Almost missed the place, hidden around the corner, coming from west to east. Had the brisket and sausage/hot dog. Never had a sausage with that tough a skin and not too favorable. This place is legit and the prices are great. All of the bbq items and the sides were delicious, especially the corn. To top it off, you can get everything gluten free, including desert. We had the key lime pie and it was one of the best I've ever had. You know it's the real deal when you can see the green from the key limes in the pie. I stopped by on a Saturday evening, and they had run out of a couple of things (sides). I had two meats - sliced brisket and turkey breast. The brisket was excellent, probably the best in the area that I have found lately. It reminds me of the better places I've been to across Texas, but without the full outdoor pit. The turkey was very good as well, perhaps just slightly less juicy than I prefer. Service is simple, you order the food and pick it up then sit down. I highly recommend Evie Mae's, as it has been the closest thing I have found to authentic Texas smoked brisket to date in either Okaloosa or Walton Counties. Don't wait too late though, like other traditional smoke house operations they run out of some things earlier than others and do not have a set closing time - they close when they are out of too many things. read more

First time here and it was awesome. Ive had some good BBQ over the years. Hays County and Blacks BBQ in Texas and also Lewis and Rodney Scott's BBQ in South Carolina. Evie Mae's is a needed addition to this area. Yes it is a little pricey but everything around here is somewhat pricey but at least this food is worth the price.
