Definitely a hidden gem. Has a casual, hole in the wall vibe but the food was good and plenty of places to sit.

1st of all, not sure who or why I thought I was in my 20's again...cucumber martinis got me good! A little too good because of the wall hugging I was doing once I got home and settled (uber, because you know...responsibility) Anyway, the martinis were tasty. About 3 in it was time to order the worst thing ever...fries! But omg their fries were yuuuum, or maybe I was just too many in ‍ The bartender and our waitress were friendly and attentive. I visited this bar on Easter Sunday. There were lots of regulars. Crowd was a bit older. I Only had a few drinks & They were pretty delicious. I had a mangonada margarita & an angry chihuahua. Both were very strong and flavorful this was my first time here and I live so close by, I wish I had gone sooner. Bartenders were nice and I asked for a recommendation for my 2nd drink (angry chihuahua) and I was pleased. Come here for a good drink and friendly people. The Dj does a good job at touching every genre of music. He pretty good with the crowd. He's my favorite part on a Friday night. On the other hand service sucks really bad. You wait forever just to get the bartenders to notice you. I waited forever and wasn't done my order before she hoped to another person. The food took forever to come out and to be honest 14$ on a fish and shrimp platter is reasonable. But when the cut the fish and don't even give you a whole filet is wrong. Came here for a meet and greet with Chef Mary Lou from Hell's kitchen! This place is a cute little hangout. It has some high top tables inside, and picnic tables outside with plenty of shade. Came in around 8pm on a Saturday. It was fairly quiet and low key. Walk to the bar to place your order and have a seat anywhere you wish. It's a relaxing place and great if you want to go somewhere to talk. Saw four or so other couples/groups. Looks like a local, quiet sports bar atmosphere. They might have live music or other events, because I was told I came during a quiet time. However, I am writing the review based off my experience. My wife and I had heard great things about this pub...great food and drink.....so, we decided to check this place out one Thursday night for drinks and dinner.... This used to be our neighborhood hang out spot, whether it was a boring Tuesday or an exciting Friday you could always find us at the bar pre quarantine ordering enough drinks to rack up a sizable hangover & usually a quick call to Uber for under $60 for 2... also tricked out tots.. IYKYK Post quarantine- awful service, not nearly enough scheduled staff to serve the large audience & forget social distancing because the regulars all pile up on one side of the bar while the other (where we used to sit) is closed off & if you aren't at the bar, you aren't being seen therefore not being waited on. I gave them 3 shots since reopening because after all, this is my favorite spot in town & each time we were forgotten. You get can get one drink in after about 20mins & you have to hunt them down for anything after that even just to get your check. I'm honestly heartbroken I won't be returning.. not for awhile anyway until they're fully operating. read more

Sure it's sometimes slow service. They know this already. They're working on it. Give them a chance. I can't say enough about the food. It's outstanding. Almost mesmerizing really for a small place like this. I'm in awe of they're work here. Please trust and habit this place. They could truly use your patronage. I am most definitely a regular but clearly not as much as I want to. It's COVID ya know but it will be over with one day. We came because they have karaoke on Wednesday nights and they have trivia on the TVs. The karaoke sound system was good, and the person running the system was great. Wow! This place rules! Great bar staff! Friendly, attentive, and fast! They have loads of TVs to catch the game on, and a rockin' music selection. The crowd is a fun group. For the smokers, they have a large patio with ample seating, and these giant fans out there to keep things cool! The drink specials are really great- they had Rolling Rock for really cheap- I can dig it! They have this great drink that you have to try if you like Michaladas- it's called a Rim Job- a Victoria beer in a glass with the rim salted with chili powder salt. It sounds weird, but delicious! The food was great. Texas BBQ- the BBQ Nachos were absolutely heavenly. Sweet BBQ on a Nacho?! Why didn't I think of that!? I got the BBQ Brisket sandwich, the brisket was juicy, moist, and flavored perfectly. The fries were great. The bar was clean, and smelled nice (like BBQ!) Haha! I am happy to inform you that The Evil Olive is now stocked with beer that will satisfy all sorts of palates. The have four on draft (including Shiner Bock and Fat Tire), one which will likely change often. In terms of bottles, they have beer ranging from Imperial and Shiner 101 to Lucky You IPA and Samuel Adams. Phil's Texas Diner, found within the bar, is still putting out great food for its customers until 2am. We are talking hand-cut fries and tortilla chips fried to order! The Evil Olive has daily drink specials and on Sundays is happy hour all day. Bands will also be performing on a regular basis. Ach. Evil Olive, where to begin? Okay, I'll just recount the good, the bad, and the ugly as I come to it. The name - Evil Olive Elixir Lounge. A bloomin' stroke of genius! Ditto with the logo - sooo cute. Smoking is not allowed inside - though it is permitted at the outside tables. Service is great: friendly and efficient. The bar area itself is gorgeous, as is the ladies' room - with its nice fixtures and granite countertop. Unfortunately, though, the remainder of the space is....well, lackluster. The chairs and tables aren't comfortable or welcoming, and the uninterrupted expanses of olive-green wall don't spell "hospitality" to me. It's as if either money or time - or both - ran short before the opening, and the decision was made to go forward, anyway. The food, for me, is also a mixed bag. Phil's Texas Diner serves excellent, smoky, barbecue sauce - the best I've had in many years; brisket is all right, too. Creamed corn is not, in my opinion, good at all: a dollop of corn kernels plunked into canned, evaporated milk (yes, I DO use shelf-stable milk, so I know it when I taste it!). And prices are a little steep, too: $7.50 for brisket nachos; $8.00 for brisket sandwich; and $3.00 for a glob of aforementioned "creamed corn". So what I see is a terrific start, with great potential. I hope that when I return, some months hence, that EO will have evolved past the "newly opened" stage, and that Phil's will have perfected that menu. read more
