Ignore any negative reviews -- I've ordered takeout from Evergreen in Brooksville DOZENS of times over the last 7 years and the food is ALWAYS FRESH, CLEAN AND FULL OF FLAVOR -- and the prices are incredibly humble for the portions. Their vegetables are bright, colorful and cooked perfectly. Meat is lean and tender! I just got food again from them last evening and it was amazing as usual. No tummy/digestion issues whatsoever -- just good clean healthy food, cooked to order. Spending $10 for a balanced healthy fast food meal (with leftovers!) is so much smarter than some greasy burger for the same price. I hope Evergreen is here for another 7 years!! read more

Ordered takeout and got back to the office to eat my lunch. I got halfway through the eggroll before I realized it didn't taste or smell right. The eggroll had raw pork inside. I called and informed them and she said "we cook it 10 min". I told her she needs to cook it longer. Unreal! read more

Ordered the orange chicken lunch special for $6.25. It was a huge amount of food, but it was just awful. Something about the orange sauce tasted rancid, the wonton strips were too greasy to eat, but the egg drop soup was fair. The best food was the basmati rice, plain since i don't eat pork. The rice was delicious. Personally, i would cook smaller portions and up the quality. The service was excellent. Bathroom supposedly out of order. read more

Second time I tried this place and it was worse than first time. Place is dirty, grungy, counter help rude, disinterested, barely speaks English. Food is about inedible now - ordered something hard to mess up -- chicken and broccoli. Chicken was spongy mess, sauce was slime. Could not eat this tasteless, warmed over mess - even my dogs didn't want it (without the broccoli of course). Never again. read more

Today when I ordered I had to repeat my order 4 or 5 times and every time he would say something different than what I was ordering. Said he was new , so when I went to pick up it was wrong. The Double Cooked Pork was tasty but not worth the other things I had to endure. I would have given a 1 star if not for the Double Cooked Pork. The Fried Rice was acceptable. The Hot & Sour was oily and tasteless. The cook sneezed repeatedly while cooking but never stopped to wash his hands. The General Tso's was all sauce (a gelatinous corn syrup goo) and four tiny pieces of broccoli. Nothing like the pictures. The owner was so stingy, he wouldn't even give us a cup of water. The final intestinal treat was the family feud we had to endure. You don't have to speak Chinese to know that the daughter was being a brat and the boys had had enough. read more

Evergreen is the best Chinese food I've found in the Spring Hill/Brooksville area! I've gotten Take Out from most of the ones over near Spring Hill Drive & the parkway but recently changed my typical driving route and needed something in the actual Brooksville (50/41) area. I tried China Garden, based on the other reviews,and was disappointed when they charged me $1.00 extra for leaving the pork out of my fried rice.. then imagine my surprise when I got a hideous migraine headache from all the MSG in the food (on the bottom of their menu it says "Must ask to not have MSG added"). Evergreen really blew the socks off of China Garden. It's a typical takeout style chinese restaurant and their menu is pretty standard. The prices are reasonable for lunch and the combo platters are a great value. They have a coupon on their menu for some free things like Krab Rangoon with a $20.00 purchase... General Tso with a $30.00 purchase. They don't use MSG and the freshness is fantastic! When I opened the container of Shrimp Lo Mein tonight it brought back feeling of the Chinese food I had in San Fran & Northern Cali and not typical Florida Chinese food. They also do free delivery! If you want Chinese up in this area then you really need to give this place a try! read more

Probably the worst Chinese takeout ever. Poor service. Ordered chicken wings after being assured they were not breaded, "just plain and fried." The wings were breaded. I called after getting the order home and they put the phone down for about 10 minutes while they tended to other customers calling in orders and then the woman who finally answered my complaint was totally unconcerned and almost rude. Very disappointing. On top of that, the Kung Pao Chicken and Fried Rice was pretty tasteless too. The best thing we ordered was from their "Diet" menu. The steamed vegetables, to which we added butter and a sprinkle of salt, was perfectly steamed and tasty. Sad that the "diet" food item was the tastiest thing we brought home. My family and I really enjoy this place. The food is always hot and prepared well. I recommend the fried dumplings and beef with broccoli. A little pricey if you are getting select items on the menu. I was in town on holiday staying at nearby hotel. After a long travel day (tired and hungry) we were relived to find some Chinese delivery nearby. We placed two orders from the chef's special column on the menu. One, for Kung Pao Chicken, one for Sesame Chicken. We received two orders of orange chicken and when we called to explain they insisted that was what we must of ordered, although our receipt had the correct items listed. It was like they had a bunch of orange chicken handy so that's what they sent. (Chefs special??) On top of that the orange chicken was not very good and I have better egg rolls from a convenience store. Don't order here.
