Not sure what happened to this place. It used to be absolutely packed for lunch. Barely anyone in there today. The cook was uncooperative to waitresses and questioned whether my gluten free order really had to be gluten free (??). Watched a customer walk out without food because the food was taking too long. Got my order and the French toast had nothing on it, and was tasteless :/ and the farmer Andy's omelet was missing the home fries completely and the ham wasn't even cut up. This thing used to be stuffed and there was barely anything in it today. Definitely not worth the $22 I paid for the meal. My French toast was barely warm, the bacon was so well done it was uneatable! Brought me more bacon when I complained, and that batch was undercooked and very greasy. This will be my last visit. I have always enjoyed breakfast here, good food, great service... but today was the absolute worst!! The waiter was kind and pleasant,, but didn't care that the table next to us as well as us, were complaining about the food. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, the potatoes were like over fried peels.. I'm not sure we had potatoes, the toast barely toasted, the ham was literally Lunchmeat slices. I've been here a few times and each visit has left me wondering how I should rate this place First off, this place is ALWAYS packed- mostly because their food is good... the service, not so much. My first visit my fiance and I ordered breakfast. The food was fantastic. It was fresh, made to order, and not sitting under some heat lamp waiting for someone to order it. The service our first time was great- even though the place was slammed. Our waitress was attentive and made sure she had refills over to us without us even asking! So imagine my surprise on my quasi second visit. I say quasi because I wanted to call in a lunch order that would be available at 1p. I called in at 1130a. The woman who answered the phone said I would have to call back at 12p and wait my turn like everyone else, that they didn't take call ahead orders. First off, what the f?! I mean I don't know what I'm more perplexed by... the rude response or the fact that they don't take call ahead orders?! Needless to say, I didn't order that day simply because I was unable to call in after the time I did because I had to teach a webinar and was unavailable. Fast forward to my third visit... I decided to grab some breakfast on weekend, no biggie. I was seated promptly, given a menu and then was forgotten. Seriously. I waited 20 mins to see my waitress who walked past me like I didn't even exist. I had to ask the hostess to flag the waitress down and just to order. Quite honestly, my confidence in this place has wavered since I've had two bad experiences out of three visits. Outstanding local breakfast/brunch place, open from 6am-3 pm every day but Monday. Patrick McDermott's great restaurant features every day specials, homemade (by his wife) gourmet muffins and cupcakes, as well as cinnamon rolls on the weekend, and regular breakfast and brunch/lunch menu items. People who enjoys drinks with their meals can get Bloody Marys, mimosa, and other drinks. This week's special is a Bay Breeze. Their food is made in house. Today I had the special of open-faced meatloaf (the best I've ever had) sandwich on Texas toast, mashed potatoes and gravy, with a saute of fresh spinach, summer squash, tomato and bell peppers, all for $7.50! Absolutely delicious. Shannon and her staff of outstanding friendly servers make everyone feel at home. There is a counter (my favorite) spot, tables, booths and outside seating area for nice days. In a small town like Bowling Green, Ohio it's always great to have that local go to spot for breakfast. I have been here about a dozen times now and it never disappoints. It is owned by local town people and everyone that works in there is beyond friendly! If you go for early breakfast be sure to get there before 8 or after 9 as sometimes it's a little crowded. My go to meal is the french toast as it reminds me of the meals I had as a little girl. Be sure to get dessert at the end of the meal as they have fresh cupcakes and muffins and they for sure a reason delicious! I was really excited when I came back to BG in the fall and heard that a new brunch place had opened, because if there's one thing I really really wish there was in BG, it's a good place for a mimosa. We came by around 11am on a Sunday, and we had a bit of a wait, around 15 minutes. But, people seemed to arrive in waves, so there were several times during our meal that there wasn't a wait at all. We went up to the bar to get a drink while we waited, because there isn't much of a waiting space and it was chilly outside! I had a mimosa with a shot of vodka in it - I think they called it a screwmosa, which was good! While ordering my drink at the bar I was able to get a look at the baked goods which looked absolutely delicious! I definitely think I want to try those next time, I just forgot to get the lemon donut I wanted at the end of the meal. Once we were seated, I ordered coffee and the eggs + veggie hash + toast and substituted biscuits and a cup of gravy for the toast. The service was a little spotty, as in the server didn't introduce herself or tell us about the special, which I noticed was written on a blackboard behind the bar, but which I couldn't see from our table, and it was a little tough to get her attention throughout the meal if we needed anything (creamer, more water, etc.). I'm not sure how much that was because our table was in a far corner of the restaurant or not, though. While they were busy when we arrived (hence the wait), we also noticed that tables sometimes sat for a while before being cleared. Food-wise, I was happy that it seemed that all of the veggies were fresh, it's kind of tough to find restaurants in BG that don't use canned mushrooms, for example. My eggs were undercooked - I ordered them over medium and the whites were barely all of the way set. