It has a nice atmosphere. The waitress was nice. The calamari was like tough rubber bands. The veal was tough and way over cooked. More like a thinly sliced pork chop. The Marsala sauce somehow had no flavor at all and required tons of salt and pepper to even taste it. Veal Marsala was served with under cooked Brussels sprouts and red potatoes cooked like home fries. All for 30$ a plate. I don't plan to return. read more

Small Mid-Western towns usually lack in the elegant dining department. The "Hi De Ho" diner and "Froggies pourhouse" are generally the norm. The floors are usually slippery and there is always gum or some other bodily secretion stuck to the underside of the tables. The "Ever-green" is none of those things. I had a party of 4 that was seated rather quickly. Booths with noisy vinyl seating were delightfully absent. I ordered Brushcetta and Filet Medallions as an appetizer. The presentation was wonderful. A Monet. The main course, skewered shrimp, with a starch and broiled Asparagus. Gustave Clarence Rodolphe Boulanger. Elegant and wonderful. I also ordered a Root Beer which came from a local brewhouse, not a large commercial soft drink company. How quaint. The only issue I have is the same with all American dining establishments. This desire to clear the table whilst I still sit. It takes away from the dining experience and ruins the atmosphere. I want to sit, digest and order another pint. read more

Just had my mom's 79th birthday with 17 people, the food and service was outstanding. It made for a very memorable night for my mother. They made a red velvet birthday cake which was amazing. The wine selection was decent and the prices for the wine was very fair. They have very good coffee to go with the large slices of chef made cakes. Finally got to try Evergreen, after months of avoiding restaurants. We were not disappointed. We had a lovely server, Sandra. She was very attentive, and promptly brought any extras we asked for. The beef medallions we so tender and delicious, and the wine glaze was yummy too. My husband enjoyed his swordfish. And we both had room for dessert. He had the 7 layer carrot cake, while I ordered the peach cobbler. It was wonderful. The restaurant is decorated for the holidays, adding to its charm. The entire staff couldn't have been nicer. Very friendly service and a fine dining experience -I ordered the featured halibut but requested a different preparation and they accommodated my request without a fuss and it was delicious! My husband's ribeye steak was okay but the bleu cheese crust on it was fantastic! The meals were served with baked sweet potatoes instead of the usual Idaho white potatoes - there was plenty of fish for me to take home a serving for my lunch the next day. The wine selection was more than adequate and they offer cork and carry home option for the unfinished bottle - which we appreciated and utilized - there is not an actual bar to sit around but cocktails were available/ prepared by our server. A dining companion ordered the featured scallops and that was THE best meal at our table. Traveling through US 31, we stopped because of a billboard. Best decision ever! We got the southwest egg rolls as a starter, the aoli and dicon was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the special, red snapper with redskin potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious!! My husband got the 14oz Ribeye and was cooked perfectly! Ordered the fettuccine alfredo and was so disappointed. It was sticky. I said something to the person in charge and she said that's just all the cheese and people love it. I told her it should be creamy. She offered to change mine but I wanted it over from scratch. I didn't know how they could adjust mine to a better quality. She didn't offer to adjust my bill. I wouldn't even take it home to the dog for fear she would choke it was so dry. They had marvelous lobster bisque and great dessert but the entree just left me saddened. I had to pick up something in Rochester and decided to have lunch. So glad I chose this place. Everything was delicious! I had the salmon BLT with fries. It was way better than I expected. Bacon was perfectly crisp, yet chewy. Fries were a mixture is sweet potato and regular, seasoned deliciously. And they have a huge dessert list, all homemade. Yum! Great dinner find while traveling along Highway 31 and looking for quality locally owned restaurant. My $10 entree of grilled rosemary pork tenderloin sandwich and fresh green beans was delicious, as was the peanut butter pie (big enough to share). While waiting for our meal I witnessed one individual send his food back and another reject his completely. We stopped by this restaurant on our way up to Michigan. It has a nice décor and service was excellent. They had a good variety of food choices on their menu. This hidden gem... is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! There seafood, there pasta, appetizers, etc ... everything is soo spot on. Amazing food and service. There food is so incredibly tasty. I love everything they offer. I do wish the place was bigger because it's THAT good. But hey, it's amazing small businesses like theirs that you don't want everyone to know about their spinach dip is to die for. Their shrimp is the best. Honestly everything they offer is incredible. When we arrived there was one table seated and another couple chatting with the server. The server was overly concerned about parking for the chili cook-off that day. So bad! We were there once before, at a regular meal time, had the fish and chips, and it was so good. We went in the middle of the day, and I ordered the fried perch, and it came out instantly. It was not deep fried, everything was cold, and I sent it back. The waitress told me she "nuked it a little more for me", not a good thing with fish! We were so hungry, going in after a doctors visit, anything would have tasted good, but not this. We ventured into Rochester looking to find a place to eat and we had 5 hours between basketball games. Looked into Yelp. This place did NOT disappoint. As we walked in, I fell in love with the atmosphere and was able to sit and see out two walls of windows. Service was good. Menus, hand made my the owners/staff offered a wide variety for any taste. Tuna Steak was seared to perfection. Beautifully plated and flavorful, we enjoyed conversation and spent time enjoying each other. Homemade dessert options, including cakes, pies, cobblers, apple dumplings, and cheesecake. I went on a limb and ordered the 6 layer coffee buttercream cake. Hands down, the BEST cake I have ever had. It presented a bit pricey at first, but after spending time eating and enjoying my time, totally worth it!! Don't come here to rush! We ate here on a busy Friday night and were amazed at the service and food! What a great experience; truly a great find on our way to Goshen. We will eat here again as soon as we get the chance! I really want to like this restaurant. We need a good place to eat in town. My big gripe is that supper is expensive. That would be fine if food is consistently good, but it isn't and there is my rub. If I pay $35 for a steak, I expect it to be excellent every time. Last night I plunked down $100 for a so so meal. We have eaten at Ever-green many times and each meal has been wonderful. For those that do not know their breakfast menu will simply amaze and their sweet crème pancakes are a must try item. Hash brown potatoes are made fresh per order, try finding that anywhere else in central Indiana. Dinner entrees change daily/weekly, Angus Beef is always on the menu as well as fresh fish. Ever-green also has a very nice wine list along with cocktails and beer.
