This seemed fine until folks started to come in for drinks, at which point it got hard to hear the performers. I hear the place has new owners. TBH, it could use some sprucing up. The plaster is quite literally falling off the ceiling in a couple spots. None of us used the restrooms, so not sure what shape they are in. In fact, I'd say Downtown Sounds is the quintessential Bellingham experience. Held on multiple Wednesdays during the summer months, this free concert/street festival brings together the best our sweet city has to offer. And this year it got even better as the layout of the festival was flipped on its access, creating a larger beer garden (no more long lines!) with full view of the action on stage, plus a great food truck area with local yumminess like tacos, tamales, and ice cream. We got there about half an hour early to try and get lunch before the performance started, but it took a while for the food to show up. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the double bacon cheeseburger was. Also, they had an option of waffle fries, or hand cut fries. The hand cut fries were awesome. The others had a breakfast burrito that actually was too small burritos and hashbrowns. Unfortunately when they brought that out, they didn't bring any silverware so he didn't eat the hashbrowns. The sausage omelette was good and had a good amount of sausage in it. The students looked to enjoy themselves, and we, their fans did too.
