The go find a rest area, park near the side of the building or back of building and go through your stuff and then meet you at your at house with items ruined. I WILL CONTINUE TO INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT THIS SOLOMON MILBURN Solomon M, owner of MDT Towing, approached me when he saw me &my children at a storage unit where he was dropping off a guy's stuff. Solomon refers to his customer who was moving in that day as the "st!inky African guy." I was worried bc I had never used a moving company before due to concerns and fear about people knowing where I live, scoping out my house, & then the obvious which is property damage, and other horror stories I had heard. All of these things I expressed to him & he assured me my stuff would be tied down and that they been in the business for 12 years. Let me add STUFF IS MISSING & broken. I spoke w/ him on 10/15, the day of my settlement, between 8am and 9am, and inquired whether it was too late to get movers. He said no, we'll be at the storage unit at 2 p.m. Now, I'm big on supporting black owned businesses and Solomon and his team showed me more and more why it was a horrible idea. I will never ever! I asked him if he was sure since if so, we could move the timing if necessary to 4. He claimed the timing was great and that I need to pay $40 for holding fee. I had him on speaker phone, and my realtor, title firm, and daughter were all listening. I have pictures of when the invoice was paid and when I notified him that it was paid. I asked him again about the pricing and whether it will alter due to the last minute, and he answered no. He added, "Better yet, I'll give you a discount of $550, with the $40 included." When he first spoke with me a few weeks ago, he quoted $525 and claimed he would give me a discount. At 2 p.m., myself, my kid, & my closest friend were waiting for the movers to come. I sent him a call/text about their location, and he said they'd be late around 45 minutes after I sat there since 2pm. The truck arrived late, as did Solomon, and the movers (2 guys) did not show up until 4. During our 1st talk, I expressed my concerns about movers & asked Solomon if he did background checks while being concerned about theft. He chuckled. I contacted him after 1 1/2 hours of waiting; at this point, he is waiting w/us for his contracted movers after Solomon also showed up late. I told him I had to leave at 4 p.m. since the guys wasn't there to pick up my son & return the Verizon box to kill time. I was only able to pick up my son, never to deliver box back and the movers arrived minutes later. During that time, Solomon asked me could I run him about 7-10 mins up the street to his truck. Again, this is my time wasted 2 hours yet he needed a ride. I should have charged him for gas. Then he gets in the car asking personal questions after noticing my government laptop and card. He then started asking where I'm from and all other questions he shouldn't have asked. Also, sharing w/myself and my BF about how the African he helped got money, etc. He knew too much personal stuff about his clients that he shouldn't have known. During the transfer of my belongings, they had no tarp, straps, or anything to secure my belongings, as he stated--TV, dressers, nothing. My best friend and I did the majority of their labor running up and down the steps. The guy upstairs was throwing my stuff everywhere. Solomon stayed downstairs on his cellphone. We left the storage unit after 530pm-6pm, and just 10 minutes later pulling out of the storage unit, Solomon called to say they needed to stop for 15 minutes to eat. They ate after arriving two hours late. They stopped at WAWA parked near the side and back of the building. We waited 25-30 mins at my house bc they had the bulk of our things. The 2 guys brought items in, we realized that my big screen TV had been severely damaged. Solomon addressed me as ma'am before stating that they worked for more than four hours and that he will not charge me $735. Now, while he behind sat in the car doing nothing, his the short guy asked me why was he there. I told him who Solomon and he said yes. I told him I was not sure because I figure he go to all sites with them and he said no he doesn't go to all the sites with them. Part2- I will use my SM platform to expose them. After unpacking I found broken class from m entire kitchen set. He takes no accountability. Only 2 showed and he said it would be 3. They also asked personal questions and scoped out my house. BEWARE!!!!!! If I could have given this man (SOLOMON) negative stars I would have!!!! I used this company to move my entire home into a storage facility for a little over $1300. And that move was supposed to include 3 men and a truck. Well it didn't. It was only 2 guys which was not what I paid for so let's start there. Every month I paid $250 trusting that my items would be safe and intact. Not only did I find out that my items where about to be auctioned off because of non payment but I am missing items like a TV, shoes, liquor, a corner shelving unit and God knows what else. Oh and to make it worst he moved my items into another storage unit without my consent or acknowledgement with someone else items like lawn motors. I would have never agreed to that! Most of my items like my Peloton bike+,desk and hutch, bar, dinning room table etc. were damaged. Please do yourself a favor and go else where for your moving and storage needs! Even the people at the storage facility know that he is a shady scammer! Just wish someone would have warned me!!!!! read more

