I will admit that I considered not hiring a coordinator (weddings are just so expensive & we were looking for anything possible that we could cut out) but if you are on the fence like I was, PLEASE listen to me & hire Emily! She was so much more than a day of coordinator for us & saved us money throughout the process. She gave us recommendations for other vendors during the planning process & those vendors gave us discounts when we mentioned we were referred by her. She also let us use her extensive list of rentals so we didn't have to buy candles, table numbers, seating chart, ect.. We even had a hard time holding our venue to the terms of their contract (due to management change after we signed) & Emily handled all of that stress & communicated for us. She also communicated with all the vendors a couple weeks before the wedding which allowed us to resolve potential problems before they arose on our wedding day. She also was able to bring things to our attention that we just simply would not have thought of (despite hours of researching weddings online in our year engagement). She recommended things she had seen work well in the past & simply warned us about things she has seen go wrong. I probably called her 20 times in the week before the wedding with questions & she was also very responsive and never seemed to mind. But honestly my FAVORITE part of having Emily was waking up on my wedding day & getting to get ready without anxiety & truly enjoying the day with my friends & family because Emily was the one doing all the decorating and set up of our wedding. My parents got to truly enjoyed the day because they weren't working to set everything up and run the wedding. When I first saw our venue all set up & decorated, I was so happy! All the work we had put into planning the wedding had been worthwhile because Emily knew what we wanted and was able to make our vision a reality! She also made sure we were on a schedule and the wedding ran smoothly but I never felt rushed by her. She even carved out a few minutes for my husband & I to be alone after the ceremony. We had an amazing time at our wedding, as did our guests & so much of that was due to Emily. Please do yourself a favor & hire her!

She was extremely unresponsive which was difficult as a bride with nerves and for facilitation of communication between vendors. One of her main selling points was making sure that my family would not be active in set up and organization of ceremony but she consistently strayed from the set up instructions she insisted I create for her use. My family had a hard copy of the same instructions and had to re-orient her to my vision throughout setup multiple times. I later found out that special favors I wanted at a certain location were not set out and thus not taken home by guests and promises were made such as taking my flowers out of water to be dry before the ceremony (which they weren't) and that my cake would be taken out of the fridge so it was defrosted at cutting (it was given to me frozen). Katelynn even insisted that my mom should not bring me and my husband our champagne for toasts, yet she never completed this task and the photographer ended up getting it for us. There were a myriad of things that I could go on, but finally I want to address how she MADE me do a full inventory so she "could return everything to it's proper bin to take home" and as I sit here unpacking things are every which way and she put linens/paper products in with things that had held water and are now moldy and unable to cleaned. I would NEVER recommend Katelynn and Sage Event Co. to anyone I care about getting married and plan to communicate with the venue who has her on their suggested list in turn.

We hired her as a day-of-coordinator but she went above and beyond that typical role and met with us a couple of times to make sure all the details were in place. She would bring up a lot of points that I hadn't even thought about! And when our wedding day finally came, she was an integral part of the day going without a hitch. I wanted someone to be the go-to person so that I could just enjoy the day and if there were any issues that arose, I am blissfully unaware, which meant Julia perfected her role that day. She helped us with the rehearsal and setup and worked together with our venue coordinator to produce the most perfect day. Her response time is impeccable and I always got the impression that she cared a lot about our event personally.
