What an amazing experience!! I was hesitant to start at a new tanning salon. I have had such horrible experiences in the past. Upon walking in, everything was different. 1st - they don't rope you into a year contract. It's month by month and you can cancel anytime as long as you do it before the 25th of the month prior. 2nd - they have so many options. The bed I started at reads your skin and tans you accordingly. I go in there every now and then and it's totally fine. But one staff member couldn't be more of a "mean girl". I felt self-conscious about going into the place at first but the staff were actually pretty cool and down to earth and made me feel welcome. But one woman makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing her and I don't belong there, it's so bad. read more

After checking in, I asked the young lady if there was a bathroom and she said there was not because someone stole their bathroom key and that if I wanted to use the bathroom, I can go to Vons. Staff was wonderful. This was my first time in years. The tan was what I wanted. So happy on that. The container that sprayed me was slippery and the door wouldn't stay shut. I couldn't quite understand what to do when the machine stopped. Instructions on wiping off after were vague. The floor was also slippery. read more

Im disappointed by the results and customer service with this location. I went in for a spray tan and paid for a bronzer additive and noticed when I got out of the booth I had no color on my skin and there was no color on my hair net which usually their is when you get a bronzer. I went to the counter to let them know that I didn't get any color from the bronzer and the girl working told me that the additive just changes the type of undertones and did nothing to try and come to a solution. I've been spray tanning for a long time and consider myself to be a "pro" and know when something is off, I'm as white as I was before the spray. It was frustrating nonetheless that the girl at the front desk just brushed me off knowing that when you add a bronzer there absolutely should be instant color. There is no reason I should be the same color as when I walked in. read more

Tanning here is always a great experience! The manager Caitlyn is literally ALWAYS working in the mornings, which is why tanning here is so unique (compared to other iTans). She is fast, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about everything having to do with being as tan as possible. read more

I can't remember her name, I want to say Tori, 5'5" -5'6" with blonde hair, I think it's dyed with a piercing in the center of her upper lip, but she is the sweetest and I appreciate her attentive attitude when she has a customer. read more

So, so, so frustrated. Good luck if you ever need management to solve an issue, you'll NEVER receive a call back. I came in a week ago to unfreeze my membership that had been on hold for four months. I was concerned because I noticed that no payments had been coming out for the $5/mo each month it was on hold, so I contacted the Point Loma location for help. She said a manager would contact me.... well, I've waited a week and still no call. I just called again and she said she'd put in another note for management to contact me, but said she can't tell me when they'll actually get back to me. Feeling very frustrated right now. All I want to do is get my membership up and running again! I love iTan, but the lack of customer service is making me feel like my business is not needed and I should go elsewhere. read more

It is now 0915 and now we are two people waiting for this business to open. Unfortunately, it is Not the first time this happens. Def will not come to this salon again. I pay $200 a month to wait 60 minutes for a 2 min spray tan. It's like waiting in line foR a Disneyland ride. Ridiculous. UPDATE: the high school girl at the front desk sees me waiting 60 minutes and does not tell me I could simply use the Versa machine instead of the mystic. So a girl walks in gets a versa spray when I have waited. Manager- TRAIN your employees. I understand the people who work here don't have common sense but if you see someone waiting 60 minutes... Girls are friendly but not knowledgable about the mystic tan! I usually go to Mission Valley and LOVE IT but since they open it by my house, i wanted to give it a try few times. First i did the Mystic, i got brown spots all over my body and next time I went, I told them and asked them politely the clean the spray better! And one girl did it, and turned out a lot better. FYI: I do Mystic once a week, for the last 2 years, so i am a pro about it. Next time I went again, it was a different girl, and I asked her to clean the spray better and I mentioned my concern about the stains on my body. She said she would do! I add a triple bronzer every time, too. So, this time, she forgot to shake the bottle to blend it good, and OMG, it turned out TERRIBLE. Now, I look like i have some kind of skin disease. This location is pretty good. It is not as good as the Mission Valley location but the staff are friendly and helpful. They have most the tanning/spray tan machines. The staff members that I have dealt with this far have been knowledgable and eager to help if/when I need assistance. This was the WORST customer appreciation weekend ever! I was so excited to upgrade my plan, buy a new tanning lotion and I also asked the girl Lauren for her recommendation since it's my birthday this Sunday and she gave a f* about it! She didn't even ask anything. She was more concerned about the closing time that giving a proper customer service for what they call customer appreciation weekend. I got there so excited and left very disappointed!!!! I was treated like a garbage. This place really needs to hire girls more professional and prepare for this kind of job, and friendly. I used to love this place! They got me hooked on mystic tans and I came all the time. I haven't been since January but I came again today and wasted money again. The mystic tan machine must be broken. It doesn't work. You walk out as white as you came in. I looked at the hair cap this time and there's very little color on there so I know it's the machine and not my skin. The last time I talked to manager they said it was possibly my skin or that I needed a darker color. Tried all the advice to no avail. It is the machine and I'm sad because I loved coming in for a quick spray tan. read more

I have been a great member most of the year. Recently I changed my bank account info which is my personal choice. I also downgraded from the 89.00 plan to the 69.00 plan. ITAN had a glitch in their system which charged the wrong account. My tax woman said I couldn't use my business account for personal use so I switched it in the first place. ITAN caused my account to go negative and fees added up quickly. I was told that they're not responsible for fees my bank is charging. In my job when I make a mistake with other people's money, I have to make it right. They are not and now I have to stick to my principles and go elsewhere. First time visiting an iTan and I couldn't be happier. The tanning solution didn't come off on my sheets or stain the bathtub during the initial after tan shower. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I have been a member of iTAN for longer than I should probably admit and I have been coming to this location for over a year. The salon is very clean, I rarely have to wait, and the girls are very educated on all the products and services. Is it weird that I actually get excited to go tanning and see my salon ladies?! Hah All the girls are very bubbly, knowledgeable, and extremely hard working!! Special shout out to my girl KENZIEEEEEE though!! She remembers my name every time I come in, remembers to ask how I liked my recent product purchases, and genuinely seems to care about my life. "How was Stagecoach?" "Did you end up going to that event with so and so?" Again, very friendly and personable. I actually joke with her that she works TOO hard! iTan Point Loma is amazing!! The staff there is absolutely amazing and all are very kind and helpful. The tanning beds and the salon are extremely clean. All the beds are easy to use and the staff will answer any and all questions you may have in regards to tanning. Kaitlyn greeted me the first day I walked in and got me all set up! She explained to me the different memberships, the levels of tanning beds and all my questions I had about the lotions behind the counter. There are so many options in terms of tanning beds and it's fabulous! I haven't been in a tanning bed that I didn't like at this location. It's been absolutely wonderful! Kaitlyn has been my guide to getting back to my tanned self. She is very knowledgeable, very kind and such a joy to see when I visit iTan in Point Loma. I have to say that Ashley the area manager handled my last review very well and professional, I got a call from her the next day I posted the review offering her apologies for not getting the special that was running at the time I signed up. She offered me two months of free tanning for the inconvenience, thats what I call making a customer happy and wanting to come back. I switched to this salon about a week ago from the downtown location and was pleasantly surprised by the facilities. It it situated in an older shopping center but do not let that fool you. The inside is well maintained and beds and body wraps are upgraded and in great condition! I was much happier with the quality of the beds at this salon as opposed to downtown. Staff is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating, something you can't find at all iTans! The only reason I take away one star is because there is no bathroom inside the salon. You need to get the key from them and use a shopping center bathroom outside and around the corner. Aside from that, this location is perfect as can be. read more