Where do I even start after such a horrific experience? One star is honestly too much. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. I was fooled after my initial conversations with the owner. He seemed kind and professional, but that quickly changed. The owner, Solomon Milburn, asked us to move a day early because of the potential for snow...fair enough. The movers he sent were all great guys, but they didn't wrap any of our furniture, leaving several items damaged. I informed Solomon about this while the move was happening, but it wasn't addressed. Everything also did not fit in a 26 foot truck - we only had a King bed, a dresser, a chest, a standard sofa, a dining room table and chairs, and a weight bench. Everything else was boxes. We think the truck just wasn't packed in the best way. So the movers agreed to return the next day to complete packing our things. Solomon told us they'd come in the morning, depending on the snow. We heard nothing. Mind you, schools remained open because it did not actually snow - just a little rain. When we finally reached out to Solomon, he told us that he couldn't send the guys because he was "assessing the weather until noon." It turns out, we learned from the movers (who didn't come until after 1 PM), that their other truck had actually broken down and that's why they couldn't come earlier. So instead of being honest with us, Solomon lied. Initially, we had scheduled a two-stop move (two houses moving to one), but because the second house had much more furniture, much more white furniture, because of the lack of communication, and and his lack of candor about the trucks, we informed Solomon that we would be using a different company to pack the second house, and would just need our first house of items delivered the following day. He told us, unequivocally, that he could deliver our items at 1 PM the next day. Instead, we received a text message around 10 AM the next day from Solomon, saying that he decided to take on another job and wouldn't be able to deliver our items until 5 PM or later, depending on when they finished the other job that he took after they promised delivery of our items at 1:00. Once we expressed our discontent, his attitude was absolutely disgusting. He called me selfish and said that I was only thinking of myself because I wanted our items at the time that they were promised. He then threatened legal action by sending me the name and phone number of "his lawyer." I called that number and spoke to a woman who told me that he had only called seeking legal advice and hadn't actually retained any attorney at his phone. He just sent me that information to try to scare me. Then later I received an email, out of nowhere, saying that we had to pay him, in full, prior to our items being unloaded. His invoice indicated "payment upon unloading," not "payment prior to unloading." On top of that, he sent at least 3 contradictory invoices with different amounts, raising the price each time. The first truck finally showed up, not at 5 PM, but after 6 PM. When it arrived, only one gentleman was on the truck. I asked him about unloading and he told me that our items were locked in the truck until Solomon arrived. When Solomon showed up about 15 - 20 minutes later, I went out to calmly speak to him. I acknowledged that there was some tension and asked that in a sign of good faith, we pay him half, they unload our things, and then we'd pay the balance (a balance that was higher than what we were quoted and told on the phone several times). He refused and said that he would leave. I literally had to stand in front of the truck and call the police to keep him from driving away with our stuff. Needless to say, things got very heated between Solomon and my family, he started throwing out disrespectful comments towards me, and we had to pay his invoice in order to get him to unload our things. The other truck and movers didn't even show up until close to 7 PM. My whole family was extremely drained after the whole ordeal. I moved here two years ago, moved my mom here last year, and have used movers in the past. I've never experienced something like this before. We did some research and learned that Solomon is not licensed, not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and he lost his license once before in 2019. MB Trucking and Moving helped me out when another moving company left me in the lurch. I had scheduled my move over a month in advance using Uhaul Moving Helpers. After several attempts throughout the week to call the vendor I sent an email on Thursday before my move which was Saturday to try to get confirmation of my appointment. The vendor sent me a response to my email on Friday at 5:53pm that said that they would not be able to make it. I was set to pack and relocate to another state the next day. I called MB and spoke with Mr. Solomon at 7pm. Anthony and Wayne showed up Saturday afternoon and did an amazing job!! They are both perfect gentlemen and were extremely skilled in packing, moving and loading. If I was ever in the DMV and needed movers I wouldn't use anyone else but MB. I moved from Waldorf to Arlington this past weekend and used MB moving company from the reviews I saw on Yelp. I am an avid yelper therefore, I trust my fellow yelp friends on who has given them stupendous services in the past. I found MB moving company's reviews to be great so I called them for a quote. I called 2 other companies before calling MB and I was quoted about $700 