Dealing with an accident is never a pleasant experience, but EV Central made the entire process much easier for me. I'm new to SF and wasn't familiar with local body shops, so I started by searching on Google and reading reviews on both Google and Yelp. EV Central had fewer reviews than some of the other shops in the area, but the reviews they did have were excellent, and the before-and-after photos of their repair work gave me confidence. The name "EV Central" also stood out to me since I drive an EV and wanted a shop that understood EVs. When I called, I was connected with Randy, who was just as friendly and helpful over the phone as he was in person. He walked me through the entire process step-by-step, including the inspection, insurance supplement, parts ordering, repair timeline, and when I could expect my car to be ready. Everything happened exactly as he explained. What I really appreciated was that they didn't just look at the bumper and visible accident damage. They inspected other areas of the car as well to make sure there weren't any additional issues. They ended up finding accident-related damage that another shop could have easily missed, and they were able to get everything repaired properly and covered. Johnson and the office manager also kept me updated and informed throughout the process via text, which made the experience much less stressful. PLUS, they helped cover some of the deductible, which was a huge added bonus. When it was time to pick up the car, it was fully repaired, fully detailed, and they had even applied ceramic coating to the paint, which is not something most body shops would normally do. Brought my Model Y to EV Central for an end-of-warranty inspection, and I'm so glad I did - it genuinely saved me thousands of dollars. I had been dealing with a clicking/knocking noise when turning or on an incline for a while, but Tesla had repeatedly failed to replicate it and wouldn't take action. Randy and his team not only replicated the noise under two different conditions, but documented torn lateral link and compliance arm bushings on both sides with clear photos. That documentation made all the difference. I was able to bring it back to Tesla and get the front lower lateral links, compliance arms, and an alignment covered under warranty - something I hadn't been able to accomplish on my own. I drive a Toyota Prius Prime SE (hybrid) and got into a minor car accident where my driver's side mirror was completely broken leading also to a malfunctioning blind spot detector. The team at EV Central was responsive (I used email), friendly, and knowledgeable to help fix a dent in my bumper after getting bumped by a large truck on the freeway. They even went above and beyond by giving the car a car wash and vacuuming inside. The cherry on top was as I was checking out, they gave me a goodie bag with a microfiber cloth and spray because it's important not to let the bumper get dirty or stained for the first month. I was having problems with my 2016 Tesla and the local dealership wanted more to fix it than the car was worth. I searched the internet for a company that would work on my Tesla. Even though i live in Marin County, the EV Central website looked favorable. They were very booked up but got me in, gave me an estimate of under $1,000.00. Fixed the car within 24 hours, provided me photos of the problem, updates of how the fix was going and were excellent communicators. Randy as part owner and the general manager was terrific. I have never tipped an automotive repair shop but i did here. Randy tried to give me back half the tip when i asked it to go the person who did the work. He was almost offended because he was proud that they pay their employees well. When I was searching for a mechanic and stumbled across EV Central I questioned the legitimacy of its 5 star rating. What mechanic only has 5 star reviews??? Well after experiencing them for myself I understand their positive feedback. I took my Hyundai Ioniq in because the check engine light was on. EV did the diagnostic test and it turns out the warning signal had turned on because my gas cap wasn't closed properly. They didn't charge me the diagnostic fee and I was in and out in 15 minutes. The customer service I received at EV Central was above and beyond. I came in to EV Central when my Tesla started making loud squeaking noises. I was able to get an appt the next week to take it in for a diagnosis. The diagnosis was free and I met Kevin who drove around the block and on the highway to listen to the problem. He explained what he thought the issue might be and how these things happen. Then they took a closer look at the suspension system, determined what the problem was and sent me photos of the torn components. Kevin followed up with a call where he told me what was wrong and what their recommendations were. I found out that this part was in a Tesla recall so Tesla would fix the issue for the cost of parts but I was extremely appreciative of the customer service and thoroughness of my experience at EV Central.
