I initially wondered why everyone gives 5 stars for this place. Is there a discount for doing so? No discount turns out. But this place is pretty much as good a motorcycle repair shop can be. Robert and his crew are truly passionate about bikes and very easy to talk to. Price is market price, the service is top notch. I scheduled in for a oil change and they found out there is a small seal leak from the head. They scheduled me in for a different day and all repairs done. WoW! Rob and Jane are as good as it gets! PERIOD! I recently had my forks done at another shop (which i will not name unless you ask me) and immediately knew it did not feel right, so i contacted the owner via e-mail as the shop was closed and expressed what I was feeling and asked what to do. The owner/service manager instructed me thru e-mail on how to set it up. I'm thinking thats not right, but gave it a try and it still felt like crap. So I googled it and found Evolution then read the reviews here and gave them a call. Jane is Fantastic to work with, Rob is just as fantastic and the confidence started bilding immediately. So I took the bike in for an evaluation and right off Rob started shakin his head, he set me up as good as he could and recommended he go in and check the shim stacks for this and that. But! he said, give it a try and see if you like it. I did! and I didn't like it, it just did not feel like it should have felt from all the hype of doing springs and valves. So I made an appointment and Rob went in, I won't go into detail about what he found, this review is about him and what he did for me,. He sorted it out, on time and priced as quoted and gave me back a completely differant feel, I finally got what I paid for. Rob know his sh_t! Jane handles you like you're the next up to be king and the overall feel of my experiance was awesome despite the troublesome journey i must take now with the other shop. My bike now acts and feels like it has some skillfully performed tuning of the suspension. Thanks Rob! Thanks Jane! They had the bike ready in a couple of days (didn't have an appt.) and Rob even moved my plate before I got there and adjusted the height a little more while I waited. He explained all of my options, and answered all of my questions. His wife, Jane is also very nice. He definitely knows his stuff without the know-it-all attitude many others have. I recently went in to have heated grips put on my bike. Called a couple times to make sure on appointment. what a nightmare. I bought honda parts and even the adaptor kit they recommended. I had inspected the parts when I received them and everything was strong. the guy that put them on had no idea how to install and should not have put them on himself. But he did.. So when he handed over my bike and announced he had finished. the button to turn on the power flipped up, which should have been secure. It took me by surprise because it was solid secure when I gave it to him. He simply pushed it down, and said here you go. I think it startled me so I did not inspect the whole job at that moment. Well on the way home the on button and cover flew off my bike. which exposed all the electronics that controls the power and heat. then when I got home I noticed that the wire to hook up the throttle ran on top of my handle bars. are you kidding me...like it was done by some home repair. the wires were not tucked away. I called evolution when I got home and told them everything that happened. I called the next day only to be informed they would not get a new replacement part on the brake side grip that had the cover fly off. they said however they would tuck the wire across my handle bars away. Honesty of all the motorcycle shops I have gone this is the worst work I have received. The guy at the office knew the person installing had really messed up. But he never offered a refund or compensation for the part the guy broke. I ended up taking it to Moto Cafe where I should have taken it in the first place. Awesome.. they installed the broken grip and thoroughly went over the rest of installation. No more wire over handle bars. they did discover that the bar inside handle bars on throttle side that stabilizes handle bar, the screw was put in eschew and now makes it impossible to correctly put the ball end in securely. I am ordering a new one to replace the messed up bar. All in all by using Evolution initially, has cost me so much because of all the things that were broken during install. I would never go back there again to Evolution because they don't own up to their own bad work and make it right. but I would recommend Moto Cafe for any service you need done. they are Great!! read more

I took my Ninja ZX6R to this place to have the valves adjusted, and a moderate tune up too. I explained to them that I've had a lot of problems with various repair shops, including the dealership I bought the bike new from, doing a lousy job servicing the bike. Turns out, this place took the top spot for the lousiest, costliest, most inadequate job servicing my bike. Where do I begin? First, the bike took 3-4 days longer to repair than I was promised. Then, I finally am able to pick up my bike (again, after taking almost 3-4 days longer than promised). The service cost me over $1123.00 (about $250.00 more than originally quoted). I parked it in my garage after getting home. Come out the next morning to go to work, and I noticed about 1/2 quart of oil pooling under my bike. I also noticed a significant amount all over the side of the fairing. I take the bike back to the shop to complain. I left my bike with them again, so the problem can be fixed. Come to find out, they ordered a wrong head gasket for the bike. Then I am told that the gasket will take another 3-4 days to get via UPS (never mind ordering the damn thing overnight to make it up to the customer or anything like that!). When I went back to get the bike, the woman running the place informs me there's an additional $135.00 due for parts. I said, for my trouble, the mess all over the inside of the fairing, etc. THEY should pay for the parts. She agreed and I left. At home, I took a closer look at things. They used some sort of aerosol cleaner and it splashed all over the inside of my windshield, essentially melting the tinting film and left big clear holes where the spray hit it. Fast forward to about a year later, and after having the bike serviced again, I learn that whoever worked on my bike at Evolution, overtightened and stripped one of the cam tower bolts. In addition, there was additional damage done to some of the plastic pieces of the air filter box. My advice...AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE F'N PLAGUE!!! Poor customer service, poor follow up and poor workmanship! I'd love to give this place zero stars if possible!! read more