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. The coffee was terrible and tasted like it had been sitting on an overhot burner for hours. While I think this is a better option for brunch than many other places in Bowling Green, it definitely isn't the fresh, refreshing face that I was hoping for when I heard about it! But, with a little work on consistency in cooking and service, I think it could be at least four stars. read more

Looking to try something new, I walked to Everyday People Cafe for lunch. Arriving around 11:30am, I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was, but it only took a couple of minutes to be seated. While the waitress never introduced herself, she took my drink order fairly quickly, and gave me some time to look over the menu. Even though a couple of the items on the menu looked really interesting, I found myself intrigued by that day's unnamed special, which was written on the blackboard behind the bar: "salami, peperoni, bologna, and provolone baked crispy, then topped with sautéed peppers and onions, and marinara sauce." When the waitress took my order, I asked for the sandwich special on sourdough bread, and for my side, I selected the coleslaw. Along with my soda and a cupcake, my total bill was just over $11, which felt very reasonable. The décor in the restaurant was a pleasant mix of what I would trendy, modern bar meets homey family restaurant. Overstuffed booths and attractive tables were distributed across the L-shaped dining room, which was itself wrapped around the beautiful, large hardwood bar and its dozen high chairs. Three flatscreen televisions were mounted on the wall behind the bar, while appealing historic and family photos hung on the walls by the tables. Signage on the outside of the restaurant extolled the mimosas, and a steady stream of them were produced for multiple tables of thirsty patrons. After a pretty reasonable period of time, my unnamed waitress delivered the equally nameless special to my table, and I have to say it smelled and looked fantastic (see photo)! The sautéed peppers and onions on the sandwich were absolutely perfectly cooked, and not mushy at all. The tang of the marinara sauce perfectly complimented the caramelized sweetness of the vegetables, while the four meats and toasted provolone worked together to give the sandwich a phenomenal mouth appeal. In short, the sandwich special was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the cup of coleslaw, as it seemed generic and lacking of flavour. After finishing off the fantastic sandwich, the waitress asked if I would like a cupcake for dessert, and I selected that day's special of the coconut cream pie cupcake. While the cupcake looked great (see photo), it was dry to the point of being stale. Were it not for the tasty coconut cream filling and a third refill on my soda, the cupcake was so dry I am not sure I could have eaten it. Speaking of refills, throughout my lunch experience I felt somewhat frustrated by the fact that I always had to wait on a refill, as the waitress never brought them before I ran out. At one point while I was thirstily waiting for my server to see that I had run out of drink again, I started counting how many times she went over and picked up her phone from where it was tucked at the end of the bar. The number was three, before she finally brought me another drink. Just saying. While I absolutely loved the unnamed sandwich special, the restaurant's great atmosphere, and the very reasonable prices, they could not completely make up for my disappointment with the rest of the food or the lackluster wait staff. My husband and I ate here for the first time on Sunday and we both really enjoyed it. I got the eggs and veggie hash, my husband got the eggs and roast beef hash and then we shared a blueberry pancake. My veggies were a little too oily for my Taste, but was still good. My husbands meal Was good, but a was a bit bland. But the blueberry pancake...OMG!!! It was AMAZING!!! One of the best pancakes I have ever had!! I also really like the atmosphere. I do think this little place would be even better of they offered espresso drinks. Either way cannot wait to go back for more pancakes and to try their bloody marys. read more

