Honestly the best I've had! I sadly had to put my baby to rest unexpectedly last Sunday morning…read more First brought him in Saturday morning, they where so helpful and caring didn't push me into anything, helped me decide what would be best going forward, wasn't what I wanted but what was best for him. I was able to take him home with meds to hopefully help some and was told he may not make it and to bring him in anytime if needed. I had to take him in Sunday early morning as you can tell he was just declining and I could not watch him suffer anymore. I was already so nervous and hesitant as he has his main vet I take him to but honestly both times I went in, they were so caring, thoughtful and most of all there for me in the hardest time of my life. Gave me a hug and you can see the tears in one of the staffs eyes. I wish I remember all their names cause they honestly made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I never want to go through an emergency again as I have two cats still but if I did, I will 100% be going here. Thank you all so much for everything, you are amazing and mostly thank you for caring for my baby Zeus!

I made an appointment for euthanasia for my dog with my usual vet. Unfortunately, my dog's health…read morequickly declined one night. He was stumbling a lot more than usual and having trouble breathing. I called this emergency vet and let them know our situation and that we were on our way. There were a lot of people in the waiting room when we arrived. I was afraid we would have to wait while my little guy was struggling to breath and possibly in pain. However, they quickly led us into a room and took my dog into the back right away. They gave him something to help with pain and ease his breathing. They wrapped him in a soft blanket and gave him back to us. They told us we can have all the time we needed with him and to let them know when we are ready for the veterinarian to come in. When we were ready, the vet came pretty quickly. Again, I was surprised as they were obviously very busy. She explained everything she was going to do. We held our little guy in our arms as she administered the medication. She let us hold him and patiently listened to us talk about him. When we felt we had said our goodbyes, she took him from us and gave her condolences. It was an emotional night but this entire staff was friendly and compassionate. Thank you so much for helping us through a difficult time.

My dog was experiencing progressing seizures this week. I called my regular vet on Tuesday, and…read morewas told since the seizures were initially not frequent, I had to wait a week for an appointment. They also said to bring Curly to Peak if they the seizures got worse. On Friday, Curly started having frequent seizures. I called my vet to see if they had an opening - no. I called Peak and was told to bring him right in. Curly was taken back immediately, as he was having a seizure as I brought him in. Dr. Pruyn explained all the possible causes of his seizures in ways I could understand. After several tests, Dr. Pruyn and I decided the most humane course was to put Curly to sleep. Dr. Pruyn, Montana, and all of the staff were all incredibly compassionate, giving hugs, and totally understanding of my tears and sobs. They asked about cremation, and didn't press me when I said I wanted to arrange it myself. I got to take Curly home and say some private goodbyes. Between the sense of urgency they showed in prioritizing Curly's emergency ( despite other patients waiting), their compassion, and their gentle guidance in making my decision, I can say Peak is the best veterinary experience I've ever had, in Reno or elsewhere.

It was Saturday, Memorial Day weekend, and our dear pooch was suddenly not doing well again and our vet's office is closed for the long weekend. After searching online for veterinarian services on weekends, I made multiple empty calls, I randomly found Peak Pet Urgent Care. They ask the usual questions regarding our pooch's condition, took our name and call back number and informed us they would call us when it was getting close to our place on the list. The call finally came and we made a beeline to Peak Pet's Urgent Care Clinic. Two employees came out to our vehicle to carry our pooch in. After all the necessary screening by one of the technician's permission was granted to treat our pet. Our Emma, was not going to get better and we made the difficult but necessary choice. Dr Haitz, DVM was the veterinarian that had examined Emma, consulted with us and explained each step of the procedure as she humanely administered the required procedures to Emma. I want to thank Dr Haitz for her compassionate professionalism during a difficult time for us. All employees at the Peak Pet Urgent Care were extremely warm, helpful, and made our situation less stressful. Thanks to all of you for your excellence in service and helping us during this crucial episode. Within 5 days we received Emma's ashes. We also received a card with a great surprise (see photo). Had I known Peak Pet Urgent Care existed, I would have brought Emma here for primary care. The staff is awesome: personally and highly professional. The facility is extremely clean, plenty of parking, prime location. Pricing for services are very competitive.

