Their idea of care is not what most people consider adequate. I hired Everything and the Dog to look after my dog and cat. I had used Cupid Pets before, but it was bought out by Everything and the Dog. I was told the sitter had been with the company for years. The first day, she supposedly came between 8 - 9 am but didn't text me to let me know she had been there. She supposedly came again after lunch, but still no proof. She came for the third visit and admitted she was gone by 6:00 pm. When I asked why so early for the last visit, she said "My cat does protest poop outside the litter when I'm gone." I pointed out that my dog was 13 and tomorrow morning was too long for any dog to wait to be taken out again and asked her to go back later. Her response was "Oh geez OK. Well i guess we should add a late evening visit." I was willing to pay for her to go back out of desperation even though I shouldn't have had to pay for her to go back at a more reasonable time for a last visit (between 8 - 9 pm). She said "I had no idea you needed late evening." That should be common sense when taking care of any dog around the clock. They can't wait 14 - 16 hours at a time. She said she does this with all of her clients and the owner of Everything and the Dog had told her the last visit could be at 4:00 pm. Really???? So I guess all that matters is that they are paid their $24 per visit even if all visits fall in an 8 - 10 hour period. What happens the other 14 - 16 hours? A mess and a dog in pain trying to wait is what happens. I called and emailed the owner and have never gotten a response, which I also find very unprofessional. Luckily, I found another sitter to come that very night from another pet sitting service. They were great throughout our absence, very professional and reliable, always sending pictures and what they had done at each visit. They were the same price! I'm not sure my pets would have survived Everything and the Dog's idea of care and I would have been worried sick. I paid them for the day their sitter came, though I also had to pay for a sitter to come that evening. Never again will I hire this company. read more

We hired Everything and the Dog to watch our dog, Butch, for eight days over the holidays. The dogsitter assigned to us was Theresa. She came out for a personal visit about a month before our vacation to meet Butch and have a quick interview. We had a couple communication problems with their office at the very beginning regarding scheduling, but after that it was smooth sailing. While we were away, Theresa emailed us pictures of Butch and gave us a couple notes on how things were going. She also brought in our garbage cans and recycling bins on the day we left. When we got back, we found that she had written detailed notes about each visit, which we were very glad to see. Our dog was in great spirits when we returned and it was apparent that he had been well taken care of. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. read more

Lydia and Everything and the Dog have been taking care of our golden retrievers for over six months and I would never allow anyone else to take care of our Furry babies. We have an older golden and they are so caring and loving and have gone the extra mile when our boy is having some health issues. They are flexible, professional, and thorough. John has been taking care of our goldies and they love him and that means the world to us. When schedules change, when issues arise, they accomodate us and make the entire situation run smoothly. I can call, email and I always come home to a written "report" of how the goldies did while we were not home. I have received calls from our sitter asking how our goldies are doing if one had an issue earlier in the day. The people Lydia hires represent her and her love of animals. This is not a business to Lydia, but a "calling" and I'm so glad we found her and she will always be the person we call to be there when we can't. read more

The people involved in this company are great. After we lost Jenny the Shepherd my dog walkers of 12 years retired or found a full time job so I had to hunt for new walkers. I when through two companies until I found one whose people were reliable and were able to deal with the traffic at my location. They have never missed a day. Now Shady the poodle is 13 years old, and Polly the cat is 18 and needs more care than ever. We've asked Everything and the Dog to take care of Polly when we are out of town to give her meds and socialize with her. She's getting senile now, going into abandonment yeowling (and keeping me up half the night) but after coming back from a three day holiday, we found her better than when we left her. The online service for payment and confirmation of services makes the paperwork part easy and efficient. Michele is our sitter and we appreciate her immensely. Our pets took to her immediately upon the first visit. It's such a relief knowing that our furry ones are well cared for and that our home is being monitored while we are away. I am very disturbed that the business owner of Everything and the dog is dishonest and not trustworthy to perform the services contracted. It is Shameful! I contacted everything and the dog for a job of a walk a day over the three days while I was to be out of town. I have used them in the past and the walker we had Stacy was fabulous. THIS TIME COMPLETELY the opposite. The first day of service I knew the trackers didn't alert me that my dogs had left the yard. (they have GPS tracking on the collars that they wear) I texted the owner who was to do the visits himself to see if he had been at the home. I figured it was a technical error of some sort when he replied he was there at around 1130. The next day the owner text me that the dogs were already outside with my daughter running and he would just cancel the visit. I text back immediately that no they needed the walk. When I set up the service I even noted that the dogs may or may not be in the crate and someone may or may not be home depending on the time of the walk. When he decided not to walk them because he didn't think they needed it and were already outside I began to question the Friday visit. Our home has cameras and motion sensors on all the doors in addition to the gps trackers the dogs wear. I checked the cameras on all doors and was shocked to see the owner arriving our home11:37:03 and then leaving less than 3 1/2 minutes later at 11:40:26 Even more disturbed to find the dogs didn't even get let out to potty none of the doors opened to let them out. I wanted to give them a chance to come clean and respond about the two days so I text and emailed to ask if they actually had a walk Friday. I did not receive a response to either of those communications. I am honestly so shocked that this occurred and more so that my walker the first two days was one of the owners. How could anyone ever trust a company that the owners are not honest and would neglect the care which was contracted to do and then charge for care not given? In defense of the walker that was scheduled the last day she did show up and walked the dogs exactly as I had hoped would be done all three days. I have high energy dogs that require a great deal of exercise. That is why I hired them. I know their needs and tried to make arrangements on the days I would not be able to make that happen myself. I absolutely would not use this company. read more

