Eve Beauty Lounge is across the street from Eve Beauty Source, but should not be mistaken as the same company. It's been around for a long time now (more than 3 years), and I thought I wrote a review about the place, but here we go again! Downstairs is your spacious, organized beauty supply store: from nail care to hair care, to wigs and other random beauty supply. Upstairs is a Nail and Hair Salon. The nail salon portion are run by Chinese folks and are a very friendly female bunch. Pricing is pretty decent. Actually, I think this is the only nail salon in Main Street Flushing (unless someone can correct me otherwise). Oh, the massage chairs for the pedicures are very comfy. The hair salon portion are run by Koreans. The hair stylists have changed over the past year, but somehow, there's always a Jenny working there. They take walk-ins and also do appointments (I like to walk in there often, never made an appointment). Jenny was a really good consultant and knew what was best for my hair (I needed conditioning treatment). There was a new protein product for deep conditioning treatment that I opted for. My hair felt so soft when it was done. Jenny was also a great stylist (I never really knew how to style my wavy hair since the first salon I when to made it look 70s-ish). They have a variety of items. The prices of supplies here are the same amount as the originals. Not a good spot if you're looking for something cheap. The excuse of "security guards" will follow you around the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. There's even mirrors that they use to check if you're stealing! Get security cameras and detectors if you're so concerned about people stealing. This makes my whole shopping experience very uncomfortable. Very disgusting and irritating way to prevent people from stealing. Acting as if we're some kind of dogs about to steal food from the cabinet. They should use their products to create clown makeup since that's how they act. I suggest making these clowns walk around the store to annoy them and to give them the extra exercise. read more

Pretty decent for what you pay for a manicure/pedicure in the city. Eve Beauty Lounge is situated on top of its own beauty shop. The lounge itself has an urban tempo. The decor of the place is modern & chic. The place itself is pretty clean so thumbs up for that. The woman who took care of my pedicure was very attentive. The pedicure made it well worth the $20 - from the cleansing to the scrub to the lotioning to the massage. I was definitely pleased w/ the results of my pedicure. My manicure, however, was a tad bit of a different story - hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. The manicurist only gave me 1 coating for the french & not only that, she painted the color on top of the white lining, which was something I was not used to. I was a bit disappointed w/ that & even pointed it out to her but she said it was sufficient - I guess it was decent overall since the manicure lasted me a week & a half or so. I came here on a Friday after work . Looking for a place to help my thin , cracking nails. I passed by a few places that only took cash. ( I had card) I finally found a place on Main street that took card and saw many people getting their hair / nails done. So I asked the woman at the counted if I could get my nails done. She pointed to another Korean woman and asked her if she could ask me what I wanted. The woman asked me what I wanted. I responded my nails. She spoke back to the woman at the counter speaking in Korean: " I don't want to take her , make her wait for someone else" she then responded in English: maybe 20-30 minutes. Sadly, I agreed , because I had a dinner date, and was a bit pressed for time. One hour and forty minutes later I was taken care of. After I had asked numerous times when it was going to be my turn. I had seen that all of the women who worked there , already turned new clients since I had gotten there. I was so annoyed, but determined to get my nails done. Finally, I was already with my color in hand, walking to my chair. When I got to the nail tech's table, I was greeted with a small tag on a stand that read: "Lucy". Lucy looked at my nails, and proceeded to file, and cut without asking what I wanted. I told her I wanted round edges and I got squared. " its more better " she said. I had picked a metallic color and she told me: " take pink. It looks nice. " I explained to her that I want a metallic color, that's why I picked it. I don't want pink. She proceeded to do my nails, adding the acrylic powder, she paid attention to this, maybe a little too much. When it come to pay, I gave her my card and she looked at me confused. "$24" she said. When I got back the receipt, it said " $25" I just assumed the extra $1 was tax. After signing my receipt, I was looked at intently by Lucy, she just sat there looking at me. I asked, " do you want me to go wash