Had a wonderful birthday lunch with a friend at Eva's today. We shared a plate of potato and cheese pierogi's and the kielbasa platter. Everything was hot and fresh, the pierogi's were served with onions and a little sauerkraut. We got the red cabbage with our kielbasa and it came with crispy cooked potatoes. The service was excellent even when it got quite busy. Our server checked on us several times to make sure everything was good. read more

Recently I went to Eva's European Sweets. We did I take out. My husband got the pierogies and I got the Polish sampler. I've heard so many good things about this place I've been wanting to go forever. Maybe it's just me but it lacked flavor. The glumpke was very tasteless and dry had very little sauce the meat inside was very dry. The pierogies were good the kielbasa was good the hunter still was very tasteless. Too much sauerkraut too much cabbage stuff. I also ordered a side of red cabbage that was very bland tasting. It lacks a lot of flavor. Will I go back again probably and I'll order the pierogies that was probably the best thing in the kabasi can't go wrong with that. read more

If you love Polish food, it is great and very authentic. The service is very genuine and real and feels like you're going to like your grandma's kitchen or going to like an older relative or friends kitchen. The ambience is more of like a family dinner setting decorative very much Polish with the tchotchkes and the Russian nesting dolls. And other source of dolls all around the place and they even have like some phrases or sayings hung all around the place and for the area it's in the outside area is pretty nice to sit in in the late spring and summer great place to bring family, friends and very kid friendly for kids. I recommend the potato pancakes or just some Kabasa or a potato or one of the very plain pierogies for me. Personally, my favorite meal is the kielbasa with their spicy mustard and their sauerkraut. read more

I had the Polish platter which includes 2 potato pierogies, a golabkeki (cabbage roll), kielbasa and bigots (hunter's stew), and sauerkraut and a Warka beer. The food was all very good. They have a nice outdoor area when the weather is nice. Very friendly staff. Got there at noon on a Thursday afternoon and had no problem getting a table. I'm part Polish and grew up eating most of this food, so I have been putting off going here because how could it compare to my family's cooking?! Well, it does! It's legit and SO delicious! Dave was our server and was full of knowledge about the food, good humor, and brought coloring books and crayons for the little one in our group. Everything was cooked to perfection. I somehow managed to save room for dessert and the blueberry coffee cake was pleasantly tasty without being overly sweet. I ordered a mixed drink (I can't remember the name of it but it had lemon in it) and it was made so expertly! I'm definitely going back again. Always a treat to have lunch or dinner here. The weather was absolutely perfect, so we opted to sit outside. Service was quick, friendly and given with a smile. The food is the best Polish we've ever had, and the selection of European beers is excellent. They also have house craft cocktails which are tasty. Four of us 60-somethings went here about 12:30pm on a Wednesday, (3/19/25) and we were delighted. The food was excellent: Two of us got a platter, which had a sampling of traditional polish dishes. All great. I'd like to have had a whole kielbasa, but there was.more than enough for one person. Others got the pierogies, and a Greek (!) salad. These were just right as well. I had a tasty Ukrainian beer, they had Polish beers as well. Yum. Service was fast & efficient. Well lit, bright inside. The back outdoor patio wasn't open yet. . It's been years since I've been to Eva's but I stopped by tonight. It was cold and rainy, perfect pierogi weather. The restaurant is really intimate and warm, especially in the winter. You feel like you're sitting in a relative's house, and the staff takes care of you that same way. I went for the mushroom pierogi, and they were absolutely delicious. The mushrooms and onions were sauteed perfectly, so tender. The pierogi were super substantial, and the balance of fillings was perfect. It's no wonder this eatery is so enduring. read more

We dined at Eva's on a Wednesday at around 5:30. We were seated immediately, and had several people taking care of us. My son and his girlfriend have eaten here several times, and they highly recommended it, and now I know why. It felt like stepping into another time period in another country. The food was amazing (Kielbasa Platter, Drunken Meatballs, Placki Hungarian Style, Roasted Chicken Thighs in a White Wine and Mushroom Sauce, and 6 Farmers Cheese Pirogi). I am extremely embarrassed to admit that until recently, I had never dined at Eva's. I've driven by plenty of times and always told myself I would stop in. Finally, I did, and it was so worth it. My friend and I dined at Eva's for lunch on a beautiful summer. This was a first for both of us. Upon entering Eva's, I instantly felt a sense of comfort. This restaurant has such a warm "make yourself at home" vibe to it, I loved it instantly. We chose to dine outside since it was such a gorgeous day, and to my surprise, their outdoor patio was just as beautiful as their indoor dining space. The food was delicious! Both my lunch date and I thoroughly enjoyed our selections as well the eye-catching cocktails. Customer service was phenomenal upon entering the door up until we exited. While it may have taken me a while to make my way to Eva's, I can assure you now that I have dined here, there is no way I'll be able to stay away. read more

