Pineapple Juice? More Like Sugar Water. I ordered the pineapple natural fruit juice, expecting something fresh and flavorful. Instead, what I got had no real pineapple taste at all -- just a bunch of sugar. It honestly tasted like syrup or concentrate, not natural juice. I brought it up to both the server and the cook. They acknowledged it wasn't quite right, but told me I could only exchange it if I paid for the second drink. That felt like poor customer service -- especially when the issue wasn't about preference, but a product that didn't match its description. I paid for the drink. Excellent food - some of the best I've had. Quesabirria tacos are on point and the consume' is world class. The staff at the restaurant are down to earth people who are friendly, hard-working, and attentive to your needs. Beware - there is very limited seating but I still recommend finding a way to eat here. We ordered 2 of the quesabirria plates (3 tacos each), the camerones tostada, 2 fish taco plate, and 2 drinks - our total for the night was $52 bucks - the best deal, hands down! I highly recommend dining in if there is room inside. Otherwise, you'd have to order to go. The place was pushing out order after order for pickup - it was amazing to see how much food they push out of the kitchen. Again, the food was very delicious, hot and fresh. This place is VERY small, but the food has to be one of the best places to eat in ALL of Salinas. They are also very friendly and very attentive. The kind of thing you'd expect inside an omelet, rather than as a side nxt to your eggs, but turns out to be just fine as served. FOOD: Good to excellent. SERVICE: Good. AMBIANCE: Good,clean, simple, 1960's decor. Eating here is a pleasant experience. Lots of locals gather here for breakfast. The food used to be good. I don't know what happened. Plus customer service was horrible. Employees don't even interact with you when you walk in. It took the 2.5 hours for a molcajete. First let me start off by saying that I LOVE MEXICAN food, especially when it's homemade & authentic at a restaurant. However, I would much rather go somewhere else. I wish someone would've told me that this place is literally crammed, about 100 sq ft. And the customers get about 10 of that 100. My boyfriend & I sat down at the corner of the table top, only to find out that the bathroom is literally right in front of us; not even a foot away. They took 10 minutes before they gave us a menu & literally watched us sit there. I thought maybe we had to order at the cash register, but no the server eventually brought us menus after asking. We ordered our food, which the server took down on a yellow sticky note. While we're waiting for our food, we noticed one of the servers eating a plate of steak at the cash register with her hands. Mind you this place is literally SMALL. No chips were offered while we waited 30 minutes, but yet we got to watch her enjoy her food. The workers there were bringing in boxes, food preps & other things right beside us & it was so small that they would bump into me, but I had no room to move over so I just had to deal with it. After waiting so long, my boyfriends plate of chilaquilles came out which he enjoyed. Then another plate came out which I thought was mine, but nope! It was for someone who came in 20 minutes after we had ordered. After another plate came out which was for his friend. None of the servers told me that my food would be out in a couple of minutes or any time soon. So I sat there waiting & then a server comes out with a small bowl of rice, which I had ordered as a side. 5 minutes later I receive my plate, which I had no interest in after waiting for so long. I take a few bites out of my big plate and then a sudden rush of people come in, many of those who have ordered over the phone. I'm trying to enjoy the food after waiting for so long, but there's so many people standing beside me & behind me in such a small place! The server attends to them and hands the food & money over to them right in front of me while I'm trying to eat. Then to make everything even better, there are flies attacking my food. At this point I'm just over eating any of it. We ask for a To-Go box and she comes back with a paper plate & aluminum foil. So I reminded her we asked for a box. I head over to the register, where I literally had to drag myself to. I tried not to bump into anyone, but you literally can't walk by without touching anyone. The young lady at the register, asks me what I had... REALLY???? lol. The food is okay, but definitely not worth it. Save your money & your time. read more

Small, very small! I believe I was the only English speaking person here. Which was great! The building is so small you may just drive right by the place. Well, I did haha. Once I found the little place I parked across the street and walker right in. This food was amazing! It was so good! I ordered 2 Carne enchallatte's. What arrive was a huge plate of food! The steak was not on the enchallatte's it was an entire steak on top of them. It was great! Huge portion of steak and I could control the steak to cheese ratio by mixing it my mouth. The enchallatte's shells didn't taste soggy or to much like dough. The steak was seasoned well. What they called a plate salad was a full salad else where. The lettuce was cut in nice big chunks, the tomatoes were entire circle slices. That those small cubes topping with avacadao slices. It was all nice and fresh. I enjoyed this meal very much. It provided much needed energy. Now keep in mind, this place is cash only. Cash only is good for the owners which makes it good for us. Bigger portion, better tasting, good service and cheaper prices. All that food I got was only $9.50!! Stop in and show Eva some yelp love. read more