my hands? " she nodded. At this point my date had called and asked me what was taking me so long. I had explained I had come to a nail salon and from the last time we spoke, (6pm when I had walked in the salon) until that point, -9:30pm. I still hadn't gotten my nails painted. He asked me if I had spoken to them in Korean, being Korean himself, he thought they we're taking advantage of me. I responded no because they are going to see I am American like many others and just not respond. He hung up with me and I went back to my char. She still looked at me , I said what happened? She responded "no tip?" So I gave her a five dollar bill, she looked disappointed, so I gave her $2 more and she started to finish my nails. At this point my friend had come walked up into the salon looking for me. He was already beyond impatient waiting for me . He asked her: " How much longer?" She responded back : "10 minutes and then she dries" she paused at a moment and looked up when she realized my friend and I were talking to each other. Then she glared at me. Maybe because she thought I called him, but he had come on his own. I also noticed I wasn't treated like the other customers. ( no hot towel, and no lotion etc.) After she had painted them, I had noticed that one of my nails were cut and filed crooked. I had tried to show her but then she said "sorry we're closed". That was the last straw for me, instead of making a fool of myself, and yelling, and getting upset over ignorance. I left . I walked out of the place , said "Have a good night" and walked outside with my friend following behind. He convinced me that I should go back ABC make them fix my crooked uneven nail. I was hesitant, I didn't want to go back there and have than think I was being a nuisance on purpose. I called this morning and spoke in my best Korean ( which, according to my co workers, is like speaking to a native 12-year old) to someone on the phone, and I told her what happened to me, she said she was sorry, that sometimes the girls rush because they want to go home. She said come back and she will have someone fix it. I got my nail fixed, which was worth it, but what was better was the shocked-but-dirty looks I received from some of the staff there. After surpassing the language barrier i was able to describe that i wanted color gels on my nails. Shellac CND is the brand they use here and I had Mimi do my nails. She was AMAZING. She did a thorough beautiful job, careful and exacting and they lasted a full two week and even grew out without chipping. She gave me a back massage and took her time on my nails. They loose 2 stars for the management! I arrived at 7 the salon closes by 8, and at around 7:20 the manager lady was yelling at Mimi --"hurry", "you need to clean", "fast" on and on it was so annoying. Mimi ignored her completely and we actually started laughing about it. Finally I looked at the manager and said -- these are color gels it will go fast please calm down. She looked shocked that I understood what she had been saying -- and backed off a bit. But that was an annoying exchange I hate to be rushed. If you don't have the time then turn down my service but don't have me start halfway and then start rushing the person doing the work! HORRIBLE!!! This is the worst manicure ever, but you get what you pay for. $7 is cheap, but I swear I could have done a better job myself at home. I made the big mistake of coming here at 6:45pm, right after I got off the train from work. While waiting for a friend, I decided to get a quick manicure. Quick doesnt even cut it, it was like LIGHTNING fast. The whole process took 10 minutes to clean my old polish off, soak my nails, put some cuticle oil, and paint base coat, color, and top coat. The polish was streaky and didnt even cover my entire nail. I even did her the favor of declining the cuticle removal process because the trimmers looked so unsanitary. They rushed me so fast that two of my nails were already ruined before I walked out of the salon. I didnt even want to bother tipping for such a terrible job. I gave the lady $1 because she kept staring at me before finishing the job, and she snorted at me. Shitty service, shitty tip, what does she expect? NEVER coming here again. read more

