Where do I start? I go to Red persimmon spa and nail in Laverne California. You sit down and the owner knows your name and greet you with that. You pick out the color of your desire. Once your appointment starts, you sit in the chair to get this most amazing pedicure. She turns the machine on and instantly you fall asleep. The owner of the company knows how to take care of your feet Doesn't matter how your feet look you will walking into that place you walk out feeling amazing with all the work she does to your feet. My toenails have never looked as good as they do. I went in to have the hair removed from my face and she does it with such care she use small strokes, not to cause pain when removing the hair off your face. After that, she gives best facial massage. Her hands have such healing powers in it. The manicures are quite amazing. I had gel put on due to the Easter season. I feel I've been in Beverly Hills with the outcome. Her prices are very good for what she does to your feet face and hands When you visit at this location? You will never go to anybody else. I am ever so thankful for the care you gave me during my time in the chair. You rekindled the belief in a better day. Such energy goes into the care that you are looking for. read more

Sabrina is amazing -- she pays attention to detail, takes her time, and always makes sure everything looks perfect. This was the worst pedicure I've ever had. The technician was sloppy, and the entire pedicure lasted less than 15 minutes. As you can see from the picture, the cuticles were not trimmed, and the nail polish is applied very sloppily. The salon itself is dirty and when I left my foot was itchy. read more

Went to get my manicure and pedicure for the first time since 2019 and the manicurist ends up cutting my cuticle too deep causing pain and bleeding. After the bleeding stopped she wanted to apply gel polish. I told her no that is not sanitary and left that fingernail without polish yet I still had to pay full price. I'm highly disappointed and hope I don't get an infection. read more

The visit (last night) was really quite lousy. I needed a fill and got a manicure also, to help with my cuticles. She was not only rough with my cuticles, but didn't even do a good job. There are globs of hardened acrylic on some of the sides of my fingers left behind, as well as on the underside of one of my nails. She left huge gaps between my cuticles and the paint. It looks like I still feel a fill. She filed the ends of my nails for some reason, after painting them. Multiple times she cleaned up a a smear of something on my fingers with the brush she used to apply the acrylic...which left thin layers of acrylic left on my actual fingers upon leaving. It was all just ridiculous. I've never had so many complaints on a nail shop. read more

I usually go here for my eyebrow wax. The one lady always does a nice job. Occasionally I go here for my nails. I recently got a gel manicure from Tom. He was friendly and took his time. I liked how when we were talking possible nail designs, he showed me several possibilities. He made sure that I was happy. I would recommend Tom. Went back and Tom was not available. One of the ladies did my nails. Nail polish was all over my cuticles. Nail length was all different. Had to go to another nail salon to fix them. After a couple of comments and nothing was being fixed I would rather pay someone else again and get it done right. I wouldn't go to anyone else here. read more

I was kind of nervous after seeing the reviews. I had been here once upon a time before, but it had been years. My friend asked me to get a mani/pedi with her, so I figured why not. Barely anyone was in the shop when we got there. It was almost 3PM. We picked our colors just for regular polish, and the lady tried to sell us on gel but no way. I was supposed to be on a vacation from all nail shops anyway. I'm so tired of getting gel that doesn't last longer, as that's what they always promise. I got my regular polish, but even that is just so disappointing lol. I have to laugh because I should honestly know better. I am just extremely picky when it comes to my nails. I already have chips today and the polish is crazy lumpy. I probably could've just done a better job myself sadly. The ladies are very nice here, but it just doesn't save for a poor job. read more

