Posting this for both the westlake and lakewood office…read more After a months long saga I finally have a functional pair of glasses. It started out at their Lakewood location when I got my first pair of glasses that broke almost immediately. Fine. We reorder a new pair. I go in 3 weeks later to check in on the contacts. They haven't even reordered the glasses. So we try this again. Get the glasses 4 weeks later but they break again. Request a brand new pair. Have to go to their Westlake office with larger selection. Charge me $50 for a "refitting" despite the fact they sold me crappy glasses. Wait another month for the new glasses. I call the Westlake office a month later and they apparently just came in and "are here for pickup." Go to the Westlake office and find out they are actually at the Lakewood office. At the Lakewood office and they say their opticians are very busy and we will need time to adjust the frames. By this point, my whole afternoon has been shot. I explain to the person that I am pretty frustrated after having been at this for over an hour and if they can get to things quicker. See on the opticians desk that the lady at the front desk messaged her on teams saying I needed a refitting and had a "huge attitude." Some of these things were not their fault. A lot of them are. I will not be coming back next year.

My frames broke after 14 months of wear. I took them back and because they couldn't repair them and…read moredidn't have another pair they popped my lenses out and put them in a "loner" pair so I could see until the next pair came in. I assumed that replacement would be their responsibility because all of the other frames I've worn in the past (from other businesses and brands) lasted four to five years holding up to lens changes etc. I received a message that my replacement frames were in. When I returned to pick them up the woman looked at me and with a condescending voice said "those lenses won't fit your frame." What was I supposed to say to that? They ordered them? Upon inspection we discovered that they ordered the wrong replacement frames. SMH. The condescending woman didn't apologize for being rude, for ordering the wrong pair or inconveniencing me. When I went in to pick them up the second time, they charged me for shipping them. It seemed high for 1 small box; $25, but I felt that I shouldn't have to pay for anything seeing it was a faulty product. But they explained the 12 month warranty was over. First time they mentioned that btw. I paid the 25$ but explained other frames I owned held up and I felt it was a faulty product. Emphasizing that I was just making a point that they ought to consider other manufacturers. I've worn Prada and Oliver Peeples with no issues. The lady shared she would have someone call me. As I was walking out the same condescending person said to the other employee, not once but twice and loud enough for me to hear, "we will need to fill out a form to cover these (the loner pair) at a loss." Duh. I hope you wouldn't try and resell the loner pair frames that I was wearing. But you don't say it out loud in front of the customer like it's their fault. Sheesh. When the person did call me, as they were chewing a mouthful of food, asked if I had a question. I responded I didn't have any questions, that I assumed she was calling me to rectify the problem. Nope. "They stand behind their product" and "they could have charged me for the replacement frames due to the warranty being over" and insinuated that I should be thankful they were only charging for shipping." $25 dollars to ship a pair of glasses. Making me wonder if I paid for the first and second shipping cost. I really didn't have any complaint with the optometrist. She seems knowledgeable and thorough which is why I gave Berris Optical 2 stars rather than 1. However, I believe she is responsible for the staff. Either way, I will not be returning and would not recommend this business.

They try to upsell you on literally everything rather than taking your needs into consideration. My insurance covers a basic exam but when I went in I was charged over $50 for the exam and when I asked why they told me because they automatically added on an extra service -- this should have been disclosed prior to the start of the exam. When I express this they acted like I was the crazy one. I had some issues with the lenses once I received my glasses and went in to try to resolve the issue which was entirely their fault, but it took them an arm and a leg to admit that. And even after recognizing it was their fault, they were so hesitant and trying to actually fix the problem, so I gave up. They had improperly marked the optical center on both lenses, which intern made everything blurry -- at first they tried to say it wasn't their fault, but that I so used to wearing glasses that were incorrectly made for my vision that I couldn't recognize what proper vision felt like. I really wanted to support local, which is why I went here in the first place, but I'm really turned off at how inconsiderate and out of touch the staff are. I would avoid at all costs.

Far too many clients/patients to doctor ratio. 2. Dr. Loizos and Dr. Bedell were more than 45 minutes to an hour late for each appointment my wife was scheduled to attend. 3. There is absolutely no customer/patient follow up. This is very alarming for cataract surgery is pretty serious business. We are talking about a person's eyesight for goodness sake. 4. Dr. Loizos seemed to fumble his way through my wife's procedures, kind of guessing what to do next. 5. Dr. Bedell has excellent patient care, but is hesitant to do anything and seems incompetent at times. 6. My wife never received the results she was looking for. No, we don't wanna go back and have them fix her eyes again for we have lost faith and confidence In their abilities. 7. This facility takes advantage of elderly people and has them waiting around all day!! Please reread item number 1. 8. The receptionists are rude and crude. 9. The facility itself is dated. Old equipment, old computers, old bathrooms. Just plain old. Not too sure what you're doing with all of the patient's money. 10. Hate is a strong word. I hated having my wife treated here! 11. No one in the entire organization returns for calls or answers the phone. Often times you are put on Terminal hold. I've nicknamed it, the phone tree of death. 12. If you read all through this and you still want to use Fairview Park Eye Center, good luck!!