So I decided to find a more convenient Nail Salon then the one I usually go to (which I have also reviewed). I was hesitant because I previously tried another nail salon across the street from this place and was so unsuccessful and I HATED IT. I haven't reviewed the because they aren't listed on here. When they do list them, they better be prepared, because my review is NOT going to be pretty. Anyhow, I walked in this place and it is a beauty supply store on the first floor. I have made purchases here and have been very satisfied. However, I dreadfully made my way up the stairs to where the Salon was and ahhhhhh. It looked so professional and CLEAN!!!!!! Which is a BIG factor for me. I was greeted by the receptionist and she quickly guided me to a nail tech. I told her I wanted white tips and she got to WORK. She only looked up twice. The first was to ask me how long I wanted my tips and the 2nd time was to ask me if it was my first time there. She smiled and then continued to work. I watched her and she was very detailed and CLEAN. She would file away and bring my nails closely to inspect any flaws. She did a great job. I was a little apprehensive at first because I am very picky with my nails. The finished product looked great, strong and natural. Oh and she gave me a GREAT hand AND arm massage. While she did my nails I also checked out the rest of the salon. The hair stylist seemed as if they definitely knew what the were doing. So I am letting my hair grow out about 4 more inches and going back here to get a funky Asian style cut. They were dressed very stylish , yet professional. I also like their coordinated plastic vest. LOL. ALSO, one BIG deal breaker for me at a Nail Salon is the PEDICURE section. If the place looks unsanitary, I would NEVER get my pedicures there. BUT NO, they had the BIG comfy massage chairs and the pedicure sinks looked VERY clean and organized. My experience at Eve Beauty Lounge was like an abusive relationship- for every horrible event, something was done to apologize to try to make up for it, with me wanting to up and leave included. I dropped by on a Tuesday evening right before 7 for a mani and pedi. I waited around 10 minutes and Wendy showed up. In the middle of my pedi aka cutting, she just got up and left... no explanation whatsoever. I waited 10 minutes, to see her sitting at a manicure table... as far as I could see, she wasn't even doing anyone's nails but just staring in the direction of the register. WHAT? Just as I was about to leave, she comes back and apologizes. FINE. Okay, I get it's not a fancy salon but she was going through everything like it was a race; .. if it was a race to give the fastest pedi ever, she woulda won. Just dabbing topcoat on- not even painting it.The last time I was there was during high school when my friend was getting her nails done.. lets just say it was more than 6 years ago, okay? ALL the decor is the same/no renovations made. I hesitantly asked her for an eyebrow wax after my pedi despite her appearing to hate being there. This was when Wendy (no pun intended) brightened up. She brightened up even more and seemed to take her time with my mani after I paid her a 20% tip too. Then came the super weird part... she handed me a new package of FEMININE WIPES at the end, saying it was free. The funny part is that I actually used them to wipe the excessive amounts of quickdry she threw on my nails since oil was bleeding (har har) everywhere. My nails came out pretty good, but I see color missing from the sides that weren't even painted. Overall, I would want service to be hospitable even without me giving a bigger tip/wanting more services.But $21 for a mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax is a greatttttt deal. read more

Randomly decided to pop in while waiting for my mom who was getting a haircut at another salon. The staff was very nice, the place was not crowded, and with some neon color slapped on the nails it was a decent experience. I walked in with my boyfriend (who politely conceded to getting a pedi and enjoyed the good scrub down, no polish of course) and they were very smitten with him. I liked my pedi more than the mani (it didn't seem clean enough) and I don't know if they truly used speed dry top coat bc I felt like I was there FOREVER drying. The manicurist was very accommodating though bc as I fidgeted while waiting to try I inadvertently smudged a nail. She quickly clean it off and redid it. No complaints. Be prepared (as with any nail salon in Flushing) to be bombarded with some people in your personal space. I love that they have a great selection of beauty products at a good price (compared to online or city) - also not ALL products but the hair items I get a deff cheaper. the two stars is for the upstairs nail salon - Oh man was that a nightmare... I want to be clear that i didn't even get my nails done because of how rude the women was. Went here to get my eyebrows done. I showed her a picture of how I wanted them done, a photo of me a few months before my appointment. She nodded and said she understood my request. While she was waxing my eye brows, she was jamming her fingers all over my mouth and face. Needless to say, I was pissed, and not comfortable at all. She asks if I wanted my upper lip waxed. I refused, to which she responded with, "you really should get it..." so I begrudgingly complied. When she finally said she was done, I sat up and looked at the mirror in horror. My eyebrows looked nothing like how I wanted them, and instead looked like round, thin arches. I was very dissatisfied but pretended to