‼Stay far away if you want long nails‼ I was calling multiple nail salons across La Verne/Claremont and came across Red Persimmon. I was impressed with a only $25 full set and a $3 "long" length add on. I definitely jumped because salons now charge crazy for length and shape (pretty much anything they can get you on). I arrive to the shop with my sister and ask if she can get a fill and me, a full set. They said sure just pick your color and wait. I waited and was seated after another woman who walked in was seated and was greeted by a nail technician who claims was the manager. We hit it off great, I showed her the length In a photo of a set I had previously had (photo attached below) and I wanted and she said that it was long and I agreed but this is what I wanted. She filed my already brittle nails down and I yelped a little because it did hurt me. I asked her to stop and she kept on continuing. Okay, weird. She started to put on the tips and cut them a little shorter than I wanted, no biggie I can handle it. It wasn't until she was already filing again that she made the nails even shorter than I had wanted. I had told her that the nails were shorter than I wanted and she reassured me that pointy nails would get shorter and that I shouldn't worry. I kept expressing that the nails were not what I asked for and she then got annoyed of me and told me, "I know you're trying to cause problems for me" and "You're too young to be acting this way with me". I am not "too young", if anything I am old enough to know how to advocate for myself and not be bullied into having something I did not pay for. And then I told her that, "No ma'am, I'm not trying to cause problems, I want to get what I am paying for". And I sure did get that. She then told me to go wash my hands, as I did, then realized there was no paper towels and went back to her and told her there was no paper towels. She then gives me a towel, I wipe my hands and she starts to paint. I was already at wits end with her, but if there wasn't anything else to top off this horrid visit, is was how after she finished painting my left hand, she threw my hand at me. I was livid. You do not treat your customers like this. Especially not after you cut their nails, cuticles and skin and then try to argue with the customer when you were the one who messed up. She finished my nails and then went to my sister (who needed the fill) and told her that she had no time for her (even though before the altercation she did) and took another lady. Extremely unprofessional and overall childish. I paid her $25 after she told me that I wouldn't have to pay for the extra $3 of length SHE DID NOT GIVE ME. Also, the other customers there did see how I was being treated and I do have my sister as witness to how I was being treated. My nails came out short, the shapes uneven and honestly a disappointment. I will not be coming here again. Avoid coming here at all costs if you want long nails! TLDR; Rude manager, cut my cuticles and burned the skin around my fingers with her drill, did not give me what I wanted and argued with me, claiming I was giving her problems because i asked for long nails and didn't specify (WHICH I DID) and threw my hand at me after painting them. Do not come here! read more

I was happy with the service until I went to pay with the $50 gift card I purchased in May. The woman at the counter told me it was not valid and that I'd need to pay another way because she didn't "recognize the handwriting." The gift card has the logo, Red Persimmon's name and even the location's address on it, yet she told me it wasn't from their store. After telling her I bought it from the store over and over, she told me she'd need to talk to her manager and that I would need to come back the next day to "make sure it's okay." I was basically accused of stealing a gift card that I have a bank statement proving that I purchased. It made no sense and felt like meaningless harassment. read more

I never go out of my way to post reviews but I was deeply disappointed with what I received from Red Persimmon in La Verne so I thought I would warn others. I got this white gel set done two days ago and she never fully filled in the paint all away around my nails so it looks like they have already grown out. They have also already chipped. I got the exact same set done on my toes as well. The entire mani pedi took two hours and it cost over $100. Considering the experience and what I received, I will not be going back. Nice ladies though. read more

I just recently started coming here. At first it was because it was closer to my job, but now i just come here because of Lee! She is always taking care of what I need and by when I need it. I never have a problem with my nails falling off or even looking weird. They are always on point‍. My nails have never looked so good! You all have to just come in and ask for Lee! I will never again come to this nail salon. I came in for a pedi and gel manicure. I have engagement pictures this coming weekend and I wanted my nails to look as nice as possible. They look like absolute trash-filed straight across, gel polish lumpy and uneven and just plain sloppy. When I asked for a few nails to be redone, I was told that I had messed them up. They did redo them but not without blame placed. My cuticles are so cut up and several left bleeding. The pedi was fine-no complaints there. I am not sure what to do now that I have dropped this money and my photos are quick approaching. Lastly, when i asked for change from a 20 for a tip, i was given a 10 and 2 5's, basically ensuring a 5 dollar tip on a shitty job. Do not waste your money here. read more

I was in the area with a friend and decided to get my nails done since it's summertime. Decided to get a manipedi. They were very attentive to me. I get concerned over little things, but my technician, Mimi, didn't get frustrated with me, thank goodness. Overall the place was very clean and I felt relaxed during my visit. Usually I have a few concerns but there wasn't really anything I could point out this time. I would definitely visit again if I was in the area. Soooo tl;dr = awesome experience. read more

I would give a No star for the last pedicure. I had there at that salon! I requested the lady at the desk, and she tried to pawn me on to the other lady in the back of the shop. Then she decided to do my pedicure,because she knew I was about to walk out. She was thorough, but very, very rough filing my skin when she was supposed to be filing my toenails!! Then, asking me why I was so jumpy!?!?! I told her let me file on your skin and see how you like it. You're being way too rough.!!!! I went to pay and she told me it was $55 and I said the last time it was $50!?! She said the price went up because I selected a white gel!!!! I told her that's what I had on last time and it was $50. She said no no no it's always been $55. the lady is crazy!!!!! Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

They charge extra for every thing. Coffin or stiletto shape. $5. Long nails $5. Matte top coat $5. Basic acrylics start at $25. Gel acrylics $40. I got long, stiletto, matte nails with gel and payed $50 total. I personally don't feel the price matches the quality. But the lady was nice and cared about giving me what I wanted. read more