There seems to be an overall lack of proper COVID protocols and social distancing in this area. This restaurant was no exception. And then i ordered a cupcake thinking it would be marvelous. Well, i was mistaken and disappointed. It was cold, which cupcakes should not be. Disappointed!! Today we went for lunch and the waitress was not good she brought our water and a coffee right away and we were still looking at the menu so she said she'd come back. We sat and sat finally after about 15 I went and asked for our waitress. (They were NOT busy maybe 5 tables total) Then we ordered chicken chunks and potato skins to share, with ranch and blue cheese for dipping The menu said chicken chunks with sauce, yep after 20 more minute we did get chunks but the sauce was in a cup we did get the ranch. But we were told that there was a mistake and they put the blue cheese ON the potato skins so they were remaking them and it would take 3-4 minutes. After another 10 minutes we did get them and they were NOT good. Asked to speak to a Manager who turns out was sitting behind us at the bar. She listen to us and then said "Have a blessed day!" and walked away. Next time we'll just go to the grocery store buy the exact same thing at half the price and cook it at home!! Decided to stop by and have lunch there today. Ordered corned beef hash with three eggs and toast. Extremely disappointed , the Corned Beef hash consisted of huge chewy cubed chunks of corned beef, large dried out chunks of potatoes, sautéed onions and what smelled and tasted like prime rib seasoning . This was anything but corned beef hash and because the of the spicing it was actually offensive to the nose. Will go back and try something different but will never order what they consider to be corned beef hash again. read more

First time visitor, and first visit admirer. I will most certainly be returning for repeat visits, and might even make it my goal to become a regular, haha. Although it seems to be marketed as a upper class mimosa brunch place to gather for an older demographic, they have some really well priced breakfast dishes. The breakfast options are very eggs, meat, and bread oriented, with the essentials you are probably picturing in your mind and taste buds at this moment. There is fresh coffee, juice, and soda, as well as liquor choices for when applicable.The serving sizes are very generous and fill my early bird stomach. There is a lunch menu, but I cannot attest to it as I have not tried it, yet. The food tastes very homestyle and fresh, and I must tip my hat to the five strips of bacon I got. That's right, five, not some measly two or three. On another note, I truly must note that this is arguably the cleanest dining establishment in town. Everything from the table, the seating, the dishes, utensils, and the bathroom are all very clean. I do miss the previous store, Havana Cafe, but I can see myself growing to visit the new affordable breakfast location weekly. All of Everyday People Cafe's food is freshly made. It's all homemade food and their local meat comes from Belleville brothers. I've still yet to find something I didn't like on the menu. They also have a different soup of the day & offer fresh in house baked cupcakes/muffins and cinnamon rolls on the weekends! Another positive aspect of this restaurant is that you can get a cocktail with your meal! The bloody Mary's are loaded with cheese and olives and are excellent. This is the best breakfast in town. I grew up here and I wish this place was here years ago. The food, delicious. The drinks, outstanding. I had the 3 eggs with ham and french toast. I washed it all down with their Blood Mary, which I'm surprised to say is absolutely winderful. The eggs were perfectly done and the ham was superb. The French toast, wow. If the wait list is any indication of a review then this place is great. We've eaten there once out of 3 attempts. I loved the options of getting Bloody Marys and Mimosas at a local brunch restaurant. The food was good. It was fun the one time we sat at the counter to eat, though we felt rushed to leave due to others waiting for a seat. Summertime I expect is easier to get seated when the patio is open. My spouse and I went a few weeks after they opened over the summer; once for breakfast and once for lunch. On our breakfast trip, we ordered the "special" cinnamon roll (ginger citrus?) and it was dried up and desiccated, we immediately asked for it to be taken off the bill. We each had eggs which were all undercooked. I am not sure why this place has 3 TVs going on at all times in addition to music playing, but that's dining culture in Ohio I guess. We agreed breakfast was "not a total disaster" but that's the standard for measuring restaurants in Bowling Green. When we returned for lunch a few days later, it was worse. The "roasted turkey" is a processed turkey roll covered in gelatinous goo, the bread is the type you get at the dollar store: squishy and flavorless. Service was worse too. Many of the servers have that "deer trapped in headlights" look and appear completely befuddled when faced with the simplest task like refilling coffee, or grabbing more napkins. Food is bland and low-grade, service is pretty bad, atmosphere is sports bar. Decidedly not good. read more

This is a little cafe that packs a big punch! It's a small powerhouse of gourmet goodness that's reasonably priced. They put a tastier, more modern spin on classic favorites like biscuits and gravy.
