She is extremely ethical and meticulous - every time I leave her facials my skin is glowing, and she does an incredible job removing acne. She also recommends skin products and only sells items she truly believes in. Since she works with your skin, she gives a much better recommendation than what you could get in a store. She's also amazing at waxing - she makes a perfect arc for the eyebrows, and is very thorough with everything else. I used to go to Eva regularly, but then my wallet took a hit, and I've been cutting back. Meanwhile my pores are crying out in agony and zits have been popping up all over my face - so not awesome or cute. :( But there's a reason why appointments with Eva need to be booked at least a month in advance. She's the real deal. She isn't your run of the mill technician. She holds an advanced science degree from back in Hungary. She uses that scientific knowledge blended with a holistic whole-body approach to try to improve your complexion and get your skin looking as healthy as it can be. If I could, I'd be visiting Eva every month. For the time she spends with you, she's actually reasonably priced. $100 for a facial that typically lasts 1.5 hours. The first time I went, I needed a lot of work done (yikes) and my appointment ran into 2 hours. You're never rushed when you're with Eva and she really takes care of you. I saw Eva for my first time on 9/17 and was impressed enough to schedule my next facial before leaving! I was lucky to get an initial appointment with her, as she books up really far in advance. She has a loyal clientele who often schedule their appointments months out to guarantee a slot. Her studio is quiet and low key in a Spanish style office building off 17th St. Eva is Hungarian and has brought her European knowledge and skills to her skin care hideaway. Her philosophy is that one cannot give a proper facial in the typical 55 minutes that most estheticians offer therefore, her facials are a good 90 minutes! No cattle call mentality here! I never felt rushed and she was extremely thorough with extractions (yet I didn't leave red) and she gave me a long, luxurious face/shoulder massage. Eva really knows skin and will customize each facial to whatever your skin needs are. Her goal is to get you on a program to get your skin in the best condition possible! Most facials run from $80-95 and are a great value since they last around 90 minutes. I had gone to Eva before a few years ago and then I switched over to a friends salon who also had estheticians and provided the same service. The salon stopped offering waxing service so I started to search for a new person to go to for that. I remembered I had an excellent experience with Eva before and I was so happy to have found her info and reviews up on Yelp. Yay! Immediately I called and booked an appointment. She's extremely popular and is booked in advance but she does have evening appointments. This is so convenient for my schedule! I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute but had asked to be placed on the wait list for cancellations. I was very lucky to have been able to get in on a cancelled appointment! She saw me right away and everything went smoothly. The room is sterile and clean. I would highly recommend her and her services to anyone interested. You'll feel comfortable with her and after your first appointment, you will want to come back! TIP: Park in the back parking lot on the left past the realtor bank lot on the corner. Also a bonus, her waxing services are incredibly affordable compared to most other places. Thank you Eva for so many years of incredible skin care. I have been coming to Eva for over 25 years for waxing and skin care. I feel compelled to tell others about my experiences and let people know there is a great place to go for help with serious skin conditions. I have always loved Eva's technique. She is meticulous and dedicated, honest, extremely knowledgeable and has a very deep understanding of health. She has seen things on me that doctors didn't even catch, in particular thyroid and hormone issues causing break outs along the jaw line. Sure enough, she was spot on. But this review goes much deeper than that. In recent years I developed some very deep grooves on the side of my mouth. I spoke to plastic surgeons and dermatologists about it but never got any solid answers on how to help it heal. Eva's micro current facials are like gold. Not only do they completely lift my face (think Pilates for the face!), but these facials have completely changed the appearance of these deep grooves. I am beyond grateful for her help. I have never had a facial anywhere else, so keep that in mind... But, I think Eva is amazing! A couple months ago my skin was more broken out than it had been for years. I have no idea what was causing it. I knew my sister had some success with facials, so I looked on Yelp! to see if there was anyone that stood out. Obviously Eva does!! All the reviews are fantastic, and now I know why!! My first appointment with Eva she really went to work on my face. There were absolutely times when it hurt - and when I left my face was pretty red. She suggested I buy several products, but I left with only some face scrub. Sure enough, two weeks later my skin was AMAZING. I have been back again and have my third appointment coming up in a couple weeks. I can only give my review for my non-experience. When I walked into Eva Magyar the owner and her assistant stopped talking to each other and looked at me as if I had two heads on my shoulders. I told the owner what previous work had been done on me inquired about an appointment, for which I was told that she had nothing available until September. This took place on June 20th when I walked into her salon. Maybe my money wasn't green enough, maybe because I am a male, only they know and they are not talking. I found a long lost gift certificate from my sister for a facial with Ava. I called to see if I could still use it, it must have been at least 10 years old. Eva is the best! I've gotten facials done here as well as eyebrow waxes. She charges around $95 for a facial but it's for an hour and a half!!! Price depends on what you're getting (i.e if you're getting special treatments in addition to the facial). She is almost like a medical aesthetician and has done wonders when I was having crazy acne problems. She is also very honest, she told me I needed to see a dermatologist because the skin issues I was having needed antibiotics. She will recommend products to you that she sells in her office (I think she sells only a couple different lines that she likes) - and will give you samples so you can try them first. I have naturally crooked eyebrows and most people can't do them (they come out looking worse) but she always gets it right. She charges around $20-24 for eyebrows. I have friends who have gone for regular facials to her for years. She takes great pride in her work. I have been to several spas in my local area which I truly enjoy especially NIna Monte! but this time around I was seeking more of a medical skin specialist. Eva is very booked but I was lucky to get an appointment just 2.5 weeks out. I had a tailored facial which cost 95.00 and lasted 1.5 hours. It was a very good and informative facial. I also liked that Eva did not push products on me. She does carry several lines of product but there is no pressure like at other places. They offer an array of facials all around the same price point. They also offer microderm abrasion and waxing. This is not a spa it is based in a office style setting and they purely focus on skin care. With the facial you do get a nice hand moisturizing massage and a neck and shoulder massage. read more

When you walk in to Eva's Salon you are greeted with a calm peaceful environment, meticulously kept and pleasantly designed. She takes great pride in her work and the salon. Her demeanor is unassuming and eyes very observant. She has helped me develop a long term skincare plan and works within my budget.