Overall my…read moreexperience was amazing: the doctors, techs and staff were always very kind, helpful and patient and handled my dog with immense care. There were times it was hard to get a hold of the desk to make an appointment or ask a question, but I started to have better luck with emailing in vs calling...almost always a prompt response. Wait times during appointments could also get long, but it's understandable with a smaller hospital like theirs. I knew they always had my baby's best interest at heart and provided the best care for him they could, which makes up for any delays we experienced. They gave me a lovely card and nose and paw prints after we had to say goodbye to my little boy. I will always remember their kindness during that time and recommend bringing your babies here, too.

WE NOW HAVE A DEAD DOG WHICH MOST LIKELY COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED:…read more We took our Newfoundland dog in to get dental surgery on Thursday, June 18th. They said he did fine coming out of the anesthesia. My husband got home and the dog was panting. We chalked it up to the dog may have had some anesthesia in his system. He was this way all night. We took him back on Friday and he was in the same condition with a temperature of 106. Our Newfie was there for a few hours and then sent home on Friday. On Saturday we had to rush him to the emergency vet and he had to be put down because he was much worse. THE DOG NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED TO US WITH HOW BAD HIS BREATHING WAS. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO AN OVERNIGHT VET HOSPITAL ON THURSDAY! When he was taken in, based on the notes, he was given oxygen and was breathing more normally. This did not last. After consulting others, we are being told that something definitely went wrong with the anesthesia. We should have been told that our dog needed to be admitted overnight to an emergency vet for over night monitoring instead of being released to us. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, OUR DOG MIGHT STILL BE WITH US!

I recently took my dog to Mountain View Animal Hospital and had a mixed experience. The facility is…read moretucked away and it is beautiful, with lush landscaping and a peaceful outdoor setting. The calming environment helps reduce the stress of vet visits, and the breathtaking mountain views add to the serene atmosphere. Parking is easy and convenient. The first-time appointment costs $160 total, which felt a bit steep for the Reno area. It requires a $50 deposit to book the appointment, with the remaining $110 due on the day of the visit. New clients should also expect to wait a couple of months for a first-time appointment, depending on the veterinarian. The staff and nurses are incredibly sweet, welcoming, and professional. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Brown she seemed knowledgeable and caring, and she took plenty of time to address my concerns and answer my questions. During our first appointment, I was hoping for a more holistic approach to my dog's care, similar to the philosophy of Dr. Karen Becker (author of The Forever Dog). I was looking for guidance based on peer-reviewed studies around raw diets, nutrition, natural lifestyle choices, and all-natural prevention for longevity. Instead, after some initial discussion, the conversation quickly shifted to the standard recommendations for vaccines and flea/tick medications. I was a bit disappointed by that. After the appointment, I was referred to a local nutritionist and recommended for a dental cleaning. However, the estimate for dental cleaning, bloodwork, titer tests, and vaccines came to nearly $4,093.85, which shocked me. Because of the high cost, I decided to seek more budget-friendly and pragmatic options at another local veterinarian for vaccines and dental work, and I'll likely continue there to keep expenses manageable. The communication process also felt confusing and unnecessarily complicated at first. Everything is handled through text messages that link to the patient portal on their website. While the team usually responds the same day or within 24 hours for non-urgent messages, the back-and-forth and need to navigate the portal made simple tasks like scheduling the dental cleaning and receiving the diet recommendation -- feel frustrating. As someone who prefers more traditional, direct communication (such as a quick phone call), this system was challenging for me. Overall, it's a solid practice with great people and a lovely facility. It's luxury with a premium price for pet care. I especially appreciated the thoughtful welcome card they mailed to me with everyone's signature -- that was a nice personal touch. They could improve by streamlining their communication, offering more competitive pricing, and reducing wait times for new patients. I'd consider returning in the future with some hesitation, particularly if they can provide more reasonable rates and a stronger focus on holistic care in line with Dr. Karen Becker's philosophy in The Forever Dog. With an unlimited budget, I would happily go back.
