This used to be a fantastic supplement store, but since the new ownership, I leave disappointed almost every time I come in. They don't carry nearly as many products as they used to, and what they do have is often out of stock or available in very limited quantities. They also rearranged the store so many times in one summer that it's now difficult to find anything. The staff doesn't seem to know much about some pretty common products either, which makes me question whether I can trust what they're stocking the way I used to with the previous owners. It's honestly pretty disappointing because I really liked this store before. Feeling bummed out, but the Kiva has been filling the gap and has everything I need these days! read more

Darn, this was an amazing store here in Eugene for years. I hate to admit that I took for granted the kind, attentive care I received from the long term staff of Evergreen. Now it seems to be owned by a person who just wants to make a sale and of what? There are so few products in the store it looks to be going out of building. read more

As a longtime shopper of Evergreen Nutrition, I am sorely disappointed in the changes made by new ownership. There are at least half the amount of product as previously stocked, and the staff is way less knowledgeable. I loved the previous staff as they were happy to spend time and make quality recommendations regarding the issue that I was experiencing . They truly seemed well informed, and I trusted them with their recommendations. The current staff person I worked with, while friendly, was not knowledgeable, and I did not have confidence in their recommendation. I will most likely not be frequent this location further due to this. I am sad that a Eugene staple is gone. read more

While I appreciate the selection this store has to offer, the service has been different for me than for those who have given 5 or 4 star reviews. The treatment I have received from the staff during my visits is my reason for 2 stars, pure and simple. The last time I ever went there the person working behind the counter was snappy and suspicious; whenever I moved from one end of the store to the other she watched me closely and, at one point, asked if I was "buying that." She warmly offered another customer help selecting some items in between shooting me suspicious looks. Only two reviews? Well that's probably because they have cornered the market - there is stuff at Evergreen you can't find anywhere else in town, like the reviewer below said. They are very helpful here, and it's great to have a resource like this in town. They have a very complete herb and homeopathic section, too. I also buy the replacement lights for salt lamps at Evergreen - the right-sized bulbs are hard to find now. The parking lot is really nice, I must say. Another perk - they have a discount program. If you have to buy any significant supplements, this really pays off. read more

I don't recommend this store any longer. Saturday I went in for some advice on a liquid multivitamin. I figured that, since Evergreen is local, they could give me some really good help on selecting the right one. A tall redheaded woman with short hair finally greeted me after standing around. I asked her some questions. She walked over to the liquid multi's, which were on a bottom shelf. She pointed at them (with her foot!) and told me to read the labels. I was shocked, I said, so you can't give me any specific advice? She repeated, you'll just have to read the labels and check the ingredients yourself. That's service???? I'm never going back. Instead I purchased about $100 in products from Capella, which has a super-friendly, very knowledgeable staff -- and is a local business as well. I totally recommend Capella for your supplements -- and just skip Evergreen. read more

None of the jazz of many of these type stores, so I felt this was a very professional place to get what I needed.A small, well laid out store with a huge assortment of remedies the vitamin way. I came for allergy relief, and the lady was very helpful, giving me only what I needed, and informing me of their club program. Very subtle, very fast, in, out and on my way. Evergreen has pretty much any supplement or herb you could think of. And if they don't carry what you're looking for, they can usually order it. The staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable and if you become a member (costs $10 a year) you get 2% off of everything and 15% off of any Evergreen made product. The only thing that could make Evergreen better would be if they sold some of the super high quality brands like Pure Encapsulations or Thorne. My naturopathic doctor specifically told me to get these brands since their well tested and trusted in the industry but they don't sell them at Evergreen. read more

Like a couple other reviewers, I had a not so stellar experience here. It seems very clique-ish. If you are new to the store, there's no Hello or friendly smile. The emp was idly chatting w/a friend or customer, not about nutrition. She just ignored me so I walked out. Thinking it was perhaps an "off" day for them, I tried a year later. I agree w/the Lexi post that they seem suspicious if you are an outsider. It does seem like a closed little society in there, but will they be sustainable without embracing newbies? In contrast, I discovered the vitamin rows in Cappella where I shop for food & all 3 of the folks are knowledgeable & kind. They are happy & approach me 1st w/a How ya doing today? It opens the door to conversation especially if you are not looking for a specific thing. You can say you feel tired & they pop up options to explore. read more

Evergreen has a large selection of vitamins and supplements, also body care products. Access is easy, they have a nice lot. They always seem to be well staffed. I disagree with other posters who find the prices here to be decent. I think they are outrageous! Example: A flyer touts a recent sale for a name brand fish oil. On sale, the price for 120 caps is just slightly less than what I pay for 240 of the very same caps/brand over the internet. I'm sorry, but I DO like to support local business, and this kind of price differential is simply too much. Staff are very intrusive and you can not count on having any uninterrupted time to browse. I have had as many as 4 different staff come up to me because I was reading labels. Evergreen? I tried to like them, I tried to use them, in the end I paid to much or ended looking elsewhere anyway. Fortunately I discovered that Sundance has a very comprehensive selection of supplements, the prices are decent enough, and there is the added bonus of picking up organic fruit / veggies at the same time. This review is long overdue. Growing up in Eugene, I've been to Evergreen nutrition many times and they have always had what I was looking for. Great selection, and well organized. When I was expecting my first baby, my due date had come and gone. To be exact, I was a week late. My midwife suggested I try a homeopathic remedy. I went to Evergreen Nutrition and was warmly greeted by Kelley. She provided me with exactly what I needed and was so sweet, helpful and informative. She even got out a homeopathic book to see if there was anything else I could try. Three days later, I had my baby boy. I had a very fast and perfect labor. I strongly believe the homeopathic remedy made a difference! This store is locally owned and operated. I love being able to support the community of Eugene. I have started going here for all of my nutritional supplements - the staff is so knowledgeable and helpful, but mostly I appreciate that they are not stuffy or elitist about healthy living. They recognize that everyone is doing their best, and sincerely want to help. They also carry a selection of beautiful and reasonably priced salt lamps, which are normally so spendy to order. The staff are decently knowledgeable about the supplements they sell and are quite friendly. Their products are generally of high quality. The one product I wish they had was Curcumin with black pepper extract- this is necessary or the curcumin is not absorbed. I've mentioned this to a few different staff members but still haven't seen this product introduced. read more
