We changed an old tub for a wonderful upgrade, expanded the shower area, with high-end glass, added excellent tile work throughout (he has a great tile guy), changed counter-tops, and even moved a wall of 50 year old cedar panels to extend an existing wall. Were there hiccups along the way, sure. But now, several years later we are thrilled to use these rooms every day. We work at home and the lifestyle enhancement has been profound. Truth be told we did a good deal of research before and chose well with our components and visual choices. The paint work was superb (he has a great paint team too). The team had an amusing cast of characters and I enjoyed them. They took tremendous care to keep the spaces (bedroom next to the bath) absolutely clean and protected. It took a while with delays and fixes but now all I can say is we really appreciate all the effort that went in and Milt's good spirit to get it right. If you want a successful project like we experienced i'd say you might need to be an engaged partner in the process, that's what I did and the results speak for themselves.

Background: I had a new gas insert installed by Rich's in Bellevue in a 1963 fireplace that had a "log lighter" from the same year. 2 days later I smelled gas...(not good). The installer for Rich's (and the sales person at Riches) basically said it wasn't their problem and that I would need to hire a contractor to remove the cabinet to get at the gas line to repair it. (Boo for Rich's...one spends 6K for a new gas fireplace and that is the response???) Well at least I didn't blow up and knew enough to turn off the leaky valve feeding the new fireplace. But back to removing that cabinet...Problem is, that cabinet is part of my custom kitchen cabinetry, has a quartz countertop, has 2 HVAC vents in the base and to top that off, electrical (for the new gas insert) running through it! So, hoping I could figure out a different solution, I removed cabinet drawers, cabinet face horizontal wood strips for between drawers, and rails for drawers. I cut a hole as large as possible with a jigsaw (about 7" x 18"). Puget Sound Gas said they could do the job! They put in new valve and line for only $500!!! Hiring a contractor and removing that cabinet would have been several thousand I'm sure and my kitchen would never have been the same. Thank you Puget Sound Gas for tackling my complicated job with a "can do" attitude, expertise to problem solve and for exceptional value!

This company is a fraud. We agreed on terms shortly after the owner, Mike Makus, secretly closed…read morehis business and let his license and bond lapse. We had no idea he had done this, or we would never have allowed him to do the work. He held himself illegally out as still running a business, and then performed the work so poorly that we have to have it all redone. He literally sealed the fireplace making it unusable. We tried it out and choked our family on smoke for hours while we tried to figure out how to put the fire out without creating more smoke. The house and furniture smelled of smoke for weeks. When we gave him multiple months to repair his egregious mistake, which he promised he would with an every other week text message that said he would get it on the schedule, he finally confessed he had been lying the whole time and had no intention of coming out to fix the problem. There is nothing he could say that I would believe at this point, and he has left us with a multiple thousand dollar repair, which is more than the job cost. Do not be duped by him. This has been a nightmare, and he should be ashamed of taking advantage of people the way he has.

He added some sealant around the flashing, but when it rained again, we still had water enter our house around the chimney. I tried to reach Mike again many times and eventually discovered the business has been closed since before we contracted to have the work done. So disappointed. This is a very unethical business. I am on my own to get my chimney back to watertight as it was before he started.
