I was a loyal customer at Eva's Nails in La Verne for nearly a year. I came in regularly, tipped generously, and always treated the staff with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, my last visit completely changed my opinion of this salon. During my appointment, Mindy was filing my nails with an electric drill and burned two of my nail beds. While accidental over-filing can happen from time to time in any salon, what happened next was unacceptable. When I told her it hurt, she laughed and continued drilling. Instead of acknowledging that she had over-filed my nails, she accused me of being "sensitive." As someone who has had my nails done for years, I know the difference between normal filing and having your nail bed drilled too thin. It was painful, and her response was both dismissive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the nail she aggressively filed broke off the very next day. A week later, another nail chipped in the exact area where she had over-filed it during the appointment. After nearly a year of loyal business and generous tips, I expected better treatment and at least a little accountability. Mistakes happen. What matters is how they're handled. Instead of concern or an apology, I was laughed at and blamed. As a result, they lost a long-time customer. I won't be returning, and I can no longer recommend Eva's Nails based on my experience. read more

I have been coming here for years. I won't go anywhere else. Skill to do any design you want. I'm incredibly indecisive and they always pick a color that complements my skin tone and I'm very happy every time I leave. My mom has been going there for decades. If you want a nail fungus this is the place for you! I had to have my toenail removed today by a podiatrist and oral antibiotics. They are NOT sterilizing the instruments, nor do they have autoclave for sterilization. Pedicure liners aren't used for the pedicure bowl, I asked, she said they don't fit. I usually like to have designs on my nails so depending on the type and design of the nails, they pair me with a nail tech that can do the nails and meet my expectations. The salon is fairly priced. To my surprise they took me right away. Which doesn't happen often in other nail salons. So for me it was a win win situation. The tech that did my nails was Cindy and I will have to say... She did a pretty great job. I wanted very simple gender reveal nails and they came out exactly how I wanted them! Yeah..NO. Never again. Waited 25 minutes after my manicure and pedicure appointment time. When it was finally my turn, she rushed through the entire process, didn't use any water or cuticle softener on my nails, instead using the electric filing drill and DRY CUTTING my cuticles. Didn't trim my natural nails so they were all the same length, or shape, and rushed through the powder dipping. Then I was sat in the pedicure chair and sat there again for another 15 minutes. Note that their price menu is not listed or posted in their shop for a reason! The menu prices pictured here on Yelp are old according to them. 1st visit: I got dip on my nails and then also a regular pedi. No complaints on the service or job done. The total was $75. I figured since it was my first dip that I wasn't aware of the cost. 2nd visit: I get a white tip full set and and white tip pedi = $68. $68?! That's when I realized that the price menu on Yelp are not their prices. Prices have been raised but they won't tell you about it. You're looking at $30 for a basic pedi. Basic! No complaints on their service and I don't mind paying for a good job but their prices are ridiculous for such basic work. So first of all, they didn't put me with the girl I scheduled my appointment with(Pauline) and ignored when I asked. The lady I got was rude. I wanted a fun duo chrome nail seeing that it's my damn birthday today and wanted something fun for the trip I'm taking. They told me no and a solid color is "easier" to do. After the girl just took my phone out of my hand and just walked away. So I paid $60 for raw/bloody cuticles, crooked, mediocre nails... oh & she burned me with the drill under my nails when I asked her to file the insane amount of excess gel that was so thick and covering my fingers. Worst experience ever and my fingers are no joke in so much pain & I will probably have bruises from how hard she was grabbing me. Would honestly love a refund cuz WTF. read more

This place is nice and clean. Times are changing and nail inspiration are evolving. 1) I notice the clientele are older crowd. Which isn't bad however, that should tell you if you're looking for a trendy design you seen as inspiration on social media. Their work is not going to cut it. They are very old school and stick with old school designs. I went in today bc I wanted a pink & white french tip with a "deep smile" I showed the lady working on my feet a pic and explained thoroughly how I wanted the tip to have a deeper smile. She said "sure no problem". As she began painting the tips they were straight to the point where she didn't use a dipped brush in acetone to clean and define the tip. Which was the purpose to define more of the tip for a deeper smile. Even showing a reference pic I still don't get what I want. They don't look bad. I paid $53 plus $5 tip, so in total $58 for that is not ok. If you cannot replicate what is shown on the pic. Just be upfront and I'll be ok with just a solid color but instead they say "yes, yes" and it's mediocre work and it's killing me how much I spent for something I'm just not happy with. read more

