My friend called Snohomish Modern Dentistry because they are her dentist, and they had me in the chair in less than an hour! They numbed me up, which by the way, I didn't even feel the needle, and got to work prepping the tooth for the crown. They made the crown in-house, and I came back 48 hours later to have it placed. My original appointment took an hour and my crown placement took 15 minutes. This place is amazing! I highly recommend them and if you are visiting in Snohomish and have a dental emergency, this is the place to go! I also wanted to mention that they offered me a payment plan! Obviously I did not budget for a dental emergency on my vacation, and they were absolutely amazing, immediately offering me a payment plan with my first payment happening a month from now, not on site! I contacted several dental offices to find a dentist who accepted my insurance, Delta Dental with VA CHAMPVA. I explained that my goal was to have my tooth repaired. Dr. Yun M. Kang assured me that it would not be a problem and scheduled additional appointments. At my next appointment, the planned procedures were to extract the remaining root and complete a bone graft. When I arrived, Dr. Kang administered the numbing injections. After waiting approximately 10 minutes for the anesthesia to take effect, he informed me that the membrane required for the procedure had not arrived. As a result, the procedure could not be completed, and I was sent home after receiving the injections and being left numb. I was asked to return the following week once the necessary material was available. At my next visit, I went in to have my stitches removed, receive my permanent tooth, and confirm that the healing process was complete. Dr. Kang stated that the area had healed very well. When I asked about the next step, he informed me that my insurance benefits had been exhausted for the year. I had already paid more than $1,400 out of pocket. He explained that moving forward would be my decision and asked how much I was willing to pay. At my initial appointment, the front desk provided an invoice outlining the recommended treatment plan. I signed the document, agreeing to proceed with the treatment and pay my portion upfront. After completing these steps, I was informed that additional costs would be required because my insurance benefits had been used. At this point, I am still wearing a retainer, and my tooth has not been completed. I also experienced difficulty communicating with Dr. Kang due to a language barrier. However, clear communication regarding treatment plans, costs, and expectations is essential regardless of the circumstances. I encourage others to carefully review their treatment plans, obtain all agreements in writing, and ensure that both the patient and the provider are clear about the procedures to be completed, associated costs, and expected outcomes before beginning treatment. She first showed me around the clinic and introduced me to the dentist via pictures and handed me a welcome gift. My Hygienist was Kristi and OMG, she probably spoiled it for the rest of them because my expectations are very high now lol. She was just simply superb. The way she communicated was amazingly clear and the way she translated my findings to the Dentis was to the tee. My Dentist was Dr. Carlson. I must be getting old because she seemed so young lol. All together I am happy to say that I found a new dentist. the only feedback I have is with the high cost of getting things done I was offered a plan to break up the cost, but I think it was more like a credit card of some sort. She did say she would not pull my credit and that if she did it would be a soft pull but not until I looked up the payment plan. Of course I declined it immediately since the interest rate was 33%. I think they need to offer better options like my old dentist. They offer to break up the plan without having to apply for credit. But, everything was very satisfactory. I am glad to have found a nice, clean, modern and friendly dentist.

I recently went to a new Advantage plan and was told upfront what my co-pay would be only to find out later that I owed them an additional $80 as my insurance was no longer in network. Rather than having a discussion, alll I got was the same reply - they were no longer in network and they never accepted the responsibility for not divulging that when I checked in. Trying a new dentist tomorrow.
