I was pleasantly surprised to have the Chinese food here. I got it the other day, June 15th 2021. I got general tso and egg Foo young for myself. Best egg Foo young I've had in hernando for sure. I am from New York, long Island Chinese is hard to beat. Crab Rangoon were good, fried wontons and egg rolls as well. Sweet and sour chicken was great. My 3 year old loved the lo mein. For starters, options for quick, take-out Chinese food in Spring Hill are very limited, so we generally order from here for our fix. However, their fried rice - something so iconic and typical for Chinese take-out - is seriously lacking in flavor and ingredients. I ordered the chicken fried rice. The chicken was bland, almost tasted like it had been boiled, not fried, and the rice was yellow, like the boxed "Mexican yellow rice with peas and carrots" that you can buy in the store. There were some eggs in there, but they also lacked flavor. My friend ordered the sweet and sour chicken, which was dripping with oil and contained very little chicken (it was mostly breading). What King's Wok does do well are their soups and appetizers. The egg rolls are fine, the hot & sour, egg drop, and wonton soups are fine, but the entrees need a serious hit of flavor. However, they do have good service - friendly employees, fast take-out, and a clean restaurant. read more

So - looking for a quick dinner and heard this place is good. We decided on take out. I'll call it okay. We ordered wonton soup, shrimp lo mein, General Tso's and sweet and sour chicken. The woman who took the order said 20 minutes. We arrived on time, waited a minute or so and home we went. The wonton soup was pretty good, loaded with wontons but a touch bland (I know, I know, but expected a little more). The shrimp lo mein was pretty good, lots of perfectly cooked shrimp and the right seasonings. The General Tso's was not spicy at all but the sauce was ok and the chicken was good. I'd love to tell you about the sweet and sour chicken....but they forgot to put the sweet and sour sauce in the bag. That said, it would have been good judging by the chicken they remembered to pack. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE... We just moved about 6 months ago from 34608 to 34609. Tried KINGS WOK takeout on Powell in Silverthorn Square, since it was closer than my other takeout where were used to live.. I have 5 other households of family that moved here also that also orders from them. Everytime I order, the totals are never right. I've noticed its $2.13 more here and there... so I've ignored it over and over until tonight... My cousin called them and asked why...their answer was because the soup was separated... and wontons on the side... It's separated to start with at the restaurant, why charge me more?? I didn't ask for extra broth which I happen to take broth out to see actually how much more they added.. which was 12 tablespoons. Then they said it was a special order... For what?? Not to add wontons into the soup?? Then they said you get more broth.. well I DIDN'T ask for "more broth". Sometimes they charge extra and sometimes they don't??? After giving them the opportunity to rectify this, they actually didn't, and hung up on my cousin, who called them. Tonight they lost 5 customers because of that. There's not another take out in Spring Hill that charges extra for soup with wontons on the side! I will go back to my old one that is a little further and knowing they're honest and wouldn't hang up on a customer before trying to make good!! AND THE FOOD IS MUCH BETTER... SO, I'll be back to China Kitchen on Spring Hill Dr and Mariner (4 corners) in the Walgreens shopping plaza.. Their loss not mine... They have too many competitors! read more

Best Chinese food in Brooksville. The food and meats are fresh. The beef taste like they shaved it off a steak, not bought a big frozen bag of beef. Same goes for the sweet and sour chicken. It taste like they bread them and fry it . I live right down the road from them , but I would drive by 10 Chinese restaurants to go to this one. read more

Service was slow. Order was wrong. For one meal we ended up with some unknown inedible slop. Egg rolls and crab Rangoon tasted like burnt oil. The thing about the meal was the 2l of Pepsi and I hate Pepsi. The staff was pleasant though that can not make up go the other issues. Better than other Chinese take out I've tried in the area. Open kitchen and veggies always have a fresh taste. I should mention quick frying in oil is the way most stir fried dishes are cooked. So it's normal those are a bit oily. There are other steamed options which is how some other dishes and typical dim sum or buns are cooked if you want to avoid oil.
