Just had an annual eye exam and it went very well. Really liked this doctor and this business in general.

She canceled my surgery the night before at 7pm. She mentioned something about my MRI results…read more I had the procedure done two weeks prior to surgery. She had plenty of time to look at . But she didn't. She waited until the last minute to call me at work. I was so excited, happy and was looking forward to it. And the fact that it was a medical issue and the insurance company approved it. And so I was all in. I was well prepared for this. I did my own research online on what to expect and what not to do after the surgery. I had to pay my full deductible prior , and I have no idea what the total cost is. I did everything what the nurses said for me to do, and to be at the hospital on time. I mentioned to my manager , I will be out on medical leave and disability, Then to tell him the bad news. He was shocked. What am I supposed to do. He already removed me from the work schedule , that has been prepared 2 weeks in advance. He gave me the day off of the supposed to be surgery, and will figure out on how to get me back on. Until that is fixed, if not I'm out of work for that time and no pay. I had my disability form on my end filled out, and went to her office to drop it off, and it was closed. So I slipped in the paperwork under her door. This is very unprofessional, and not acceptable to me. We're not talking about a simple procedure that can heal in a week. We're talking about my eyesight. She was highly recommended and I trust my doctor's opinion. And to tell him what happened and to refer me to another surgeon. It's a totally waste of my time, effort, stress and money of going back and forth to her office and to be on time for my appointment.

The office is clean, modern, and well-organized. The doctors take the time to explain each part of the exam and answer all of my questions. I never feel rushed, and I feel they care about their patients' eye health and experience. The front desk team is helpful with scheduling and helping me understand what my insurance covers. I also appreciate their input when I'm picking out frames! Overall, being a patient here has been a really great experience as someone who gets squeamish when it comes to all things medical, they always make me feel safe and looked after. If you're looking for a place that combines professionalism, kindness, and high-quality care, take this as your sign!

The quality of the glasses is poor (while it costs more than $300) -- it already has scratches when I received it (see attached photo), while I have not worn it at all. They made a pair of sunglasses in the wrong color. When I pointed it out, they flatly denied it and insisted the color was correct, effectively treating me as if I were color-blind rather than taking responsibility for their error. I end up have to take the mirror off the glass to receive the correct color. Despite this being entirely their fault, they refused to provide any refund or compensation and continued to respond with an extremely dismissive and unprofessional attitude. Don't come.

Please be aware that Costco does not cover the frames of eyeglasses... I was there this morning…read morebecause the paint on the metal frames was coming off..in 2 places..... I have bought numerous eyeglasses from Costco and have never had a problem...so this was most likely the manufacturing of the frames fault....They are less than a year old.... Also the gentleman that helped me said I must have done that by hitting them against something hard..... So lets dissect that statement....The first chip was right above the lens....So if I did hit it against something hard....why wouldn't the lens break or have some damage.... Secondly there was wear to metal on the inside the nose area ( the Blue metallic pain is gone)....How in the world would I have done that? And most important I could chip it off with my fingernail.....so.....please explain this to me....Make it make sense..... So please understand that if you buy glasses here....your frames are NOT covered....That is what I was told....

EDIT: update from 2 to 5 stars -- Alicia called me back and really helped me with my questions…read morestep-by-step. I was very impressed with the follow-up, patience, and helpfulness. Turns out they did have some samples in my prescription in stock! I'm glad they helped me out this time. S/o to the girls at the front desk! Generally I've had a solid experience when working with folks here (my file was transferred over from another office in the past) but just had an awkward phone call with one of the staff. I asked a few questions I was concerned about and got some answers, asked if they had my prescription in stock (which they didn't, which is fine), but after that it was followed up with awkward silences after asking if there are any options I could explore, to the point that I wasn't sure if they were still on the phone. I heard typing in the background so I wasn't sure if they were looking into it for me, but looking back I think he had mentally moved on from the conversation. I asked to see if someone else could help me -- but was met with "everyone else is busy". He asked for my info, and I asked "will I get a callback regardless or only if there's a solution", and the way he answered seemed like I probably wouldn't get a callback. Like some empathy or "we can't help you, but you can explore these options (samples, boxes or brands they do have in stock, etc)" to provide direction . Idk if Benjamin was just having a bad day, but I felt like a burden and an annoyance for asking questions and didn't really have the empathy nor the time to want to help me problem solve.

I found in both (separate days) instances , they had done a optic scan vs a pupil dilation (covered by insurance). One signed a consent, one did not. Both were not aware there was an extra charge. The 2nd time around, I decided to point it out, and they had no problem with not charging, but it is the principle and I want to be able to trust my doctor best interest in me (financially as well) vs making a quick dime on these sneaky charges. With the first visit/kid, I let it go). 2nd visit, I had to speak up... probably going to be looking for a new optometry place...
