When…read morepicking up my Tesla order at the dealership, the tech mentioned getting ceramic tint, and something called PPF to keep my red paint looking gorgeous. I subsequently came to learn all about the benefits of PPF (short for "Paint Protection Film") from Mr. David Dugan at Ceramic Pro/NXT Wraps. http://www.ceramicpro.com/aftercare. Not only did Mr. Dugan explain his after-market exterior paint and interior vehicle protection services, but he did so thoroughly and patiently. Days after taking delivery of my new Tesla, I turned it over to Mr. Dugan and his team at their shop in White Plains, MD (near Waldorf). I opted for PPF to provide front end paint protection, coupled with a Ceramic Coating on the entire exterior of my Tesla to help maintain its luster. Aside from providing phenomenal shine (in fact SHINIER than when I dropped off my 3-day old brand new car), the peace of mind knowing that my Ultra Red paint would be far less impacted by environmental factors was the decision point for me. I learned that PPF and the ceramic coating combined reduce the risk of rock chips and road debris penetrating or spoiling the paint. Plus, the ceramic window tint protects the interior from the deleterious effects of summer sun. The ceramic tint I selected results in almost 90% heat rejection, which is a huge bonus since Tesla's have soooo much in-cabin sun exposure. In fact, I elected to tint all windows, including the windshield and panoramic roof, where Tesla drivers are most impacted by hot sun and damaging UV rays. Side note... whether you live in DC, MD, or VA, Mr. Dugan is knowledgeable about window tint laws and will give top notch recommendations. The Outcome: In about 3 days, I picked up my VERY shiny, wonderfully protected Tesla and was overjoyed! The pictures speak for themselves... check them out! It was storming on the day I picked up my Tesla and the water beaded and rolled off quite nicely. No streaks or water stains the next morning either! Bottom line... Don't hesitate to work with Mr. Dugan and team for exterior and interior protection options for your car (either brand-new or once-new). I coordinate community outings for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and during our visit the owner welcomed our group with open arms and incredible hospitality. She took the time to share more about the space and its mission, and even treated the clients to cake, chips, water, and tea, which made them feel very special and included. As part of our volunteer activity, the clients painted positive community rocks filled with encouraging messages and artwork. These rocks will be placed throughout the community so others can find them and receive a small moment of positivity and encouragement. It was such a meaningful activity because it allowed our clients to give back while also expressing their creativity. Experiences like this are so important because they promote inclusion and create opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to connect with their community in positive ways. The owner created such a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment that made this experience memorable for everyone involved. We are incredibly grateful to The Green Coterie for opening their doors to us and allowing our clients to be part of something so uplifting. I first requested a quote in late December before I even had a new apartment lined up. Their online tool made it easy to get an initial estimate without an in‑home visit, and Dasha (and sometimes Lilith) answered all my questions over the following weeks. A month later, when I was ready for an in‑person assessment, they honored my original quote even though my inventory had changed (many more smaller boxes, one less big piece of furniture). They visited on a Thursday and scheduled pickup for the next Tuesday. A team of three loaded everything in under two hours (right after Winter Storm Fern). I arrived in Seattle on Saturday, and the driver called 15 minutes after I had picked up my keys from the leasing office (I am not kidding). Despite my building having no loading dock, he found a workable spot, unloaded everything, and rebuilt my furniture solo in about 4.5 hours total. I WILL CONTINUE TO INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT THIS SOLOMON MILBURN Solomon M, owner of MDT Towing, approached me when he saw me &my children at a storage unit where he was dropping off a guy's stuff. Solomon refers to his customer who was moving in that day as the "st!inky African guy." I was worried bc I had never used a moving company before due to concerns and fear about people knowing where I live, scoping out my house, & then the obvious which is property damage, and other horror stories I had heard. All of these things I expressed to him & he assured me my stuff would be tied down and that they been in the business for 12 years. Let me add STUFF IS MISSING & broken. I spoke w/ him on 10/15, the day of my settlement, between 8am and 9am, and inquired whether it was too late to get movers. He said no, we'll be at the storage unit at 2 p.m. Now, I'm big on supporting black owned businesses and Solomon and his team showed me more and more why it was a horrible idea. I will never ever! I asked him if he was sure since if so, we could move the timing if necessary to 4. He claimed the timing was great and that I need to pay $40 for holding fee. I had him on speaker phone, and my realtor, title firm, and daughter were all listening. I have pictures of when the invoice was paid and when I notified him that it was paid. I asked him again about the pricing and whether it will alter due to the last minute, and he answered no. He added, "Better yet, I'll give you a discount of $550, with the $40 included." When he first spoke with me a few weeks ago, he quoted $525 and claimed he would give me a discount. At 2 p.m., myself, my kid, & my closest friend were waiting for the movers to come. I sent him a call/text about their location, and he said they'd be late around 45 minutes after I sat there since 2pm. The truck arrived late, as did Solomon, and the movers (2 guys) did not show up until 4. During our 1st talk, I expressed my concerns about movers & asked Solomon if he did background checks while being concerned about theft. He chuckled. I contacted him after 1 1/2 hours of waiting; at this point, he is waiting w/us for his contracted movers after Solomon also showed up late. I told him I had to leave at 4 p.m. since the guys wasn't there to pick up my son & return the Verizon box to kill time. I was only able to pick up my son, never to deliver box back and the movers arrived minutes later. During that time, Solomon asked me could I run him about 7-10 mins up the street to his truck. Again, this is my time wasted 2 hours yet he needed a ride. I should have charged him for gas. Then he gets in the car asking personal questions after noticing my government laptop and card. He then started asking where I'm from and all other questions he shouldn't have asked. Also, sharing w/myself and my BF about how the African he helped got money, etc. He knew too much personal stuff about his clients that he shouldn't have known. During the transfer of my belongings, they had no tarp, straps, or anything to secure my belongings, as he stated--TV, dressers, nothing. My best friend and I did the majority of their labor running up and down the steps. The guy upstairs was throwing my stuff everywhere. Solomon stayed downstairs on his cellphone. We left the storage unit after 530pm-6pm, and just 10 minutes later pulling out of the storage unit, Solomon called to say they needed to stop for 15 minutes to eat. They ate after arriving two hours late. They stopped at WAWA parked near the side and back of the building. We waited 25-30 mins at my house bc they had the bulk of our things. The 2 guys brought items in, we realized that my big screen TV had been severely damaged. Solomon addressed me as ma'am before stating that they worked for more than four hours and that he will not charge me $735. Now, while he behind sat in the car doing nothing, his the short guy asked me why was he there. I told him who Solomon and he said yes. I told him I was not sure because I figure he go to all sites with them and he said no he doesn't go to all the sites with them. Part2- I will use my SM platform to expose them. After unpacking I found broken class from m entire kitchen set. He takes no accountability. Only 2 showed and he said it would be 3. They also asked personal questions and scoped out my house. The owner still had their cameras up around the home and heard the two way talk amongst them. It was a set up.