First, I waited about 45 min after I was told it would be about 10-15min. Then I noticed their Spa Pedicure machines were extremely old and barely working. the next couple of days I noticed my cuticles were cut up and didn't look as nice as they usually do after getting a manicure at my usual salon. I came after the the eye doctor next door who is great since it seemed nice from the outside. A couple days later my middle finger started to hurt. Now it's been over a week and my finger hurts so bad and I believe it's infected. Seeing a doctor today. But I have never had any type of infection from a nail salon. Ever! I will never come back and I am going to file a complaint. I just saw the reviews and other people have had infections as well. I didn't want to judge on the old equipment, but to get infections tells me they are not sanitizing their tools! I would give no stars, but then this review wouldn't be addressed. read more

if i could give this place a 0 i would. walked in , 1st red flag was that no one was in there but i'm very pregnant and didn't want to go to my usual because it's a 40 min drive from me, anyway no ac was so humid inside and everything in there was dirty. i should've left but again didn't really have the energy. proceeded to get a pedicure and everything the lady did was half ass. barely cleaned my cuticles didn't even fully take off my nail polish that had been on there and cut my toe when cutting my nails. didn't put anything on the cut to help it from getting infected at that point i just didn't want to be in there. i asked to stop the service and they proceeded to ask why i told them i was unhappy and uncomfortable with everything. on top of that she tried to charge me $30 for a incomplete pedicure. i had only 20s and didn't wanna pay the full $30 because i didn't see the point after the service i received. i handed her a 20 and 8 1's because that's all i wanted to give her i guess i didn't wanna give her anything. she told me that it was my fault my toe got cut because i wanted my toenails short and my nail beds were pointy and she didn't know and that i wasn't even bleeding so it wasn't her fault. i told her i didn't think it was worth the full $30 and she yelled at me and i told her i felt the job was half ass and wasn't even clean. she then tried to get the other lady to call the cops but the other lady was nice and told me it was fine and apologized for her behavior. still ended up paying the $28. $2 short too bad so sad. didn't have a full service and was unhappy with my experience. if i get an infection from this salon i will be even more unhappy. no wonder no one was in here. 0/5 stars forsure. never going back. might even call health department. very unsanitary and dirty. read more

Special THX to Lynn & LoAnn for getting my Mom & I ready for our Hawaiian Holiday this week. On a day that most take off as a holiday (Memorial Day) we were so glad Red Persimmon was OPEN...WOO HOOOO!!! We so appreciate their hospitality & customer service from the moment we walked in. The massage chairs were WONDERFUL not to mention the AMAZING foot & leg massages they gave us. The hot towel treatment put me over the moon!!! Lee does great acrylic nails! They are very nice and not busy! Very clean and fast! Nice chairs and equipment!! I recommend coming here! A full set of acrylics is $25 if you want them long it's $3 more which I find odd. And if you want coffin shape it's $5 more which again I didn't like all the extra cost but the nails came out good. read more

Lee is amazing! I have had my nails done for years (acrylics) and I could tell she is experienced. She took her time, my acrylics were perfect. Not rushed at all. TERRIBLE. This salon had the worst skill of manicure and attitude of service in my ten years' experience of nail care, though it's big and looks clean. It worth my first review on Yelp. An old lady served me: 1. She cleaned my previous gel at first, thank you for that part. 2. We had a little warm chat while she shaped my finger nails, and started to cut away the cuticles of the right hand in a rush taking less than 10 sec (which hurt me but without an apology). I was confused but I thought it was a rough cut and would be taken care of later. Then she started to put gel on my nails hurriedly while the nails were still unclean and not smooth at all. I asked slowly in a very good attitude and soft voice to let her shorten and clean some of the nails. She didn't listen and suddenly got angry and let me put my hand under the light. I knew it's definitely not the right way to do it well, so I told her it was too fast to get to this step. She said nothing and washed all the new, not lighted Gel she just put on to my fingers without asking, and ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE SHOP (with everything unfinished), saying that "You just leave! It's free. This is just the way I do it!" I was too shocked to react. I asked her why and what's happening. She said she had appointments very soon and asked me to just LEAVE. I asked her why not tell me earlier, and got no feedback. Afterwards she asked another girl to take over. The funny part was that the color I chose turned out to be EMPTY, after one of my fingers is already colored. So that all the nails needed to be CLEANED UP AGAIN! Doing this kind of cleaning twice in such short time HARMS the nails but they DON'T CARE! This was all because of their RUSHING and NOT FOLLOWING STANDARD PROCEDURE! Then the appointment customers came in and both of them started to serve the girls, leaving me await. She acted like it was my fault, that I had wasted her time! I decided not to do the gel and ask the second staff to finish my basic manicure. During that time the old lady walked around and talked to the girl in their language (some language from Southeastern Asia). I guess she was talking BAD on me because I heard the word "China" for several times, that's where I told her I came from as a visitor at the beginning. After all I paid and tip the second girl. A nail salon is always somewhere a woman has her relaxing and enjoyable time and money spent. My experience at this place was really bad and UNBEARABLE. The old lady doesn't speak English well and neither do I, but language is not the problem in this issue. I did a mani and pedicure at another store 5miles away a week ago. The staff there spoke the same language as the technicians speak here, but they were really warm and sweet, and did very satisfying job comparing to how I was TREATED here. Language is not a problem. What matters most is a good attitude in service and the capability of doing what you do well! This salon definitely does not worth your time. read more