Heard this place was good and it didn't disappoint. Another gem of Syracuse. I'd say hidden but we found out it was on Diners, Dives, and Driveins. All kinds of delicious looking polish food on the menu it was tough to not order something i already liked but we found some great stuff. Had a Beet salad, Mushroom and potato pierogies,and polish gnocchi. The food came fast. The place was busy. Tons of sitting inside and out. I love the mural on the side and the decor on the interior. It makes you feel like you are in someone's home and you feel like family. The service was great. I was blown away by the food. A great place to bring a large group of friends or family for a nice time out. The place is warm, though, so be prepared during the summer months. It's nice because I thought I was going to sit at the bar for a bit while I waited for my party, but they let me get seated. My favorite dish here is the mushroom croquettes that is a fried crepe filled with mushrooms and covered in mushroom sauce. Don't skip the perogies though! The bacon and onion ones are the absolute best I've ever had. The waiter we had was nice, but made a couple mistakes in our 9-top's ordering which is understandable, and quickly fixed them. The desserts all look so delicious in the display case as you walk by the bar, as well. The patio is also a gorgeous space! Yummy food and good times. read more

I finally had the chance to try Eva's recently, and it definitely lived up to the hype. When our party of 5 arrived, they didn't have a table available right away but we were able to have a drink at the bar. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They had a few specials on a board, as well as a nice cocktail list with good variety. The pear martini was delicious and tasted like real pears. Once we were seated. I ordered a special appetizer of salmon caviar on potato pancakes- it was also delicious. For my entree, I had the pierogis, which I had been looking forward to for a while, and they did not disappoint. I thought the timing of everything was good. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try dessert this visit, but we will be back to try it soon! One helpful tip- they did not itemize the receipt, so if you're planning to split the bill with someone you may want to keep track of the costs yourself. read more

What a gem! My friend found this place for us to stop at on our way back to SYR to fly home because who really wants to eat at the airport. When she said Polish food I jumped at the chance since it is really hard to find in my area. I will say that parking was bit challenging, but I was able to find some street parking. The building is fun and kitschy. The dining area is not huge, but we were able to be seated right away. There was so many delicious looking items on the menu I really struggled to choose and I must say that had I been with my husband I am sure I would have ordered differently and a kielbasa would have been in front of me. However, my friend is a vegetarian so we ordered two vegetarian dishes, the Polish gnocchi and the savory cheese pierogis. Both were excellent and we really enjoyed them. The savory cheese pierogis were a standout and if/when I make it back here I would defintiely get those again. The dessert here looked incredible, but we didn't want to stuff ourselves before getting on the plane. Maybe next time this will be our first stop upon arrival. Highly recommend. read more

I loved it. The place is cute. You walk in and there's a full bar to your right and tables in front. There's seating in the back which provides a quieter experience, and the patio - CUTE. We were promptly seated and ordered the Meat Pierogi's, Potato and Cheese Pierogi's, and Bacon and Saurkraut Pierogi's. All were excellent, but the Meat Pierogi were the real stand out. Everyone at the table ordered something different, from Hunter Stew, stuffed cabbage, a chicken dumpling dish, and pork cutlets with potato's. Everything tasted great. It had a real home-cooked taste to it end I mean that in the best way possible. The stuffed cabbage are massive and packed full of meat. They don't skimp - talk about a hearty meal - same with the hunters stew, which was again, hearty and full of flavor. The chicken and dumpling dish was great and came with bacon and sauerkraut. It all went together so well. The real star of the night though, the pork cutlet dinner. It came with red cabbage and potatoes. Outrageous. You know it's good when you get home and the next day you're still thinking about it. I'm glad I finally made it out here and I can't wait to come back. Eva's absolutely lives up to the hype of one of the best restaurants in Syracuse. By the way, they have a HUGE selection of polish and Eastern European beer. read more

Friendly service and very tasty food - the pancakes (as seen on Diners Drive ins and Dives!) and pierogi were really good. Not life changing or anything but solid. Neat beer list with beers you're unlikely to find anywhere else except Marcy discount (the porter was delicious). The desserts were also really good - the berry pie was amazing! For a small family diner atmosphere (with plenty of flies, thanks to people going in and out of the outside door for outside seating), the bill was a little high imo. There were only three of us. In fairness we ordered a lot to try things (four drinks, three apps, three entrees and two desserts) but the bill was over a hundred and fifty bucks before tip. Not a weekly, or even monthly, spot for me, but I wasn't disappointed, and I will probably be back as they are one of the only places in town for Eastern European food. read more

Eva's on Milton Avenue is SOOOO MUCH MORE than sweets! Allison and Carolina were amazing and saying dobranos to the kitchen workers was life changing! Authentic Polish cuisine and beer from Eva's town in Poland made this trip to remember! Remember my past in making pierogi and stuffed cabbage rolls and Polska kielbasa that we used to make around my home growing up. Remember my present in how I can enjoy these treasures in my hometown. Eva's hooked me up with the a Polish "combo platter" of the three items above as well as a new dish to me: a hunter's stew "bigos". And lots of saurcraut to go around it all. Amazing fast service and explanations of the meals. The ambiance of this jewel made me feel like I have traveled to Poland with leaving Central New York. Wonderful job Eva's!
