The staff was very professional during my PRP 1 of 3 sessions. I've noticed my hair growing already and it's been a little over a week.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Mathis he and his staff are excellent and have treated me respectfully since I began seeing him in 2003 for my first knee replacement. I recommend him for knees, shoulders, and hip replacements. I first met Dr Mathis when we both were working at the VA Medical Center in Houston Texas over 30 years ago. He was then the chief of orthopedic surgery. The first time I saw him after he left, we both looked at each other with a sense that we somehow knew each other and we talked about the VA and that was our common connection. Dr Mathis shared with me that he loved taking care of veterans and like most orthopedic surgeons when it comes to knee replacements required morbidly obese patient to lose some weight prior to surgery. He shared a veteran story with me that changed the way he looked at the process. He told me he had a veteran who was a prisoner of war (POW) who had normally weighed over 200 pounds but when he was released from captivity weighed less than 100 pounds. The veteran went on to explain that he was not going to deny himself food after that life-changing experience. Their conversation showed me that he had the capacity to connect with his patience and me being a veteran and I see how it translates and reveals itself in the care that he and his team provide!

CONSUMER BEWARE: If you are researching which hospital to do your procedures, do not use Memorial…read moreHermann (the full system). Use any other hospital or outpatient clinic. Memorial Hermann has a fraudulent estimate department. The people working in the estimate department give you false estimates on your procedures. The patient then makes a decision to move forward with a procedure based on the fraudulent estimate only to be billed twice as much after the procedure is done. And this hospital takes no accountability for the lack of training or transparency from their estimate department. Why have an estimate department if the cost of the procedures are not even close to the estimate but are double the amount? It is bait and switch. This hospital then blames your insurance company and tells the patient to call and "work it out with your insurance company". Passing the buck. All procedures have CPT medical codes. The estimate department simply has to give the insurance company the correct CPT codes for an accurate estimate. This hospital's estimate department chooses to only submit to the insurance company one CPT code instead of all the CPT codes for each procedure to keep the estimate low so they can get your business. This hospital has been doing the same procedures for years and knows which codes to submit to insurance. It is a shady way of doing business. Please use any other hospital chain or outpatient clinic. This hospital will not give you an accurate estimate of the cost of your procedure simply because they want your business and want to make a profit off your procedures. I went in for a simple iron IV due to my anemia. I was given an estimate upfront for $1119. I made my decision to get my IV at this hospital (vs the other clinics and hospitals i was researching at the time) due to this estimate. The estimate department only submitted one CPT code vs the 3 codes that they later billed. It was for a simple iron IV. IVs are given all the time. The cost is known. The accurate CPT codes are known. Yet this hospital's estimate department chose to only submit to insurance one CPT code vs the 3 CPT codes to "earn my business". Yet i am billed twice the amount. This hospital can do the right thing and honor the estimate they gave me Rosanna 602-400-3724

So, over the past two years, I've gained a lot of weight. I went from 140 pounds to 230 pounds…read more After doing some research I decided to get gastric sleeve. My current health provider is United Healthcare. When searching for a doctor in my area, they recommended this one. The staff was very friendly and answered every single question that I had. Prior to getting my surgery I had an EDG which was done at Townsend Memorial in the medical Center near Main St and 610. About three weeks later, I ended up doing a surgery at the Humble location. my first consultation was maybe three months prior with Dr Mehta. but for the time I wanted my surgery done they switched me to Dr. Yu. The process was easy. The doctor was very informative. in the EDG I found out that I had a hiatal hernia and Dr. Yu explained everything to me and how we would fix it. The day of surgery the staff were so nice. They were all telling me about their experiences with patient who've gotten the surgery. we talked about family members that have gotten it and been successful. That was even a staff member that had got gotten the surgery herself. Even leading up to surgery the staff reached out to me for anything that I needed. Their staff dietitian/nutritionist Lin Lin has classes that are very informative. And she responded to all of my email and questions. The clinic event offers an IV drip after surgery to keep patient from becoming dehydrated after the surgery. although that part isn't covered by insurance, it was so worth it. The office and waiting room is absolutely gorgeous. This was a great choice for me, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone.

