On July 21, we had to bring our beloved Golden Retriever, Cooper, to Peak Pet Urgent Care. From the moment we arrived, the staff rushed out to help my husband bring Cooper inside on a gurney. Their compassion and kindness were evident immediately. We were faced with the heartbreaking decision to let our sweet boy go peacefully. Dr. Haitz and Montana were truly incredible. They treated Cooper with such dignity, gentleness, and love, and they showed our family so much compassion during the hardest moment we've ever experienced. Our hearts are broken, but we are so grateful for the care Cooper received. We even sent cookies to the staff because we know Cooper would have been grateful to every one of them for the kindness they showed him. We recommend Peak Pet Urgent Care with all my heart. After 2 visits to our veterinarian's site, our 16+ year family canine showed promises of doing well. It was Saturday, Memorial Day weekend, and our dear pooch was suddenly not doing well again and our vet's office is closed for the long weekend. After searching online for veterinarian services on weekends, I made multiple empty calls, I randomly found Peak Pet Urgent Care. They ask the usual questions regarding our pooch's condition, took our name and call back number and informed us they would call us when it was getting close to our place on the list. The call finally came and we made a beeline to Peak Pet's Urgent Care Clinic. Two employees came out to our vehicle to carry our pooch in. After all the necessary screening by one of the technician's permission was granted to treat our pet. Our Emma, was not going to get better and we made the difficult but necessary choice. Dr Haitz, DVM was the veterinarian that had examined Emma, consulted with us and explained each step of the procedure as she humanely administered the required procedures to Emma. I want to thank Dr Haitz for her compassionate professionalism during a difficult time for us. All employees at the Peak Pet Urgent Care were extremely warm, helpful, and made our situation less stressful. Thanks to all of you for your excellence in service and helping us during this crucial episode. Within 5 days we received Emma's ashes. We also received a card with a great surprise (see photo). Had I known Peak Pet Urgent Care existed, I would have brought Emma here for primary care. The staff is awesome: personally and highly professional. 9/16/2025- Last night the furrbabies had two treats as they were roughhousing while we were watching tv.. Unfortunately, the princess had the treat go down the wrong way.. She ended up coughing all night- Our boy dog was getting so stressed out ... Needless to say no one in the house had very much sleep. Glad we found an urgent care nearby.. and was still open.. Estimate would be expected for an urgent care facility-.. but decided to just get the medication of a steroid and doxycycline -.. No extensive testing- Vitals were normal and not kennel cough-.. I came in with my cat who was having urinary and dehydration issues and she couldn't wait to go to my regular vet the next day. My vet's office recommended I come here if her condition worsened before our appointment. I am so glad they did! I was able to check in online before I started driving over. Once I got there I was warmly received, assured I would be called after 2 pets in front of me and then they quickly took me back to address her problems. Traveled over a hour to get to this vet. I felt that the nurse and the dr just wanted to make me spend lots of money. Terms like tap your bank account and what does your heart tell you to do we're used on me. I spent $200 on nothing to tell me my cat will die and I need to humanly kill him for $900! Kept trying to push this agenda of killing my cat. It's not ok and I don't care how many times they said they felt bad. I don't believe it. I lost my mother recently and this was not good bedside manner. Definitely these people should take some training in how to treat people in tough situations. I will not change my review. I am not alright with this veterinary I feel they are money hungry and not helpful towards saving lives. They couldn't even give my cat fluids I paid for. Like that's what they are trained to do. I paid for them to look at my vat the vet didn't even touch him. I took my cat home with the fluids and anti nausea, cried the whole way back and I am nursing him myself. Keep having him drink water. I Couldn't give him the fluids because duh I'm not a NURSE OR A VET TECH! I am not comfortable doing something that you should be trained to do. To use manipulation of someone's emotional state to get money is not ok. Saying to me what do you feel in your heart and we don't want to tap your bank account is disgusting. They couldn't do blood test or X-rays it was $900. Not financially safe for the community. I'm from California and the vet there would never gouge prices on the community. I am so disappointed and I will never go back and I recommend no one going here. read more

