Miguel was fast to respond and to schedule a time to come out. He gave me a window on when he will arrive. He was late but that was ok. When he finally got here, the first thing he said was that our opener was old and that any parts he needed wouldn't be available. He climbed up and said the opener was made in 1995 and the only thing he can do is replace it. I wanted to know what was wrong with the opener because the only time it doesn't work is in the mornings. He gave me a quote and left. In terms of garage opener replacements, he's the most reasonable. That's why I'm giving him 3 stars but there's more. I thought about just having him replace it. But the fact that the opener only does not work in the mornings bothered me. So I did what I do best and did a Google search. Found that out it could be the sensor and the way the sun is hitting it in the mornings. My husband realized that we had recently moved an old mirror next to the sensor and that can be tripping the sensor in the morning to think something is in the way. We moved the mirror and made sure the sensor was blinking and voila, the door works again. I'm sure Miguel is good and maybe because it was late when he came over over to check that he just chalked it up to an old opener. Either way, I'm glad I went with my gut and didn't get a new opener yet. This is my 2nd time using Miguel to fix my garage door opener. This time he came a bit late but with a good excuse, his truck was bumped off the road by someone and need towing service. He showed me the vehicle new damage. A couple weeks ago, Miguel fixed my garage door opener with gear problem but the same problem happened again and that's why I pinged him since it's still under warranty. After a brief check, Miguel said the gear he replaced last time didn't match the old one and slipped. He offered to give me credit back for first time's fix cost and install a new one for me. I'm an engineer and his explanation made sense. In addition, my opener is hitting 20 years bday. So, I accepted the deal. I watched Miguel installed the opener and he is obviously very familiar with each step, and only took ~60min to finish the job. Overall, he only charged me ~$500 for a much quieter new opener with phone App and motion light sensor. My wife and I are really enjoy the opener features.