for moving LOCALLY. For one company, I was even being charged for the 29 miles they have to drive back to Maryland...like that's crazy!!! I called and Solomon answered the phone, he was very friendly and we had an in depth conversation about my things that needed moving so he can give me a quote. He realized that i didn't have much stuff at all and had to look at different ways on how I can make the minimum which was $360 for them. I honestly think this is a great deal because the previous quotes I got from other companies are ridiculous. It's a family-owned business and they are flexible. I originally scheduled for a Saturday but decided to move it on a Wednesday which he accommodated quickly! The payment process was simple and easy. I paid $40 down payment and the balance was paid after I got the moving service. The movers were a bit late because another lady was scheduled before me and her appointment took longer than it should be. Solomon called me to inform me they're going to be late and gave me a time that they will come. They came exactly at the time they said they would which I really appreciated! Dominic and his team of movers were very friendly and helpful! They were also too funny, we even talked about 2 tv shows and had a good laugh about it. We got to my new apartment and everything went great. Nothing was broken and everything was wrapped in plastic and stretch wrap (done by them) and no scratches on my wood floors which was a plus! They also disassemble my IKEA bed and assembled it when we got to my new apartment! Solomon said that they mount tvs for additional $150 so if anyone is interested in that service, they offer it for an additional fee. They can also hang stuff for you if you want that service as well. I'd use them again if I have to move locally. I definitely recommended their service. I used this company to transport a grill I purchased from Lowe's for a graduation event. On the day of the event, the grill I purchased did not fit in my vehicle even after I had assistance from an employee to take it out of the box. After several attempts and no luck, I contacted MB Trucking and Moving and explained my situation and how urgent it was for me to have this grill delivered. Surprisingly, I was told they could transport it that day (on such short notice) and they did. Not only did they deliver it in a timely manner, but they also assembled it. I used MB Trucking & Moving for my local move from Waldorf to Montgomery County and they were simply amazing!! They arrived early and packed up our 4 bedroom home with no problem. They made it look so easy when I know it wasn't. The owner Solomon was incredible and answered all my questions promptly. The movers left my home before the family and arrived in time ready to unload. Not only did they unload in the 90 degree heat but did so quickly and without complaint. We moved to a 4-level townhome and everyone knows there's a good amount of steps. I could not believe how fast they moved our bedrooms up the stairs and reassembled everything perfectly. One star because I couldn't select zero. I initially used MB Movers for a local move less than 10miles away. Was quoted 6 guys, 2 trucks and 6hrs to pack/move 2600sq ft home. Needless to say, 4 guys and 1 truck showed up, without any tools to take furniture down. 6 hour job turned into 12hrs and Solomon, the owner, only showed up after 9hrs to ask the guys what was taking them so long. Needless to say, the movers were superb, but can't say the same for the company or owner, Solomon. One year later, I recommend (with caveats) MB Movers to a friend that was moving less than a mile (around the corner). Solomon quotes 2 days, 6 guys and 3 trucks. 1 day - 6hrs to pack and 1 day - 9hrs to load/move. 4 guys show up with one truck and no tools. After 2hrs of packing, they leave to go to a high dollar job. Day 2, 5 guys with 2 trucks show, without tools again. After 15hrs, half the house isn't packed and only bedroom furniture put back together. Solomon showed up long enough to tell the owner the guys needed to leave because they had another job the next day and asked if they could come back another day to finish!! I really appreciated Solomon's flexibility on scheduling my move. We were scheduled to move Saturday morning but unfortunately the painters were not finished painting. I called Solomon panicked but he very graciously said he had availability for the next morning and we were set. Three 9f the four movers were excellent!! I'm going to try to keep this short, but there are so many great things I can say about our moving experience with MB Moving today. The team did an EXCELLENT job moving everything from our apartment and storage facility to our new home. Solomon was super friendly and personable and gave us an extremely fair quote about a month ago. Our closing date on the new home was repeatedly delayed and Solomon was patient and very accommodating with scheduling. (We closed on the home Friday evening, called Solomon on Saturday and he schedule us for first thing Monday morning). Dominic, Tony, Tyreek (I'm sure I spelled that wrong, sorry), and Wayne were extremely punctual, friendly, courteous, cautious and professional. They arrived at 9:15 for our 9:30 appointment, assessed the items to me moved and got right to work. Even though some of our items weren't packed properly (thanks Mom) it was a challenge that they took on with no problem. All of our belongings were carefully wrapped and cared for including a large number of heavy books, dishes, art work