY TIME!!! Tiffany is AMAZING, GENTLE, HONEST, and SO FRIENDLY!! I really can't brag about her enough!!!! She's the only one who can shape my eyebrows correctly and make them perfect!! I have no idea how she does it!!! 10 stars!! This location is always clean also! Tiffany changes the paper in front of me and doesn't double dip the stick into the wax! Even when I had to see someone else due to scheduling, the waxer was friendly, talkative, didn't double dip into the wax, and changed the sheet paper! If doing multiple areas and the paper gets too crumpled, they change the paper in the middle! It's very much appreciated!!They are very clean and that's SO important for a wax salon! The receptionists are why I only gave this location 4 stars. They are very unprofessional and caddy with each other. They were talking poorly about other members (waxers and receptionists), discussing their pay, their coworkers pay, how they could cut hours, and even talking about other's availability. I went in yesterday as a first time customer based on recommendations from most people I know. I usually go to a salon about an hour from my house, and was excited to try a place that was so close to home. I was also excited that hard wax would be used, as it is known that hard wax is less painful than hot wax since it doesn't adhere to the skin. I arrived for my appointment only to find out that the app had me scheduled for Saturday.. Luckily the girls were able to fit me in in about 10 minutes. I was introduced to my esthetician, who seemed nice, but I never caught her name since she whispered it. It started with an A. She took me back to the room, and told me she would turn around as I undressed. This should have been my first sign to walk away. I have never in my life had anyone stay in the room while I strip down before my wax. I have received a towel to cover up at every other place I have been to and given privacy while undressing. This was unprofessional. She explains to me that it is a hard wax, and the procedure, confirming that I have had a Brazillian in the past. Comments on how it looks like it has been a long time (unprofessional issue number 2) and continued to make comments about how coarse my hair was throughout my visit. I have always had coarse hair. Even when I don't miss a wax my hair grows back thick and coarse. Which is why I get waxed. She placed the wax on me, in longer strips than I have ever had done before, and proceeded to blow on them to get them to harden... When she was pulling the wax off, she would do it slowly and not hold my skin taut. I could feel wax being left behind during the procedure. All she wanted to do was question me about everything in my life. I just wanted her to do her job. After a few strip of wax had been pulled up to asked me what was wrong, and I told her "this is the worst waxing experience I have ever had." She asked if I wanted to continue and I told her to just finish it so I can go. She told me she didn't want to finish if I was in too much paid. The pain I was experiencing was because she was pulling slowly, and doing larger sections than she should have. I told her fine, clean up whatever is still on me, and I will go. She put the after wax cream on me and sent me on my way. I offered to pay for the procedure that was completed (bikini line), and was told don't worry about it. When I got home, I found pieces of wax stuck to my pubic hair all over. I ended up having to use trimmers to buzz it all out. I now cannot get waxed until the hair grows out again, when I had planned on going to my usual salon next week to get everything finished and fixed. I am now stuck with stubble that is poking me. I have never had so much redness or bumps on my bikini line, or so much pain while being waxed. Even when I have done it myself with cheap wax. The woman who was waxing me has no right to be waxing anyone's vagina. I would be surprised if she could even do eyebrows properly. read more

Cant speak to the service since I was never able to get an appt. I made an appt for 10am today. I got a voicemail at 8:30 that the person I had my appt with wasn't in and I needed a new appt and she listed several open appt times. I called back and got an automated machine tell me to "call back during normal business hours." I called at 9 and told her I wanted 9:45a which was in the voicemail as an open, available open time. She said nope, that was a glitch, not available. She said I can always "call and leave a voicemail." I explained a few times about the automated service not letting me leave a voicemail. So what the heck. I get it wasn't her fault, but figure out your phone service and your "glitches." I'd literally go anywhere else at this point after that interaction. read more

I've been going here since spring 2017, have had 3 cerologists & they're all extremely courteous & skilled. I enjoy chatting with them immensely! I had never been to this salon before... The woman I usually go to for waxing was out of town. I was going on vacation and I needed a wax stat. I called around to local salons asking for pricing and availability and EWC had an opening right away for me and gave me half off my Brazilian for being a first time customer! Only $23!! Insane seeing as most places charge upwards of $60! The atmosphere is very nice, clean, and professional. They were a wee bit pushy with the sales packages and products, but all in all, it was pretty good. The hard wax was a new concept for me, I'd never heard of it. I hurts way less than traditional soft wax and doesn't leave you inflamed and sticky. My wax technician - Jade - was very nice, thorough, and professional. Overall great experience. I recommend it to anyone. If I am ever in a bind again I will be returning here for sure. read more

I love European Wax Center. I usually go to the ones in the Bay Area (San Francisco). I was really surprised to see how this place have very few and bad reviews. But since I was in town for Thanksgiving and needed a wax, I decided to give it a try anyway since hey, I figure they would use the same wax, which is the best part. It's this dark purple hard wax that seriously is almost painless if you have ever tried any other kinda of waxes. I had Salina and she was pretty awesome. Friendly and through. I got a half arm and Brazilian and was out of there in 30 minutes with a happy face. They do try to sell you products but they are actually very good. I have the serum, body wash and exfoliate. All my friends that goes there regularly loves the wax too. Do take advantage of the first time discount and try it out. Ohh and PS the place seemed very clean to me. Not sure what one of the yelp review was talking about. I almost was hesitant to come just because of that one review. I'm glad I gave it benefit of doubt!!! :) read more
