I wasn't starving and the portions seemed huge. Waiter asked if I wanted 1 or 2 biscuits. I opted for 2. What a mistake! They were enormous. So big, so much gravy. The biscuits were perfectly made. They could have been eaten just as they were without the gravy. They were the best biscuits ever. The gravy had a nice thick consistency that one expects from a breakfast gravy. I seen this place in TikTok and decided to give it a try. Some of my kids, my husband and myself went. Service was very fast, our hose was very sweet. Love going to this restaurant as a memory from my days gone by - when I worked here years ago when it was then Larry's Country Inn. It's wonderful to see one of the cooks Hector, I used to work with years ago is now the owner! His family works there too and It's a wonderful to see them! My husband and I just celebrated our 41 Wedding Anniversary yesterday and this was the location where I worked when I was 21. I worked as a waitress before I was getting married in 1984 ! My employer also helped set up and serve at our Wedding Reception which was held in the Santa Teresa Racket Club (I think) located on Cottle Road. It is always wonderful to visit and to get served there. They're doing a wonderful job. I'm so happy they reopened a while back , and now I believe they're open until 2 PM daily. Check it out please. We've come to this place a couple of times, including today, and it's about time we wrote a review. My wife got the Chile Verde Omelette with grits and Swedish Pancakes and I got the Chorizo Omelette with grits and pancakes with apple topping. Actually, I ordered the Swedish Pancakes but I told him with apple topping ($1 more) he then asked me if I wanted whipped cream. The answer to that is always a resounding YES! He ended up bringing me regular pancakes with all these same trimmings. I think what happened was as soon as I asked for apple topping his brain switched to regular pancakes mode. It was not an issue actually. I never pointed out the mistake. Any type of pancake is a good pancake...am I right? Also, it gave us a chance to try out two different kinds of pancakes. This is a fine restaurant located in a strip mall. They no longer have a tent set up outside in some parking spaces for Covid safety but they do have a fair amount of tables set up outside. This is where we sat. Inside the tables in the middle of the restaurant are spaced far apart. Not so much for the booths along the perimeter. This place is almost always busy and they had a waiting list set up outside. We timed it just right and sat right down. You might think the prices are a little high at about $18 a plate per omelette but the portions are HUGE! I think our order could have easily fed 4, OR MORE, people. We felt bad that much of it either went to the dog or was wasted. Both our omelettes were very tasty, and fluffy! How do they make them fluffy? The world may never know. As I said, the portions were HUGE! The grits were, well...grits. Nothing special, just grits. The Swedish Pancakes were thin like you'd expect and covered with Lingonberry sauce and had a scoop of Lingonberry butter in the middle of the stack. The wife thought they were tasty. My regular pancakes were good. The apple topping was a nice extra and worth the buck. I just didn't have enough room in my belly for all this food! The service was ok, not bad, not stupendous, but adequate. Overall I recommend this restaurant for breakfast. Bring a big empty belly or bring some extra bellies with you to help you eat all the food! read more

This is a bit of a county landmark that has been in business for near 40 years! One of my 30-something relatives remembered eating here with her family as a toddler! Superb food! We ordered breakfast to go from here three times this week past, and wished we had the chance to order from there more often! Here's what we'd recommend: 1) the veggie omelette.... ok, most breakfast places make omelettes with 2 eggs. Perkins and HoJos used to proudly advertise a 3-egg omelette. At home I usually make a 4-egg omelette because I need the extra protein (5-7g protein in every egg)... but.... here they use 6 eggs for each omelette! Unheard of but oh so awesome! One big guy can definitely fill up for a long day's chores and physical labor on one of these babies (don't ask how I know), but these are so huge you can easily share between 2 or more people. 2) Belgian waffles: these are equally delicious and amazing. Crisp on the outside and soft goodness on the inside. Huge sized as well. Came with a tub of the most mouth watering double cream butter imaginable ...plus maple syrup.... plus hash browns.... home fries also available as a substitute 3) Swedish Crepes: these are delightful and elegant. Perfect for someone who doesn't feel hungry enough for a large waffle breakfast. Came with handmade cranberry-strawberry butter that was so good we wished they gave us more! 4) Coffee.... nice! Full bodied and rich. None of your burnt bean Starbucks bitterness here, only rich smoothness. Excellent. Ordering was fast and easy. By the time we drove over 10 minutes later, the food was coming out from the kitchen. Super friendly staff and service! If I'm ever in this area again, this is the only place I'm going for breakfast! Stopped by for some drinks and dinner with a girlfriend. This spot has outdoor dining --hooray! They are known for their breakfast and brunch menus but we were there for dinner so we picked out a few favorites: Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and their signature Clubhouse Sandwich which also came with a side of fries. I believe all the dinner entrees are accompanied with a house salad with the dressing of your choice. As always, the cocktails were fantastic and the vibes were friendly. I would most certainly recommend this joint to anyone looking for good food, great service, and an amazing night out! Cute little breakfast dinner in San Jose but overall food was not to like. Staff was friendly. I would not recommend it and will not be returning in the future. Kids ordered pancakes and they were dense and dry. Crepe with strawberry yogurt was complete fail. Had to order my kid another dish. My husband and i ordered omelette Mexican and it was 3 egged topped with refined beans and salsa it has an odd taste and smell that I couldn't stomach. It came with side of country potatoes and crepe. Sadly I wasn't able to eat none. My daughter ordered cheese omelette. This version of omelette was not appealing. The eggs were to fluffy. The French vanilla cappuccino tasted like a vending machine coffee. Totally not happy. I went based on yelp reviews but wish I read more of the comments. I went to the Evergreen Pub 5/3/25 around 5:10 pm. Had some beers and let them know the beer from the tap was not as cold as before. She showed me the temperature and it said 40F. So I showed her from Google that beer kegs should be between 34F- 38F and anything above 39F will foam up. I was served some sever head at the top of my mug and she claims it was topped off which was untrue. I really like coming here but ever since after the pandemic the bartenders now dont really care. It is not like when Red and Alfredo was there where they where cool and served us cold beer. Just saying. read more