like it because she was watching me. Clearly, she didn't care about how I wanted my brows done. She did whatever was comfortable for her. I paid for her unprofessional service with my hard earned money, and walked away sharply without giving tip, because I didn't think she deserved it. I've been coming here for... 8 years now and it's a solid place. Get your manicure from Lucy if you can, seems like she's the head honcho here and she's great. It's $7 for a manicure and $15 for a pedi ($20 for both). For the price its good quality and the space itself is way nicer than the average nail salon in Flushing. Just go into the beauty supply store and go up the stairs to your left. Catch the eye of someone and let them know what you're there for. Eve's is known for distinctively impersonal service, especially in recent years. Still, the prices are great and my mani/pedis usually last a little less than a week without chipping. The store is great, the girls who work in the beauty supply are very helpful. Based on my experience downstairs I decided to go upstairs and get a mani pedi on a Friday afternoon. The person who did my nails was named Lucy. Worst experience of my life! She took forever so the other girls started the tub. Then she came and introduced herself. While doing my pedicure she was pinching my toes because her nails were way too long. Next she didn't even massage my legs ( like normal nail salons do). Then she did not even use the white scrub to scrub my legs and feet( like the other nail lady next to me did). So then we get to the manicure part, I chose powder (baby pink) she did not distribute the paint evenly, it looked like she tried to cover the mistakes made on the previous coat, I asked her to fix it so she put clear on it -_-. She then put me to dry and came back 15 min later and slapped me on the shoulder and told me not to forget to tip. I then told her " how do you expect me to tip you if my nails are wet?" she then stood there dumbfounded as if she did not understand what I just said. I gave her $5 to get her out of my face. Saturday the paint started to look like it was fading off like water color. I really regret going to the salon, what a waste of money. This is the worst service that you can ever get. The girl that helped me to select the hair supplies was very nice and gracious. But the woman at the register and the man standing in the front are obnoxious and nasty. I had gone there few times and spent a lot of money. I don't care if they are from a different culture, they are in USA where service to the customer is a priority, and that has nothing to do with the barrier language. Today June 11,2018 around 5:00pm the woman that worked behind the registered should be let go. Please don't spend your money in a place that you are not treated with respect. This is a country with the American dream, but people need to get their fact straight. We embrace any culture,but at the same time they need to understand that that they are not back home anymore, not even if they try to create a neighborhood where they feel they are back home, they are not.. this woman started criticizing me in her language litter she knew I was with my friend that spoke the same language. I was going to spend more than 300 hundred dollars on their overpriced items. But I realized that I don't have to do this, if you are going to be so nasty. I reduced everything to 100, just because is my money and if you don't know about service, then I spend it somewhere else. I wasn't planning to come here for a manicure, and I should have listened to some of the reviews about this place, but i took a chance. I went in for a manicire, and it was very, very mediocore. The regular salon I go to was a bit out of my way, and I was limited on time so I decided to try one on main street. First, they had me wait 15 minutes. Then the lady who did my nails, world record... there was another customer who had sat down first and had her nails started first... by the time I had my first coat of polish being painted on, her cuticles weren't even done. When I checked my cuticles were barely done. She barely touched them. The polish was uneven, and had little bubbles all over. The entire process of starting the prep to the finishing coat took less than 15 minutes. But then again, I'm not really sure what I was expecting from a place that only charges $7. If you want a mediocre job, but not an amazing job, this is the place to go. read more