We have been using Everything and the Dog for many years. Whenever we travel and can't take our dogs we have the pet sitter spend the night at our house. They have always been very accommodating and our dogs love their pet sitter. We had one dog that was fairly large and could not navigate the deck steps into the yard. The pet sitter(Teresa) was very good about assisting him up and down those steps. For the last few months when he was wearing a doggie-diaper, Teresa was great with him. As an added bonus, the plants get watered, the mail gets brought in and it is quite obvious that the house is occupied. Several years ago we had a death in the family and had to text the sitter at the time (not Teresa) before we left in the middle of the night. No problems - everything was taken care of and our fur-babies were well cared for. We have recommended this business to many friends and neighbors. read more

My husband and I have 2 cats. One gets really ticked off when we are not here and goes into "destructive mode." We have used the service multiple times over the course of a year. We have had two different sitters come in and take care of the felines. While there are differences in the way each sitter does the routine, the house is always clean and it looks as if our felines were perfect angels. We know better, so we know the sitters are going above and beyond to curb any damage before we return. You know how finicky cats can be, but ours have been relaxed. It started out well...I contacted Pat and Lydia and was able to meet and hire a dog walker within a few days. Initially she left detailed notes and the pups seemed happy. The notes got shorter, the times became inconsistent and then suddenly the dog walker was out of town for two days. Two weeks later my dog walker quit, no replacement was available and I received no further communication about when I would receive a new dog walker. My poor pups have been left stranded. I would recommend future customers request to meet, and have the contact information for back-up walkers so they don't fall into the predicament I find myself in now. The WORST. I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD! The final straw was when my pet sitter admitted to NOT showing up because she "forgot"!!! I suspected there were no shows on prior days but finally just asked. A note was NEVER left with any kind of detail of how the visit went, even after asking that this be done. When I would text to inquire after the scheduled visit I would get a simple "fine" or "good". That is unacceptable to me. There were a number of times when our sitter wasn't even available and once when the backup wasn't available, so I called Lydia to discuss. She assured me we would find a third backup. After not hearing back from her after waiting for weeks, I called again, left a message and never received any type of response. My one dog, during the time I used this company, starting urinating in the house including once on the bed, and would not want to go outside when the door was opened. We have never had these problems before hiring this company, snd haven't had these problems since firing them! It horrifies me to think of the trauma he must have gone through. I emailed them to discuss the matter only to receive an auto response. When I finally chatted with Pat about the situation, he didn't show ANY signs of genuine concern but did apologize for the "inconvenience". I informed him that this situation is more of an inconvenience. He also told me he would have the keys to my home in the mail the next day. They didn't arrive. After waiting over a week, I emailed them again demanding my keys and a response. I was told my keys went in the mail yesterday. Two days later my keys were hand delivered to my mailbox with postage, but no USPS delivery stamps. These people are IRRESPONSIBLE and they lie. DO NOT TRUST THEM IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS! read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. We hired EATD due to a lack of other options in the area where we lived. We read the reviews and really hoped they were wrong. I understand that some dog walkers are going to be better and more responsible than others. It became clear very quickly that the problem is not only with the walkers, but also the business owners. They were unresponsive, incompetent, and condescending any time I raised concerns (i.e. our walker was a no-show on a regular basis). We ended up hiring a neighbors 10 year old grandson to walk our dog during the day and he was more responsible, reliable, and professional than this company. Situation handled VERY poorly. Most upsetting to learn dog was being stressed for an entire month WITHOUT my knowledge. Dog had NO history of ever biting anyone. Used another local service x 1.5 years and a service in N. Chicago area x 3 years without issues. Rockville area not well staffed (took over 1 month to initiate services - fortunately was not an urgent need - took 2 meet/greet appointments). Completely lost trust in this agency. Be very cautious. Excellent service with dog walkers who care about your dogs. I've used this service now for several years and can say the following: 1) The owners of the business value you and will take the time to address any concerns you have. The one time I had a concern, they spent 15 minutes on the phone discussing it and took immediate action. I have had no issues since that time. 2) The walkers they hire are well-screened, love animals, and are very responsible. They don't just hire whoever is cheapest or some kids who will bail on them if a friend calls to hang out. I have never had an instance where they failed to show. Any time they need to reschedule, they always contact me first to request it. 3) I occasionally telework and have seen Sampson (my dog) get excited when our walker comes and know that he is in good hands. I also very much appreciate that the walker not only tries to follow our rules for our dog, but also takes the time to bring in a package out front on her way in. I've also noticed that FedEx tries to show up when she is here so that she can sign for packages for us (which, alone, is a life-saver when you have a long commute). Overall a great service and worth every penny. It means a lot to me that I can have someone trustworthy and caring spend a little more time with my dog during the day when I'm in the office and I would highly recommend them (and have) to anyone who needs a dog walker during the day. read more

I have used this service for years. Sadly, Christine, my pet sitter is moving away, and she won't be with them after this Xmas! Always been a great service. I have 6 cats, and they all know her - now that she's cared for them so long. I love that the service has extra keys (in case I lock myself out, I can always call to get a key - that's a neat feature of the service.) They take out the trash as needed, follow any written instructions, and know to contact me if necessary. So far, they haven't needed to, but I trust they would handle things right if I wasn't able to be there. So, you can have confidence with this service that your pets will get the care they need (including the formerly feral cats, shy dogs and other pets that don't warm up fast to people.)
