There has been a nasty burnt smell on my clothes after using the dryers for the past few days. After doing some research online I have decided to clean my dryer vents and see if it will solve the problem. Sometimes a clogged vent can cause the lint to build up and potentially be a fire hazard. Evergreen is the first company that I called and I immediately decided to use them due to the short wait time (2 hours) as oppose to 3-4 hours from competitors. Tal and Giovanni are the techs that came out to perform the service. They are on time and very polite. They were able to clean out the vents and clean up in less than 20mins! However, the smell did not go away so we decided to open up the vent connecting to the dryer to check it out. Guess what we found that's lurking inside the bottom of the dryer vent? A dead snake!!!! Tal and Giovanni were quick to dispose of the snake and sanitize the vents at no extra charge! I really appreciate the fact that Tal went the extra mile on figuring out what's really causing the problem instead of just clean the vents and call it a day. He explained that he was going to dismantle the blower completely and do a very thorough cleaning . This did pump up the bill a lil however needed to be done. I messaged the owner and got a prompt response so I scheduled a duct cleaning for our home. They were scheduled to arrive between 1-3pm today. They told me the technician would call me 30 minutes prior to arrival as a heads-up. At 1:21 I called them to ask if they were running on time, and if they had an idea of when the tech was coming. They said they would call back but didn't. At 1:46 I called again, and was told they would check with the supervisor. Never heard back. At 2:29 I called again and was told it was "out of our hands" and that the supervisor hadn't responded. ??? At that point it was 30 minutes before the end of the supposed arrival window of 1-3pm. I asked what the status was and she put me on hold to call the supervisor. Then came back and said the technician would call. 10 minutes later the technician called to say that he was "running late and stuck at a job" and could we reschedule for another day. WTF? This is a terrible first impression and I would never treat customers this way. The tech was supposed to call me right back to see what he could do, or if they could send someone else today. When you schedule for a 2 hour window, you should show up during that window. I had to arrange my entire day around this and now turns out they aren't coming and never called me back. Awful communication, and no way to treat a potential new customer. So I've wasted the entire afternoon waiting for them, for no reason. Very disrespectful way to treat people. Beware. UPDATE: Tech called me at 3:30 and said he could come between 4-5pm. I was tempted to just cancel but I said ok. He arrived at 4, looked around, and then asked me when did I want to schedule the duct cleaning. The boss told him he was just here to do an estimate. However I already had an estimate done a week earlier. So now he's here and says he cannot do the work today and we can schedule for another day. WTF again? Who runs a business like this? It's not the tech's fault, it is the fault of the management/ownership/"supervisor" for dropping the ball every step of the way. I was staying at my friends place in LA for a week and he warned me that he wanted to get his air ducts cleaned for the first time. Not really knowing who to call first hand, we went straight to yelp. We found this company right away and it had such great reviews that we decided to try it. I had Evergreen Come out today for a free estimate on getting our ducts cleaned. Winter time is now arriving and every time I turn on my system I actually felt the dust in the air . Evergreen said that the ducts were made from fiberglass and needed to be replaced rather than cleaned. This was rather new information and still thought getting another estimate was very essential. I called another duct cleaning company that I found on yelp they too said that the ducts needed to be replaced however they were a lot more expensive than Evergreen plus I wasn't getting all the freebies that Evergreen we providing with their service. With out a blink of an eye I decided that Evergreen was the right company for the job. I called their office the next day to set up an appointment which could only be set up 2 weeks from that day . I really couldn't stand the dust anymore and 2 weeks sounded like it was going to take forever. I asked the rep on the phone if their was any chance to squeeze me in a little bit earlier than that and boy did he go to extremes to fit me in on an earlier date.I really appreciated that they try and do everything to make their customers happy. Our house recently finished construction on the new addition and as you know there was dust everywhere! Ugh, it seems like it's always allergy season for me. The sneezing, coughing, 24 hour kind of deal, on top of spring cleaning! Anyways, perhaps it was also due to spring cleaning that I notice asbestos while packing away my winter gear in the garage. It was small but watching Dr. Oz and his germaphobe hourly show and Inside Edition about molds, made me yelp. Yelping about food is one thing, yelping about cleaning stuff is another. I called in and a nice man greeted me on the phone. I told him that I had a problem with my air vent and if they could come check it out. Apparently, in order to remove the asbestos, I had to remove the duct as well and being an old home, twice my age, let's just say I'm an 80s kid, he was pretty cool with the price estimate. Our attic was completely contaminated and needed to remove the old insulation and install new one. The attic smelled so bad and every time I turned on the AC there would be a foul smell coming out which was unbearable and needed to get cleaned ASAP. I found Evergreen on Yelp, and to be honest I don't know a lot about having my air ducts cleaned, apart from when I used a terrible company in the past. Isik and Andres came to my home the very next day of me calling and they were on time, and very professional and they went above and beyond talk me through the process and gave me a confirmed price that was the same on the phone. The only complaint I have is that I wish we would had found them sooner and not wasted our money on someone else coming to "clean" our vents only to find out he didn't even complete the job. Bought the Groupon for up to seven air ducts cleaning. When the guy came out, he immediately went into hard sell. I've done sales for a while; pressuring a customer and saying "cancel your Groupon" is not good sales practice. When I politely declined the up-sale, he seemed quite frustrated. He hooked the machine to one vent and was in and out of the house in 20 minutes. I don't know much about air duct cleaning, but that didn't seem like a deep cleaning. I expected each vent to be vacuumed, but when I called and asked they said he ran the correct process: just vacuum the whole house through one vent. I later looked up their prices compared to other companies and this company has some of the best prices, so that was good to see. Tal and Giovanni did an awesome job cleaning our ducts. They are both so polite, so sweet, and provided me a thorough explanation of what was going to happen before they got to work. My dog was following them all around the house too, which was adorable. Dogs are a good judge of character so I trust these were good guys! My husband and I just moved into our home and found that the previous owners did not take great care of cleaning the air ducts. You could literally see the dust balls hanging outside and inside the vents that cover the ducts. It was really important to me to have this issue handled as soon as I could. I actually called Attic Masters to schedule this service, and Evergreen came out to conduct the service. They were done pretty quick, and the ducts look squeaky clean! Payment was also really easy. I was able to pay via credit card on Tal's cell phone, and my receipt was emailed to me. Tal and Giovanni did not try to sell me anything extra, but they did make a suggestion regarding what type of filter I should use.