This is for self-paying patients:…read more Once you sign up as being interested, you will get an email almost every day, asking you to respond to some specific questions about your motivations, etc. It became apparent to me that no one read or replied to my responses. I asked them about that, and they said someone does "scan" them. But it's mainly a marketing tool. You set up a video chat with the doctor, and are asked to pay $100 by credit card immediately before he comes online to briefly speak with you. In rapid succession, you are scheduled for a 1:1 Zoom meeting with a psychologist followed by an online group session with their nutritionist. (both required). In short order, you will have labs drawn. If you admit to having ever taken an antacid, you might be required to have an esophagogastroduodeonoscopy. This is to check for hiatal hernia or other problems which will also be repaired during your weight loss surgery. Possibly a gastric emptying study will be ordered. If your stomach empties slowly, they might upgrade your procedure from a sleeve to a gastric bypass. If all is well, you will set up your surgery date, and pre-pay (in my case) $13,400. Once the surgery is completed and you are home, you buy your post-op pain prescriptions and ointments and have one more Zoom class with the nutritionist after 2 weeks. After that, you will probably never hear from them again, although you are free to contact them through the patient portal. And they do offer free follow ups every 3 months for the first year. (Labs not included) I am very happy with the outcome, I just wanted to let you know exactly the process as it happened to me.

She takes notes in your patient file so she can engage in conversation during the few minutes you have with her. If you don't get to see her, she's staffed her office with a few other doctors. It's like she has them admit headshots with their resume because the entire staff is gorgeous. Decor is nice and personal. There's portraits of children/families all over the office. UPDATING my review 10/5/16…read more I own my own business, so I understand how important reviews are. I wanted to be fair. I cancelled my appointment I set for October. The reason is that after taking Dr. Arem's herb mixture for thyroid (Thyro-life Optima) AND just as important jumping EVERYDAY on my full-size trampoline, I am feeing amazing. No more unusual tired spells. I feel like I have got my health back. My health was a very big worry for me. Mostly I would feel tired. It would come out of the blue and be pretty devastating, I would not be able to do anything but take a nap. After a nap I could get going again, but I never knew when the tiredness would strike. I also couldn't sleep very well and I couldn't lose weight very easily. By the way once I added the trampoline to my daily routine of the herb mixture he recommends for thyroid issues, I began to lose weight finally! It started coming off at about 1-2 pounds per week. I wanted to lose it faster so I got on homeopathic HCG also. That protocol is NOT for everyone, it combines a low calorie diet with an HCG, but since I am a hypnotist by profession I can stay on it. WITH ALL OF THIS I now am giving Dr. Arem 4 stars. I'd give him 5, but I have never even met him and I do not think his staff is very friendly. Having said that, perhaps that has changed by now. I do hope so. This one written about 7-8/2016 I finally got a call from Dr. Arem's office just after writing the review below. I've updated my review to 3 stars, because i love his book and i understand businesses can go through growing pains. I think he is getting popular so fast! I will update again after I see Dr. Arem in August. Because Brittany called me back and because I like that the doctor will do phone sessions, I've upped my star level. If this works for me I'll give Dr. Arem 10 stars and I hope to be able to do that soon. My earlier review: About 7/2016 Hoped his book would help me. I lost 2.5 pounds immediately, then gained it back. I called and emailed the office several times and have NOT been able to speak to a live person. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED and still struggling with weight. I am willing to update my review if I can get some assistance. I realize businesses go through growth problems, but for God's sake would someone from the office who is caring and unrushed (actually, just anyone would be better than no one) call me?

While I am not, in either social or professional settings, a confrontational or disrespectful…read moreperson, as an attorney and former patient/consumer of this office, I would be remiss to not warn the public of my experience with this reception staff, and the breaching concerns their misconduct triggered. Please be advised, and be careful. This office does not accept insurance nor does it (as of March 2017) offer reasonable assistance to customers/patients regarding followup care, questions of any administrative sort, or standard customer service. In five calls over a four month period, (January 2017-April 2017), my minimum contacts were non-frivolous, necessary, clerical in nature, and one call, a follow up appointment request. Moreover, Voicemail calls are not returned. My one appointment $3,000 experience included: HIPPA violation; habitually snarky telephone dialogue; breached performance of patient/doctor agreement by refusing, three times, to provide updated and accurate ICD 10codes for self filing, per their own contractual language/agreement; hung up on; condescending when asked for an office manager (the woman on the phone, when I asked for an office manager, chuckled then replied, "fine, I'm the office manager, we are all the office manager, now how can I help you?") . I vehemently recommend speaking with this office (at least twice) BEFORE making an appointment, and going to the physical location to see/experience the reception demeanor, before paying the substantial cost (no insurance accepted, you can self file, but getting them to provide the currently used codes was irrationally difficult). The staff behavior does not match the level of sophistication of Dr. Arem. Unfortunately, they represent him, and as you will see create obstacles in your medical care, as the gatekeepers of your full experience. If you are feeling unwell, you may not have the strength and shouldn't have to, to handle the grave contractual and practical breaches of this poorly conducted office staff. Please be advised. Caveat Emptor. Good luck to all...