If I could give this place a no star I would!!! I went in yesterday for a spa pedicure. I picked out a red OPI color. During the pedicure she made my big toe bleed, which I didn't say anything, because it had been over a month since I had been in for a pedicure at my regular place, so I figured I just had a lot of skin build up! When she did the red polish I could tell she was getting it on my skin around my toes a lot, but t she used the brush to "clean" it up. After the pedicure I sat for about 5 minutes and had to leave to pick up my daughter. The pedicurist has already put my flip flops on so I just left the tissue between my toes. I paid her 25 and left a 3 dollar tip. When I got to my daughter she said did you do your toes your self and I said no just had them done and she said by who a 3 year old. Needless to say they are horrible when I actually looked at them!!! So I went back this morning to get a refund and the lady said oh no I will clean up for you. I said I I want a refund and she said I did a good job for you I will not refund. She actually said there is not paint around my toes. I told her I wore socks this morning so some may have rubber off and she said no that wouldn't happen. They are fine I will jot refund. My husband's masseuse, Anna, didn't speak English but he managed to communicate with her a few words. He was pleased with his massage. The spa is very clean which was very important to us. The lighting is appropriate and so is the music. Prices are reasonable. What I didn't like too much: 1) The masseuse left the room during the massage to get the hot stones without saying a word. Left me wonder where did she go? 2) When I paid Chan at the front desk, in cash per his request, both masseuse were standing there waiting for their tips....awkward. I tipped 20% . My impression was that they weren't pleased, based on their reaction. Coco didn't even say thank you. I didn't like that. So, in my opinion, there are two opportunities there: 1) communicate when you leave the massage room. 2) provide a tip envelope in each room. Tipping should be discreet.

It's so warm in the main area, it's the same temperature as outside (where there's a heat advisory) and it's almost the same temp as the charcoal room. The charcoal room actually felt cooler because it felt less stuffy. The cold room was almost room temp and was packed with people trying to cool off. Multiple people were fanning themselves or drenched with sweat. We've asked multiple times for the AC to be lowered, where staff informed us that it was the lowest the AC could go. No other measures were taken to help with the heat, no fans or anything were put out. Our family came to celebrate two birthdays and were hoping to relax. We were not able to relax at all and instead wasted $200 at this not enjoyable establishment. We asked if we could get a partial refund, which the spa stated they could not. They offered us travel size soaps as an apology, which I declined.

Now the bad: The price for a massage is reasonable, but you must pay an additional 39.00 if you want a to use their lockers or robe, take a shower or use the jacuzzi. This was unexpected and confusing. Before arriving, I had called for clarification of this policy and was only told that they would charge 39.00 for use of the jacuzzi. I had no idea that I wouldn't be given a robe or allowed to shower without paying the extra fee. I'm in a spa club and I have never run into this issue before. This confusion may have been due to a language barrier. The shower area has a sign saying that you must run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to obtain hot water (!). I did so and still had to take a cold shower because the water never got hot. The only towels available are very small and very thin. They are not large enough to wrap around your body. The jacuzzi area shows deferred maintenance with broken tile, missing robe hooks and mold/mildew on the ceiling between the jacuzzi and the showers (ick). This is a nice facility, but the policies are confusing and it's sadly lacking in general upkeep. (See pics)

The other therapist also left the room several times because she was coughing, and each time she was gone for several minutes without apologizing or explaining why she was leaving. What made the experience even worse was what happened when we tipped. Both therapists made visible facial expressions, started talking to each other in their language, and one of them even walked away, leaving the tip sitting on the counter.