This would be our second visit to Peak Pet Urgent Care, it is a great alternative when your regular veterinarian is unavailable and you don't want or need an emergency hospital. The Entrance is on the Sandhill side of the business complex off of Double R. The first was for our Golden Doodle with a suspected ear infection. You will register online, (Tip) wait for the email or text to proceed there. We were the first appointment of the day and while on the way received the text asking our travel time. The visit went great, it wasn't an ear infection, rather a process conducted by our groomer that will be addressed at our next visit. Our 2nd visit was for our dachador mix, we feared she had a blockage after the Doodle got into the trash. We registered online but immediately proceeded to the Urgent Care, mistake, we ended up waiting just over an hour, ie the tip above. The receptionist are great, very professional, knowledgeable and understanding. Once we got a room, the vet tech immediately saw us, the veterinarian came shortly after the vet tech left. They took great care of our pup, keeping us updated on the process and gladly there was no blockage but inflammation from something she ate. It may be slightly more expensive than a regular scheduled veterinary appointment but I believe cheaper and more convenient than a vet hospital visit. Highly recommend keeping them as a viable option should you need to get you pet checked out. read more

When my cat suddenly started acting strange, I was able to get him in to Peak on a Sunday evening. I was so worried about my cat and the staff and doctor were amazing in their care and professionalism. My cat went home that night and ended up being ok! They called the next day to check in on him. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Dr. Luchetti was awesome. He saw my dog for urgent care as my dog was limping on her right front paw. To make an appointment you have to go online and book the time you want to go and instead of you waiting in the parking lot or the lobby for a very long time, the website asks you your estimated travel time (accounting for traffic of course) and they will call you or text you to head on to their office. Such a very innovative system! Most of all, they were very loving towards my vocal dog and they worked around her being loud and obnoxious. It's like as if they know her temperament already having just met her that day. Needless to say, they took really good care of her and we were sent home with some pain meds and specific instructions. Located in the corner of Double R and Sandhill Drive in South Reno, it is convenient if you live in South Reno. I took my cat here. The staff was empathetic, warm, professional and accommodating. The paperwork process was all electronic and very easy, especially what you want in a time of urgency. The environment was clean and kept. They saw my cat fairly quickly. The vet assistant, Audrey, was very nice. The Vetrinarian, Josh Mull, was knowledgeable and professional. The prices were reasonable and fair. I didn't feel like I was getting upsold on other services so that they could make more money on my animals misfortune and emergency. They fixed the issue, gave me a sense of ease. From the very first visit, the entire staff was so kind and gentle, making sure Riot was comfortable and that we felt supported every step of the way. They took the time to explain everything thoroughly and treated Riot like he was their own. When we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye, they handled everything with such care and compassion. I am positive that if you are reading this review you are currently very emotional and extremely stressed looking for care for your beloved pet. We are out of towners and extremely lucky and blessed to have found PPUC and Dr. Pruyn and her very professional/compassionate team to treat our little treasure after a BRUTAL attack. The entire team not only took care of our dog; they took care of my human child with a free puppy (thank you! He loves Larry!). Dr. Pruyn was patient, thorough, compassionate, empathetic and loving - she truly made a very stressful event less torturous. She also took the time to return a phone call that I requested to discuss next steps with details 3 days later with all the patience in the world as I only had 500 questions about my dog. The best thing about this is that it wasn't just her alone, the entire team made sure our little man was taken care of. The clinic closes at 9pm on Sunday, the team stayed until 1am to help our dog and confirms his safety before everyone gets to go home. We were briefed during the procedure and unfortunately while they couldn't provide timing when we were waiting; they made sure we knew our dog was in great care. This was already so stressful as our fur baby was very hurt and being not familiar with the area added to the overall chaos. I do not wish that you'll need their services, but if you