After following video instructions and speaking with the manufacturer of the gateway, I was told I needed to contact the installer of the system (LASolar). LASolar's offices were closed Christmas Eve, so I wrote an email. I heard back the day after Christmas and after speaking with a customer service person, it was determined that a tech needed to come out. I feared the worst since it's the holiday season, but an appointment was made for Monday, December 30 and the technician calmly solved the problem. LASolar's customer service department is greatly improved from a few years ago. I was delighted by how responsive and communicative they were.

It was probably the most money I ever made in the 30 minutes it took me to get the information I needed and learn about Valley Solar. I had several other solar installers provide me with quotes and some of those were at least twice as much for a similar system. Some companies would not even give me a quote because they did not want to deal with Lodi Electric Utility. Once I contacted Valley Solar in January they responded immediately and I was up and running in March. The system has performed flawlessly producing power and I will break even in another 4 years. Valley Solar is very pro-active and has been out a couple of times to address issues with the system communication function. I did not request these visits, they just called and asked if they could come out and do some upgrades. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

Though it was a simple fix that i should have figured out on my own, after a number of calls to other solar companies, Tim responded quickly and made the process much better and more affordable. Extremely dissatisfied with my pool solar install by Magic Sun. I did not realize Magic Sun sacrificed the quality of my pool solar to sell me more electric solar... not cool. The pool solar is totally useless, does not produce any heat, when I asked for a review I was told I would need to cut down my (4) Birch trees (very delicate branches) in order for pool solar to work. This was not suggested or shared when installing the solar, perhaps they knew that would be a hard no. I will need to have new pool solar installed and repair my new roof. I am floored that Magic Sun could not manage to provide good pool solar and add enough electric solar to satisfy their profit. 1 star is being generous.

During the installation, he continued to stay in contact with me and any time we had any issues come up, he made sure the issue was resolved. I was again impressed at the level he went to clear those hurdles because I feel like I normally have to beg and plead with home improvement people to get work completed. ADT listed procedures on the web to solve issues with your solar, when that does not solve your issue, then there is no where to go. If ADT could not handle solar issues, they should stay in there lane with security systems. I have my solar that I cannot connect on my cell and there is no one to help. Paying for a system that we cannot get support! Ludicrous! What do I do?
