Very nice staff, clean place, high-tech beds, safety protocols, easy parking, convenient hours, and excellent lotions. One of their beds measures your most tan and least tan area of your body, and then adjusts the 20 minutes in the bed based on the level that you need. The bulbs will go higher or lower as needed throughout your time. It also talks to you along the way and plays music! This salon sometimes offers a great deal for newbies-- $7 for 7 days! I went into this location yesterday and had such an awesome experience. The girls at the front desk where so nice and super helpful right off the bat. I got an immediate tour from amber that was so informative. I own a small business and have been in customer service for 10 years and she really impressed me. The product knowledge was so helpful and the facility was clean and super easy to get around. I ended up with a membership and I'm so excited to start tanning for my wedding. I recently had the pleasure of working with Taylor and Britney at the Hillcrest I-Tan location! Not having been into a tanning salon in many years, I was unaware of all the different services offered. Taylor and Britney took the time to explain each service and walked me through the how's and why's to utilize them. Ultimately they suggested the best service for what I was after and suggested the best products for me to obtain the best overall outcome. I'm obsessed with the services here! There's so much more than just tanning beds, ask for a tour! I signed up for a full spa treatment without the price of a spa! Tan people must be happier because both girls working today were exceptionally helpful and didn't mind my annoying questions. The staff chose the perfect bed for me since I literally have less than 2 weeks to build a gorgeous tan for a wedding! Theres a monthly access membership which I'm definitely easily using a few times a week, plus 3 tans would have cost me the same, save your money, get the membership! I visited iTAN for the first time this weekend for the weekend sale. I initially just wanted to go in and learn some information, but I was immediately welcomed and showed around by the employees. This made me feel more comfortable to get a tan, and I ended up doing a spray tan and got a self tanner to use at home. I don't usually take time to write reviews, except when I have a great experience...I like to spread the word. I went in on Saturday morning and the first thing I noticed was how clean it was. The girl who helped me (sorry, didn't catch her name) was extremely helpful with me. She told me about all they had to offer, and this is the best part, she asked me questions about my skin! I've never been asked that at any other I tan, and I found out it makes a difference in which tan you should get. This time, my spray tan looks so natural! tried out this tanning salon for about six months. ended up canceling for a few reasons. one of them being this chain is really cheap. i've never in my life been to a tanning salon that doesn't even offer you a bottle of water! i was always so thirsty & felt like that was rather unwelcoming. showing you care about customers makes them want to return! its too expensive to not offer more amenities. read more

I've been going to ITan for atleast 5 years but never went to this location, Hannah immediately asked me if I wanted a tour after asking if I had been to this location and I accepted! She was super sweet and showed me all the beds and amenities they had and even convinced me to purchase a spa promo they had for members right now when I told her I wanted to try the red light therapy machine. Hanna is the most wonderful Assistant Manager. I had a complaint that I thought I was calling the Itan Corporate Office and She picked up the phone. I explained my issue and she said she would handle it and get ahold of her District Manager. Literally within 15 minutes I got a call back from Hanna that everything has been handled. I am super thankful to Hanna for going above and beyond and not letting her Manager handle it. She should be in management very soon. I usually love the Hillcrest location and come here even though I live closer to the DT location because the people are nice and they have a few more services than other locations, BUT lately service keeps getting worse. Today was the worst I have ever encountered in any business place. I came in for a Versa Spa tan and asked to go into the Beauty Lounge first if it was available. Taylor said it was and asked me my versa spa settings and gave me a hair net, I asked her if I needed to come back up in between services cause I usually have to for them to run the Versa. She said no, very odd, but I follow directions and don't. First, I had to make a phone call to the front desk because the Beauty Lounge wasn't turned on and I was waiting. Then after, another iTan girl (didn't catch her name), who was next to Taylor at the front when I first checked in, also happened to be in the hall when I switched rooms and didn't say anything. Said girl comes back a few minutes later, knocks on the door, I answer, already naked, and she asks if I checked in for the Versa (she was right there when I did). Asks if I already sprayed, I said no. She says to hold on, that she is going to go up to ask Taylor. Machine gets turned off, 7 minutes go by and she hasn't returned so I get dressed and go to the front and find her sitting there doing nothing. She was never going to come back. Taylor asks if I sprayed, I said no and then she asked for my Versa settings again. How ridiculous to tell someone to wait and not come back and then act dumb when I tell Taylor I haven't sprayed and that I was waiting for her to return. And zero accountability, It's unacceptable . More training needs to be done with the newer people. It's time to head to Mission Valley location from now on. read more

For spray tans the iTan locations have not been worth the trip. I went to Hillcrest because they had Versa Pro. After the tan I saw no difference in color. Staff may be knowledgeable about other tanning options - but not spray tans. read more

I've been a member here for almost a couple years now and this is the third location I've been to and now usually frequent. Their parking is getting a little tricky now with the new restaurant next door, but nothing too crazy. Place is pretty straightforward and consistent. Ive been going to Itan in Hillcrest for many years, everyone is always very nice, but today there was a standout. Michaela was an absolute DELIGHT. She went above and beyond to give suggestions (I ended up buying things I needed but normally wouldn't have bought) because she was so enthusiastic and charming and not in a tacky sales way. I could tell she was legitimately advising me based on experience and my expectations. Even though Ive done the spray tan no ones ever actually shown me the positions to stand in and why, she did and she made it fun. Her positive and happy energy could be felt and really made me smile.