do they are great and I highly recommend this clinic for your pet care. 10/10 with the cleanliness too! Great experience! It is not easy when a pet needs urgent care, and this was a visit I knew was most likely going to lead to end of life. 14 year old cat with mouth tumor. Online check in great, the lady who assisted me by phone also great. Then I got there and they where waiting for us. Dr Perera was more than understanding and help me understand what was best in this situation. He explained what he could do and what would happen. I had a great experience with my little Bichon today! I checked in online through their website. I was called into a room within 10 minutes of checking in. The staff was pleasant and kind. The facility was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Dr Mull was our vet today and he was great. My girl had a foxtail deep in her ear and he flushed it out and had us on our way all within an hour! I recently had to have my beloved female dog, aged 17 euthanized because she had become so invalid that she could not walk or even make her way to her food & water bowls. We had to make this heartbreaking decision, as it happens, on a Sunday. Our regular vet in Sparks was closed on weekends, and we felt that waiting just one more day would be all the more traumatic for our pet and us. Upon doing a search for veterinarians who provided such service, we got a recommendation to ask if Peak Pet Care could help us, and they said yes. We were met by the clinic's veterinary assistants who helped get our dog into the clinic using a wheeled gurney. They then took her into the clinic to prepare her for the procedure by shaving a bit if her foreleg and inserting an IV port and brought her back to the treatment room where we waited. Dr. Toni Luchetti, DVM Then joined us with our pet and explained how the procedure would go, and asked us if we wanted to remain and be in the room when he administered the drugs. We did want to and even helped him by holding our dog's head out of the way during it. He was a very compassionate provider, and even though this was a very sad occasion for us, we were extremely happy with his conduct of the procedure and were happy that we had chosen to use this clinic. If anyone reading this should ever have to face this point in your pet's life, and must also euthanize your pet, I recommend contacting these professionals. This is a difficult choice to have to make, but this clinic and Dr. Luchetti made the experience as painless as it could possibly have been. read more

He was kind and attentive, taking his time examining my pup and talking with me. My dog was experiencing progressing seizures this week. I called my regular vet on Tuesday, and was told since the seizures were initially not frequent, I had to wait a week for an appointment. They also said to bring Curly to Peak if they the seizures got worse. On Friday, Curly started having frequent seizures. I called my vet to see if they had an opening - no. I called Peak and was told to bring him right in. Curly was taken back immediately, as he was having a seizure as I brought him in. Dr. Pruyn explained all the possible causes of his seizures in ways I could understand. After several tests, Dr. Pruyn and I decided the most humane course was to put Curly to sleep. Dr. Pruyn, Montana, and all of the staff were all incredibly compassionate, giving hugs, and totally understanding of my tears and sobs. They asked about cremation, and didn't press me when I said I wanted to arrange it myself. I got to take Curly home and say some private goodbyes. Between the sense of urgency they showed in prioritizing Curly's emergency ( despite other patients waiting), their compassion, and their gentle guidance in making my decision, I can say Peak is the best veterinary experience I've ever had, in Reno or elsewhere. read more

On December 28, 2024 I had to bring my beloved Sergio to Perk pet emergency care. We called and they said bring him in. We didn't have to wait very long .The doctor Jeremy Perera came in and checked him. Talked to us. Ask us if we were ready to have him put to sleep. Of course I was not but knew it had to be done, the doctor Jeremy was so caring And gentle about what he was doing. He got down on his knees, looked my dear Sergio in the eyes and watched step-by-step till he was no longer with us. I cannot express how much I appreciate the caring. The doctor Jeremy sent me a beautiful card with his condolences. It's such a heartbreaking time. It was only a few days and I was able to pick up Sergio's remains, I was happy to bring him home again. Staff here is excellent and kind. We were able to get my senior dog in on a Friday night. Not as expensive as the emergency services vets (also less hours but way better than the normal vet hours). You check in online and fill out a form including your drive time. They text you when it's your turn so you can wait at home and they take your drive time into consideration. read more