The bf moved here from Brooklyn and during a visit I decided to get a mani. I came here on a Tuesday around 6:30 and I got the fastest manicure possible from Wendy. Pros: She gave an epic neck and shoulder massage when I was drying. If they offer massages she would be perfect. For a lot of places I've been to, this part of the service is over quickly, but Wendy spent a lot of time on digging into my tired shoulders. The hand massage was also very good. And she seemed very sweet. Service was quick, I got helped right away. I look young, so when service don't treat me like a kid I'm happy. Cons: She nicked my cuticle on one finger and it started bleeding. Wendy was very apologetic, well she seemed apologetic, language barrier and all... The skin around a few nails stung when she used the acetone, most likely from the rough cuticle pushing. The paint job wasn't very good. Looking at my nails now, she got the polish onto my skin, past the cuticles and on either side. It started to peel already. I didn't notice when I was there because the color I picked was so sheer, (essie Sugar Daddy) The women next to me got there around the same time and she was only up to the hot towel when I got up to leave. But the worker was chatty with her, so perhaps special treatment for friend? Or I just picked the wrong person. Price was $7 for a Mani, and I tipped $4 which she seemed happy with. Got a mani/pedi from Mimi (Chinese lady) who was very nice and worked hard. Paid $20 and gave $20 tip. Back massage at the drying station is nice too. Not every place does that. For the flushing area, this place is very good. Nails were painted well. I remember I used to get a haircut here also and they did a good job. I've been here a couple of times but the results are always the same -- mediocre. The prices here are competitive to salons of similar quality in terms of cleanliness and equipment. The machines look to be in good condition and well maintained. They do not use a new set of tools for each customer, but it appears to be fairly sterile otherwise. The manicure itself is always mediocre at best with nails sometimes poorly shaped or imperfect coating. However, they always offer a complimentary 2min-ish massage while you're drying your nails that feels sublime. I would definitely return for just a massage one of these days. read more

I have been going here for 18 months spending at a minimum $40 a month in the beauty supply portion of the shop. I have been there so often the owners recognize me when I come in. The problem is the staff. The past three times I have been there they have been completely, and horridly rude. I like to smell products before I buy. I cannot stand some of the perfumes in products and will not buy. So I was doing what I always do smelling before I buy. The new cashier started screaming at me. I told her I was smelling them. She kept screaming and wouldn't stop. The other shoppers in line at the cashier walked away and she kept screaming you were using the conditioner ?? How does one use a conditioner in the store I asked? Then she opened the conditioner I was buying and broke the lid so it didn't close. She yelled at me and said I had broke it and yelled at a clerk to get another one. The owner came to the register at this point and tried to fix it the tube lid. The clerk was upset and couldn't find my product so I walked back to help find another one. The cashier was still screaming blaming me for breaking it, for opening it to smell it, her screaming was screeching and the entire store emptied. So I grabbed my purchase in the bag and had the tube of conditioner I took off the shelf with the clerk and started walking out the door the cashier still screaming the entire time. Then she started screaming that the other tube had been fixed and why was I taking out another tube? The entire time still screaming. Just kidding. I don't think I trust this place anymore. The quality of their nail products seem very suspect to me. Being a polish-holic, I'd like to say I know my stuff. I feel like they pour thinner in a lot of the OPI/Essie bottles. The formula is runnier than usual, and the color payoff isn't the same. I purchased a Seche Vite base coat treatment from here and the brush felt very flimsy compared to my Seche Vite top coat I bought full price from Target. The formula of the base coat was very runny and it wasn't doing anything for me. I've noticed the polishes dry extremely matte after multiple coats whether they're creme, or neons. Normal Essie doesn't do this. It was the last straw when I tested out a jelly white color by Essie, and after I put on a legit Seche Vite topcoat, it yellowed. I also have a creme minty green from OPI that yellowed after 3 days as well. I won't be purchasing polishes here again, and I'll be sticking with my favorite e-tailers. Went to have my eye brows waxed. The waxing was done well, the staff was ok (not that friendly), the salon was kind of clean. The was hair on the floor and in the chair in the waiting area because I noticed some on my clothes when I left. I did not appreciate the staff asking for a tip when I left. They continue to glare at me as I was putting my wallet away until one of then finally mentioned a tip. The whole point of a tip is the customer being so pleased with your work and customer service that they OFFER to give a tip. It is RUDE to ask for one!!!!!