and mirrors. These guys were the best! Very happy with Dominic and his team. The team is friendly, courteous, asks questions (doesn't just assume), and is careful in their operation. They were able to move us in less time than expected and quoted by other companies, which is greatly appreciated, while still being cautious of our belongings. And let me tell you, the team must be some really good Tetris players because they were able to fit all our stuff in the storage unit, side to side, top to bottom. We needed to relocate my parents from Southern MD to Leesburg, VA, with the move in needing to be completed in a particular window and on that day by 4pm. We also needed proper insurance coverage to meet the new building's requirements and Solomon knew what was required and provided this on time. The team was awesome -- supervisor made sure two other staff were really, really careful. They wrapped items in plastic or blankets and ran at both ends to get the move done in time. Movers lost bed brackets - bed could not be set up. Ordered replacement brackets and was advised by owner that I would be reimbursed. Owner never reimbursed after numerous communications. Several movers complained to me about being tired. Although I felt for them, I am paying for a service - it is not my issue that owner took an additional job. If you are not the first job of the day, or don't want to take a chance on company errors not being corrected, hire a different company. read more

The price quoted was for 4 men and approximately 6 hours including travel time. Two guys show up in a Rental Truck. Asked where the other two guys were and they laughed and said never happens. The bill was for 4 men and 8 hours as it took the two that long. When asked he said the two did the work of 4. They each got paid as one though. The actual movers were friendly, conscientious and never stopped jumping from a second floor walk up to a third floor unit 1 1/2 away. They didn't stop along the way or break, scratch it sent anything. I would never use them again since they overcharged and lied. Also the workers were probably contract labor and bot real employees. Not even sure if this company is a legal moving company y. Definitely not licensed to move stuff across state lines which I found out later. After 22 years of experiencing military moves that resulted in several broken items and dealing with unprofessional workers, I must admit that MB Trucking & Moving far exceeded my expectations. To begin, Solomon visited our home a week before the move to perform a survey and during our interaction, I was very impressed with his accuracy regarding our upcoming move. One specific area that I truly appreciated was his level of knowledge regarding packing and moving certain items that I possessed. For instance, he stated that my desk was made specifically for a one-time assembly. Therefore, he asked that we break it down so that his workers would not have to assume responsibility for an item that was not built to be dissembled and reassembled multiple times. Although I had become frustrated about this, it did not take me long before I realized what he was trying to explain to me. Hence, during the disassembly of the desk, multiple pieces ended up broken; therefore, we had to get it hauled away to the junkyard. On another note, regarding my sauna, Solomon stated that it was a special item that they had not seen during a move; therefore, in order for it to be packaged and moved, we should dissemble and assemble it ourselves. Fortunately, since we had put it together, we did not mind breaking it down, especially since it is a high-priced item. Fast forwarding to the day of our move, five workers came to our home and provided the greatest care with our items while maintaining a high level of professionalism as they interacted with my family members and me. For instance, they took their time with wrapping, sorting and moving items out of our home and they seldomly took breaks, which helped us in the long run with staying within the quoted time and cost. Even more shockingly, Solomon came to the home during the pack out and inspected their work as well as walked through the home to ensure that nothing was damaged or incomplete. After we arrived at the new location, which was 30 minutes away, the workers walked through the home to get oriented to the layout and then they worked for an additional 4-5 hours to get us moved in. During this time, I had to direct traffic to get the items into the right place, but at no time did they complain or show any irritation with me or other family members, especially when items had to be relocated. Throughout the entire move, we did our best to keep them hydrated with plenty of water and we even purchased pizza for them in between the locations so that they could restore their energy. Additionally, after the job was completed and as a sincere thank you from us to them, we provided the workers with a small token of our appreciation for their hard work. Overall, both of my homes incurred minimum scratches and scraps from the move and there were no obvious signs of damage to my belongings. Furthermore, as of today, I am 90% unpacked and from the excellent job that I did with packaging my boxed items and them taking their time to wrap my larger items as well as moving all the items, I have yet to find anything broken. BY FAR, this has been the best moving experience that I have had and I hope that other people will consider MD Trucking & Moving when planning their next move. Lucrecia G.