This has been my go-to salon for about a year now, and Pauline ALWAYS does the best job! She is such a talented nail tech, always doing the most. One time I broke a nail and in a pinch, had to go to a different salon to get it fixed, but no at the salon could do her design. They all asked where I get mine done and who does them because they were very impressed. That's how good she is! She always makes my nails so beautiful and is great with shape and color. I used to get long coffin nails, but due to my job, I need to have short nails now. I used to hate the style, but she makes me love my short nails with how pretty they are! Bad customer service. They talk about us in their language. First time , I didn't know you had to take cash for tip. They don't have the ability of putting it on debit. So i had to leave no tip and my plan was to return. They went all off talking their language and they all looked at me. How uncomfortable that made me feel. read more

Eva's is my favorite nail salon. I have been coming here for a little over 4 years I'd say... I used to live down the street and now I live 25-30 minutes away and I will make the trip once/twice a month for my nails. I just cant find anywhere that compares. I have always had an amazing experience here, each woman is friendly, takes their time and always does an amazing job. I get a dip manicure and a pedicure with the callous remover and salt scrub. Now.. being honest I generally do not mind who does my nails, seeing as how these ladies always make sure to an amazing job.. well today when I came in I noticed some new faces.. I am a creature of habit so I got nervous seeing these new faces.. BUT from start to finish my pedicure was amazing, hands down one of the best ever, I cant get over how soft my feet and legs are, how perfectly shaped my toe nails are... My manicure on the other hand did not START out too great.. I was a bit irritated when the manicurist began, she kept telling me my nails were too short, which I'd never been told that was an issue with the dip.. she kept telling me to add a tip, add a tip, add a tip.. we went back and forth a bit and finally I said okay add the tips, but I work in an office and type all day and need them short. Looking back I feel bad now cause I probably had a major resting B**** face.. when she started dipping I got nervous again, and so did my manicurist HAHA... my nails were looking pretty rouch after the first few dips, I thought forsure they would be extremely wide, lumpy, and all the reminisces would be staying on my skin.. BOY WAS I WRONG. Not only was my manicurist sweet, she was talkative, she was funny, she filed the hell out of these nails and they look amazing. I wish I knew her name so I can give her a shout out. Nothing like a parking lot pedicure to treat yourself! I was driving by and noticed this place was open. Considering the current Covid restrictions this business took the mani/pedi services outdoors and what fun that is! I just wanted a basic pedicure and that's what I got. They were fast an efficient. I actually really liked my pedi considering I was sitting under an EZ up in a parking lot while I got my toes done. My only complaint is, I wasn't told services were cash only until after my service and the wooden foot rest was a little uncomfortable with the height of the chair. I wouldn't expect to come here for a pedi and expect for it to be a luxurious or relaxing experience because it's likely it won't be but that's the price you pay to have cute toes and feet during covid. read more

A family friend recommended this place to me for nails, and it's been my go-to nail shop when I'm in the area. I usually get the $14 manicure, and there is a wide variety of colors. They do acrylics, gels, and pedis too, but I like to keep it simple, and I also tend to mess up my nails quickly anyway. The ladies here are not the chattiest, but are always nice and polite. They have a big screen for you to watch TV, or you can zone out an relax, but they aren't the type to strike up conversations other than Vietnamese gossiping. When my boyfriend dropped me off once, 3 of them were speaking and pointing to him as he walked out the door. I like to think that they were saying he was sexy and that I did a good job, but who knows. My point is, it's more of a quiet place to relax rather than a place to make a BFF stylist. They also take their TIME here. It's not so great if you're in a rush, but it's quality, detailed work. You never feel half-assed or rushed out the door. The ladies even offered for me to stay and dry my nails as they were cleaning up and closing, but I politely declined. Everything they do is with great detail. They are OPEN for business as of today 6/21/2020!! Current policy: No walk-ins, appointments only, must have masks on and they have to reduce capability by at least 50% I was in the area to visit my mom and didn't know they were open but when we drove past by, we saw a line outside of Eva's. They told me they can't do walk-ins anymore so I scheduled an appointment to come back the next day. I could see how overwhelmed they are since they have to work with multiple layers of masks, routinely disinfect spa chair/nail station after each customer, constant phone ringing all day. Despite all that, it's so worth waiting because I know they care about customer and employee safety AND still give me the best mani/pedi that I've missed since COVID started! Let me just tell ya, my fingers were looking so rough ever since they closed for 3 months lol Overall, my experience at Eva's post-COVID is still as good as how I remember it! It might seem hectic here and there but for a small business like this, they are doing everything to navigate the new "normal" - closely following state orders and still maintaining great customer service/impeccable skills!