I have a 2001 Triumph Speed Triple and initially went to what I thought would have been the authority on Triumphs on the Peninsula/South Bay... and the experience went a little like this: Asked the service guy if he could offer a quick diagnosis on a problem i had with a tube that was leaking gas intermittently. The first guy swore the tube i showed him was supposed to be hooked up to something.. i said i dont think so... its a overflow tube.... and he said again... no.. its supposed to be hooked up to something.... finally someone else chimed in and said that it WAS a overflow tube and WASNT supposed to be hooked up to anything..... and then ANOTHER guy said it wasit was malfunctioning because it WAS supposed to be hooked up to something called a charcoal canister..... anyways... 3 people SWORE that it was something.... and NONE of them actually listened to what i told them the problem really was and all the symptoms i was having AND theyre booked out too far (19 days) so in my opinion... understaffed.. they should have someone there to take a look at stuff like that i think.... Anyways, leaving there completely disappointed and a bit discouraged, my wife found a few places on Yelp and even though we live in Fremont, and have a host of shops in the area... she says that she absolutely LOVED the customer service and knowledge of the lady that answered the phone at Evolution (Jane is Awesome!!). We took her and my bike in and received a very reasonable estimate, frequent updates on the work and FAST turnaround time! The work on troubleshooting my gas leak was fixed while I waited and I was seen immediately (Rob ROCKS!!!!). I really wish I could give a rating of more that 5 stars... everyone there.. INCLUDING Mallory (the pit). Everything about the experience with Evolution was a very positive experience and I will tell as many people as I can about this place!! read more

I've been bringing my loose wheels to Rob to fit tires on them. Some time back at 15k miles I had them do the big service (valves, plugs, fluids etc. on my ZX-10R. While they had it they noticed the fork seals leaking. I was already planning to pull the forks myself and bring them to them. They offered to do it while they had the bike so I let them. Anyway, fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, 26k miles, and the seals are leaking again. No biggie but I was wondering why again. So Rob explained that model sometimes has binding issues with the front end. So I had them replace the seals and I put the forks back on my bike. He told me to bring the bike in and he would look at it. I bring it in and it took him 20 minutes to fix the problem and I'm on my way. Before I leave I think, "Hang on I haven't paid." So he said it was on him because I had mentioned a scratch on the forks from the service before. I wasn't expecting anything like this but just wanted them to be careful this time. I realize people make mistakes but it was nice that he took care of me in this way. Big thumbs up Evolution Motorcycles!! read more

I am a new biker, my bike would not start and I called AAA. It was not a week since I added motorcycle coverage, so AAA said they cannot help me. I called Evolution suspension and asked Robert if he could help me out. He promptly sent someone to get the motorcycle and within an hour my bike was at the shop. Robert checked my bike and told me everything was great and it was just old fuel. I loved his honesty. I requested them to do a tuneup, and now the bike rides smooth like new. Robert and Jane are one of the very few friendly folks I met. They will not tell you to change something thats not needed. Although I insisted changing the battery Robert told me its a good battery and does not need replacement. and oh they have a nice dog that is also very friendly. I highly recommend this place and am glad I found it, thanks to yelp. The place is easy to miss, since it does not have a huge sign in the front. read more

Brought my Triumph in for a 12k checkup. This is one of only places outside of dealer that will do the major services on Triumphs. They did the checkup for a much more reasonable cost than what the dealer was asking, and did it within half a day. I was planning on doing some of the easier services myself to save costs and the owner even gave me tips on how to do them without screwing up my bike! I was looking all over for a shop to bring my Suzuki Maurader to, and most of the ones I checked out online were getting pretty poor ratings. I happened across the Yelp reviews for Evolution Suspension and was impressed with the number of great reviews, so I decided to try them out. I have to say they did great work, were extremely knowledgable and friendly, and quoted me a really fair price for the work needed. They also let me know I needed 2 new tires but didn't try to push them on me, but instead let me think about it and decide. I also want to add that this is the first shop I've been to in ages where I got an update call a couple of hours after dropping my vehicle (car or bike) off, instead of the usual call in the last half hour before the shop closes. This is so far the best motorcycle repair shop I have ever been. Great communication, great service. No push for changing parts. My gear shifter was a little bent so I thought it needed to be replaced. They called me saying that the OEM part would cost $72, but also said that they could bend it back and voila looks like new. Brought my old 85 Honda 650SC in to see if they could fix an issue with the hydraulic clutch. First of all, I'm happy to fid someone to work on my 30yr old bike.
